Before we signed the contract, they were extremely cooperative. They promised to fix the issues raised, mow the lawn, and ensure everything would be properly handled before settlement. The building inspection issues were not properly addressed. The garden was left dirty and poorly maintained. To make matters worse, they requested a settlement extension after 5pm on the day before settlement — at the last minute. Then on the second settlement date, the staging furniture was removed only ONE HOUR before settlement. How is this acceptable? How is this professional? The stress and inconvenience this caused were completely unnecessary and avoidable. Only after we escalated the matter through our lawyer did they offer a $200 reduction — which is frankly insulting given the circumstances. This has been an incredibly frustrating and disappointing experience. Then, one day before settlement, we were told there was a delay due to “miscommunication” about furniture removal. Living in QLD, we had no choice but to accept and couldn’t re-inspect the property.  On the extended settlement day, the staged furniture was still there. It felt like the agency knew we had no option but to settle.  After numerous calls and texts; Rude, Aggressive, Dismissive. These are my three words to describe BOW’s response to my complaint especially from both of Bow’s Directors. I was rushed during pre settlement inspections and treated as though my concerns were an inconvenience, despite the fact that checking appliances and making sure goods were in working order were a part in the special conditions in the contract and entirely my right. The lack of professionalism was shocking. The apartment was presented with rubbish still inside and a bong left behind. Why would you present the property in that condition? Yet Peter insisted the property had been “professionally cleaned.” The tenant had moved out in December, leaving over a month for the agent to check and ensure the property was clean and everything in working condition, but this was clearly not done. There was no care, no empathy, and no accountability. Communication was extremely poor. I was not even informed when the tenant moved out by the initial agent that was listing this property, who then apparently left this agency. I had to chase up the office to finally find the this agents number on realestate website to do a final inspection. I was repeatedly ignored, brushed off, or given vague and unhelpful responses. When I asked for proof of professional cleaning, Peter was acting on behalf of the vendor and refused to provide it. A receipt was only supplied the day before settlement and only after I raised the possibility of delaying settlement. Leaving the final inspection, I was devastated and in disbelief. The condition of the apartment was unacceptable and the agent showed no pride in his work. He could have easily arranged for the cleaners to return or at least offered an apology but there was nothing. No accountability, no effort to make things right. I will be taking action post settlement if goods are still not in working order. This entire process has been draining, stressful and incredibly disappointing. All could have been avoided if the Peter had the decency to care at all. I have never been treated so poorly by an agent before. If you are a first-home buyer or anyone looking to purchase an apartment, I strongly recommend staying away from this agency.
