Great experience. Guide was on TIME and enjoyed 100%. Pizza in the middle of nowhere made fresh from scratch, sitting on the lava rocks and enjoying this was a awsome. One thing I can suggest will be add a can / bottle of SODA with the pizza.

Amazing sunset views of multiple Volcano's! My son and I did the Pacaya Volcano tour and had a fun time. They pick everyone up from their hotel/airbnb/accommodation in one shuttle bus, and then you meet up with another shuttle bus and move to that one. The drive takes about 1.5 hours and every seat was full in our shuttle. We did the afternoon/evening tour. As you get off the bus you can choose between renting a horse, or a walking stick. Your tour guide then takes you to where you pay your entry fee, and then you head up the mountain together. There were 2 tour guides, one that led the walking group, and one that stayed back with the horse group. You take stops along the way, but they are short, and not very often. I personally was wishing for more stops, but you can take it slower as well and stop when you need to, and the horse guide will stay with you. The views were amazing. We thought we wouldn't see much since it was cloudy all day and a bit rainy, but the clouds either cleared up or we were high enough to see Pacaya in all its splendor. The only disappointment was the marshmallow roast, as the rocks just weren't hot enough when we went to do any toasting, but that isn't the tours fault. But you can feel heat coming from the vents. The sunset was amazing though and we really enjoyed the experience. But if you are wanting to see Lava go on the Acatenango hike. We heard its brutal, but when we saw pictures of others who had done it, it looked incredible. We also hear there is a 4 wheeling option that is much easier, so if we come back we think we will opt for that. But we enjoyed our Pacaya tour too.

Pros - The hike and seeing Fuego erupt was incredible. The cabin was cosy and had all the equipment we needed (sleeping bags, pillows, blankets, mats). Breakfast was provided on day 1 which wasn't expected, which was a nice surprise! Also a free beer at the end of the hike was a treat. The guides were kind and supportive. Cons - There were loads of stops when walking (basically every 5/10 minutes) which was very frustrating. The guides said for us all to stay together, but when it was myself and my partner at the back, we were often left behind. We didn't get much information about the tour and there were no group briefings to relay information. The guides were often late and wrong about timings. For example, we were told to leave base camp at 8.30am to return to town, so we were all ready to go then they said "20 more minutes". We were told no more than 10 in a group, which was why we booked with this particular company, however there were 16 of us. We were disappointed by the above things but overall really enjoyed the experience. Definitely a must do hike in Guatemala!

More than recomended for weddings! We had arround 30 guests comming from different countries to move arround Guatemala. Turisteando was always organized, easy to schedule and super efficient! All of our guests traveled smoothly from the city to Antigua, Panajachel and even to the Acatenango volcano with them and the experience for all was great. We had a last minute transfer from one of our guests and they managed to make it possible! We are happy and relieved to have such a great partner at our wedding. BIG THANKS!

Spectacular tour with Bryan – 5 stars ⭐ The tour was spectacular thanks to our guide Bryan. We explored the lake and then the slopes of the volcano, learning about the history of the most important eruptions. The explanations were very interesting and made the whole experience even more special. The driver could improve a bit, but overall it was an amazing tour and definitely deserves 5 stars.

Windy with beautiful views. It was a scenic bus ride through winding streets. I have asthma so I took the horse up. Make sure you pay for the horse to the guide that takes you up. I paid at the beginning of the tour, too, the wrong person, and there was some confusion at the end. It was really windy at the top so I’m glad I took a windbreaker with a hood. We went for the sunset tour in the views were stunning.

One of the most unique experiences of my life! Turisteando provided a great experience for hiking Acatenango overnight. We purchased the "glamping" package and were happy with the smaller group size (compared to other tours), and the coziness of the base camp. Management was also helpful and amicable when resolving a few missing details from the tour so overall I highly recommend!

It was very nice. The only thing I have to say is that we stayed only 1 hour and the description said 3-4 hours at the Crater Azul, so I would have liked to stay longer.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ One of the first things you notice when driving a quad bike is the feeling of freedom and adrenaline, added to this: The visits of the irregular trails and the volcano 🌋 are spectacular... My friends and I loved the experience. P.D. The guide is super friendly and speaks Spanish and English.

The tour was informative as it was enjoyable, definitely recommend it to anyone wishing to have a good time in the quads. The terrain was out of this world, and beautiful, a must do adventure!!!!!!

Amazing view My husband and I did the Pacaya volcano trip from our hotel in Antigua. We love hiking volcanoes and did the Santa Ana volcano trip in El Salvador.. We were picked up as scheduled at 0620 am at the hotel. Beforehand we got a message on WhatsApp with the information we needed. The bus was already full and we set off to the volcano. The bus ride took approximately 1 h and 20 min. We stopped and met our guide and bought the tickets and could go to the restroom before setting off. The hike to the highest point took 1 h with two small stops. It was steep all the way so bring lots of water. On the top we took pictures and stayed for 20 min. Then we walked for 10-15 min down to the cold lava area and had barbecued marshmallows. After that we took another route down where the bus waited. That took about 1 h. It was amazing to see the hard lava from the last eruption in 2021 up close. The only thing to complain about was the poor English skills of the guide and the bus driver. We assessed the details directly to the team. We can recommend this hike for sure.

This review is for the 2 Days Acatenango 4×4 Off Road Adventure from Antigua Guatemala. The main issue was that some of the so called "seats" are in the back of the pick up truck. It is in no way acceptable to have some customers pay full price and be forced to be in the back of the pick up truck like animals for what is an extremely bumpy journey. We all paid the same amount and yet some people get to have comfortable seats and others have to go in the back as all 3 of our group did. It's ridiculous. Our group was split across 2 cars and with 3 people total not having a seat. There should have just been a third car to prevent this situation! We paid substantially more for a 4x4 ride up the mountain rather than hiking to make it easier, not harder! Thankfully we're all young and healthy so we were forced to make do but an older person would not have been able to. The other issue was that the guides 100% lied about the difficulty of the fuego hike in order to get more money out of us as we each paid 250Q extra for the evening fuego hike. The duration of the hike was made out to be shorter than it was and the difficulty was multiple times described as a 7/10 or even a 6/10 when compared with the already included acatenango hike of 10/10. I've been on plenty of hikes and it was in no way a 7/10. We later found out that to groups from other agencies it was described as having the same difficulty as the 10/10 acatenango hike. We ended up getting back at almost 9:30pm much later than expected (having of course not eaten dinner yet) and this meant we were all too broken to do the hike that we actually intended to do and had paid for as it required you to get up at 3:45am. The entire group all felt scammed. Finally the sleeping situation is terrible. 7 people all on the floor in one tiny shack on bedding that does not get washed. And the floor has a slope. These 3 issues are perfectly preventable. All in all, definitely do acatenango because the views are extraordinary but do not go with this agency. I'd rather have done the full hike. They are deliberately not up front with the realities of what you're going to be getting. I complained to them at the very start of the trip and again after it was done and I was only offered 10% back without any responsibility taken for the situation which was too measly for me to accept. So instead I'd rather write this review with a clear conscience.

Don’t walk, but run to the tour! This trip was amazing! We were the only ones and rented horses which were well taken care of! The guides were great and the ladies helping us make pizzas were amazing too! We were not rushed and learned lots too. The views were amazing and we loved it all! Do it, do it, do it! One thing if you get motion sick take some meds as the drive is windy!

Wonderful views, tour logictis can improve The tour was very nice with wounderful views and good vibes from the entire group. Pay attention climbing Pacaya is a trail at meduim-high difficulty, not easy as some suggest. Why I gave only 4:- The communication with the company is lacking, they take their time in answering whatsapp- The local guide in the Pacaya park did no speak english!! We booked an english tour. We were lucky to have a member of the group to tranlsate.(but the guide were helpful and nice non the last!!)- the tour is very rushed and of you don’t keep up, they want you to get on a horse (300Q)- The bus was very crowded, as they merged 2 buses into one.

A wonderful walk up pacaya An amazing experience up a spectacular volcano. The tour guide was very friendly as well as extremely knowledgeable, pointing out various floral and fauna on our accent. The view was breathtaking at the summit and we didn't feel rushed to move, allowing the group ample time to take in the sight and take lots of photos

Volcanic experience! An unforgettable experience for me and my daughter. Everything went well, also with transport and punctuality. Very well organized. Professional and attentive guides:Carlos and Benjamin.Mashmellow roasted with heat from the volcano (with lava... of course only when there is!). The road has a medium level of difficulty, with steep hike and some flat sections. Spectacular view! Thanks for everything

Pacaya is a well organised tour and nice hike, but I did feel the guides weren’t quite as outstanding and charismatic as those I’ve met on other hikes and treks in my month in Guatemala. Whilst I found it a reasonably easy hike, those who struggled felt more rushed to keep up with the group and there’s wasn’t much option for them to go at their own pace - they were being reminded that it’s a group hike and there’s timelines to meet. On other, much longer hikes, there were guides at the back and able to go at different paces. If you’ve done more challenging hikes in the country, such as Acatenango, Fuego and Xela to Atitlan trek, this will be a walk in the park. It might also be less exciting by comparison - if you’re short for time I’d definitely prioritise the more challenging hikes.

Great experience Well organised, fantastic trip. Bumpy in the back of the pickup truck going up the mountain but was quite exhilarating. Took the comfy seats inside coming down though!Guides were good. Only a short 45 minute trek from drop off to base camp so was achievable for us in our 50's. Only 2 X suggestions on where they could improve 1) Only have 8 people in the accommodation rather than 10, as 10 was too many.2) Also, split the accommodation into groups for those that do the extra Fuego trip and those that don't, as we got woke up by people coming back late after the Fuengo trip.Overall though very happy and what a spectacle.

An amazing full adventure on Pacaya! A perfect time on the volcano. My hubby, myself and two adults kids in their 20’s took the horses UP the volcano to the crater to view the vast lava flow from the Pacaya volcano. Then they cooked us a pizza lunch with marshmallows on the lava heat. The guides were so helpful with the horses and made it a fabulous way to spend the afternoon. Highly recommend!

One of the most memorable hikes I've taken. Both physically and mentally challenging. Overall it was an incredible experience and it wouldn't have been possible without the amazing guides we had! No one from our group was ever left behind. There was always a guide there to make you smile and help you relax to gain your strength. This hike is challenging! No matter you physical condition, it will test you. I recommend prepping well in advance. Practice walking at a steep incline with a packed backpacked.
