We were the whole family at a Thai vegetarian cooking class. We all enjoyed every moment, ploy was very nice and above all the food was so delicious. We will be back soon. Thank you very much.

Great experience with the cooking class. Recipes were amazing, personal chef was kind and patient with me. I don’t have a lot of experience cooking Thai food and I cannot wait to try these at home.

Don’t take this course unless you’ve no cooking experience & you’re happy to just mix premade & pre-portioned curry pastes, sauces, & ingredients in a wok. I don’t think you can bill yourself as an authentic Thai cooking class when you don’t make your own curry pastes, use store bought tamarind sauce, leave the dried shrimp out of Pad Thai, etc…I was told making curry paste from scratch would take “two hours” - however, the course was supposed to be 2 1/2 hours so I don’t see the issue. Total time from starting to cook at the academy as well as eat, pack up left overs, & leave was 1 1/2 hours - not the 2 1/2 hours of teaching time marketed on the website. No actual demonstrations. The girls were nice but everything was rushed & at the end all 5 dishes are still hot that’s how quickly you go through the class. The dishes don’t taste as complex as the ones you find in Thai restaurants. Expensive ($90 CND) for little actual learning/ insight & a short duration. Disappointed I spent so much money for myself and two children - especially when kids under 12 don’t even get their own portion of food & have to share a single adults portion; while still costing 60% of an adult ticket - so two people share one portion of food and have to pay extra to do so. If you really want an educational experience, I recommend taking a full 4 hour course where you make everything from scratch (Eg ‘Cooking with Mon’ on Koh Lanta). Edited to respond to the below comment: Obviously hands on cooking is expected - just clarifying in my review for others what they should not expect. Considering you’ve had similar reviews in the past, it’s on the service provider to clarify in the class description exactly what clients can - and cannot expect - from a course. If food is not made from scratch, that is pertinent information to convey before hand. Poor reviews could easily be avoided with increased transparency. Adult tickets were $64USD, children’s tickets were $42USD - actually 67% of full price…regardless of any discount it doesn’t negate that children don’t receive their own portion of food. That should also be made clear when booking. I understand a course finishing early, but if the description gives 9:30am-12pm as instructional time and 12pm-12:30pm as lunch time, finishing all of that and having left by 11:15am is quite a difference in expectation - and also should be clarified in the booking information.
