I cannot say enough about Phyllis' work at Above & Beyond Christian Counseling, I have been in Christian therapy for years but she has made the biggest difference in not only my spiritual walk, but fighting the ploys of the enemy, practical tools were given and actual process of breaking strongholds. The deliverance therapy has truly changed my life and I will be forever grateful.

I love the idea of what is being done here as it relates to deliverance. Unfortunately, removing demonic attachments doesn’t follow a formulaic process (confessing sins and then one prayer session with a minister) My condition got considerably worse after the final deliverance session took place. I could not afford to pay any money for another session and have had to find free help through the church. Multiple prayer sessions might be required to help people dealing with certain types of affliction. For those of us who got involved in the occult practices (knowingly or unknowingly) or been impacted by witchcraft, curses, etc. I would not recommend, as it is not a cheap service.

This counseling ministry is off the chain! I have been helped by the therapists and cannot speak highly enough of them. They explain things well, very professional and friendly. The homework was easy, they listen carefully and I'm so amazed at the results I've gotten in such a short period of time! I highly recommend these folks; you won't be disappointed!

Worst experience, EVER! After two, what was supposed to be marriage counseling sessions with Shirley George, I think I may need to find a counselor to help deal with the damage she caused. This counselor did not even bother to listen to the fullness of the situation before she started to make an assessment and tell the patient they ARE the problem. No, thank you to this unprofessional damaging individual. I'll take my healing elsewhere.

I am deeply thankful for the services at A&B counseling. I was connected with Dr. Law and he was awesome in all areas. My testimony is deep. I am saved since 2010 but went back into the world until 2019-2020, where I remained lukewarm. In the summer of 2023, God being so merciful, I was instructed by the Holy Spirit, to return to Him or my sickness would torment me. I did just that since July 2023 and it has been a process of self-deliverance. In October 2023, the Holy Spirit instructed me to do a deeper deliverance diving into my family and deep rooted issues within myself. I began the sessions with Dr. Law in January and just finished in April. One area he prayed over for me (twice) was to understand that God, through Jesus, has fully forgiven me for my past actions. Really great service. My minister was Dr. David Law and I found him to be quite patient and really knowledge on the deliverance process. The process was quite thorough, where David helped educate me on every aspect of an open door, an attachment, having the authority in Christ and staying free. He provided a lot of great resources, and I feel that my faith and prayer life has improved since. Although I am a Born Again Christian, I had been struggling through life with family of origin issues, anger, frustration & pent up resentments. I was feeling very stuck. After much thought I contacted them & arranged for Dr Phyllis Tarbox, to help me through a one-on-one deliverance. She performed an ultra-thorough intake at the first session. The worksheets & homework, although a lot of work, provided the right preparation for the actual deliverance session. One year ago, Nov 2022, I completed the 5-Step Deliverance process with Evelyn Benjamin. It was a bit of a rough start because of where I was at, and I wasn’t sure it would work for me. Furthermore, Evelyn continually deepens her own relationship with the Lord & seeks further training on an ongoing basis to ensure she is equipped to be used in whatever way God wants to use her. As a mature believer who grew up in church my whole life, but hadn’t experienced deliverance before, I wasn’t sure what to experience from my sessions with Phyllis. But having now gone through the process, I was blown away at how much grace, empathy, and love was shown toward me throughout the whole process. To be transparent, I was expecting a lot of judgment for things I had done wrong, but my experience was the exact opposite. Romans 2:4 states that the goodness of God leads to repentance, and that is exactly what I felt - the goodness and mercy of God.

I stumbled on Above & Beyond from a Google Search actually. I felt God prompting my heart that I needed to check in and ask for help with counseling, and deliverance being an element of that. I truly believe it was the kindness of the Lord that I connected with this center. I had the honor of walking through the process of deliverance and the teaching alongside it with Dane Caolo, and it was seriously an incredible experience. Every step / aspect of their process was clear and logical, centered on the Word of God, prayer, and the leading of the Holy Spirit. There were some things I was struggling with where I could see/feel the effects in my life, but I couldn’t clearly identify the root spiritually. The deliverance session, and the whole process brought out into the open things I didn’t know or understand before, and Dane created space for me to ask questions, and really make sure I was grasping the material. I’ve been doing secular counseling for awhile but after I started counseling with Shirley see how much my old therapist missed and how they were only showing me how to manage and cope with my situations. I worked with Dr. Shirley in the deliverance counseling and it has genuinely changed my life. I have spent many years in debilitating fears and crippling anxiety. Counseling and going through deliverance is one of the best things my husband and I ever did. Phyllis is an absolute amazing counselor and it is clear that she is totally led by the Spirit of God. My family and I cannot express how thankful I am to A&B Christian Counseling. As a seasoned Christian and new pastor, I could not explain why certain unhealthy behaviors, mindsets and attitudes continued to beset me and create destructive patterns in my life and with my wife and children. They held me back from all God called me to as his son and from the victory Jesus purchased with his finished work on the Cross. Prior to entering full-time ministry, we had spent over 20-years in the military, deployed much and moved even more. This afforded us many opportunities to go through different church discipleship programs, receive counseling, prayer, build tight relationships and talk through “problems,” you name it. While I did see some victory, there were still tendencies, temptations, ungodly thoughts that oppressed me. Even in ministry and as part of a church that heavily practiced prayer, I still did not see consistent victory. In fact, in some ways, I was getting worse. The destructive behaviors created toxicity at home and impaired my relational and ministerial effectiveness. HOWEVER, after trusting and going through Above and Beyond’s 5-step deliverance ministry, I am truly a changed man. My wife sees it. My children see it. My coworkers see it. I see clearer. I think with more agility. The besetting tendencies, temptations and ungodly thoughts have ceased. I am no longer triggered. Impulses such as when I drive or engage in uncomfortable conversations no longer dictate my actions or my reactions. In three words: I am free. I truly understand what it means to be dressed and in my right mind (Mark 5:15). While God has always loved me, my ability to receive and reciprocate his love has never been sweeter. Trust and follow the process; you will find the whole process and especially the deliverance portion biblical, without theatrics and show. And you will be changed. BEWARE… I am writing this review today because someone I know told me they were going for counseling. I want to prevent anyone I know to go through the same horrible experience I did We went to visit back in 2017 for counseling for my 6 and 12 year old daughters. My ex husband and I wanted the girls to be able to sort through the feelings about our divorce and for them to understand it wasn’t their fault. We had Phyllis Tarbox as she was the one recommended to us. Phyllis spend the majority of the time looking down on us for getting a divorce. Then she asked to spend time alone with each girl. At the end of the conversation, I asked her if she was going to pray before we were dismiss. She bluntly told me that she was not going to pray and specifically not pray for my six-year-old daughter because she had a demon and she did not pray over demons. I was devastated to hear what she just said. Coming from a ministry background if we see that anybody is struggling or bound that’s when we pray over them for deliverance over their life. We we’re in a really bad spot and we left that place feeling horrible. I cannot wrap my head around how someone who calls themselves a Christian counselor would say such a thing and not offer the one thing that brakes all chains, PRAYER. We pretty much pay for someone to tell us how horrible parent we were for getting a divorce and that our daughter was demon posses for feeling angry about the divorce. She did however had time to mention a “deliverance package” they offer to minister deliverance. The sessions recommended we’re going to be around $700. With that said, we went the one and only way we knew: prayer, fasting and a local counselor from our church.

It's my Freedom Day! :) My deliverance process took place online. I am so excited about what God has in store for me. I battled with more struggles than I could imagine and I am so relieved to be free. Jan, my deliverance counselor, was patient and kind throughout each session. She took time to dive into deeper matters and never failed to encourage me by providing reassurance about my identity in Christ and God's love for me. I recently completed my deliverance ministry with Shirley and it was absolutely amazing. She was sweet and caring and gave me the best advice to keeping my heart free from all the things that left me. I came to this center to receive help with demonic curses and strongholds from mental abuse, overeating and other things. This is a step by step process, and my counselor was with me each step of the way. The principles are Biblically based and I received a lot of knowledge on the steps it will take to become and stay free. What was also especially helpful is that I was given daily prayers to say and scriptures that tell me "Who I am in Christ". I did experience a big shift after our session and know that things came out of me. I look forward to what else God will continue to reveal to me after this delieverance and plan that He has for me.

I have been a Licensed Mental Health Counselor for over a decade. I am a seasoned, educated believer filled with the Holy Spirit. I speak in tongues. I wholeheartedly recommend this ministry. I asked my partner to bring me for counseling and when Jan the counselor stated that God did not create Evil, my partner challenged that statement by asking, "But didn't the Creator create everything?" Jan was immediately offended and mistreated my partner for challenging her belief. She asserted that she was the counselor, not him. After the session we spoke about the following scriptures. Make your own choice to seek help from this organization, but consider the following scriptures before reaching out for help. I first met A&B Christian Counseling in 2015, when I was struggling with a lot heavy things, major strongholds and now trauma from my son suffering a traumatic brain injury from abuse. I was sick and tired of being a passive Christian dealing with things I knew God wanted me to have victory over but I just kept repeating the same cycles and was desperate for help but didn't know how to get it. I was hesitant about attending counseling due to the fear that my experience would be less than ideal and insincere. For years I struggled with an addiction and I would always tell myself I would change. I tried many things to break this bondage but I still struggled. I had been following Above and Beyond counseling for some time and knew they were Christ centered, specializing in spiritual warfare. Deliverance Ministry with Above and Beyond Christian Counseling via internet is the most life changing thing to happen to me since salvation. I have been in bondage and oppression for most of my life including after I was saved. I KNEW something was still not right inside and have searched everywhere in Christian circles for a cure, like a thorn stuck in me keeping me from being able to work out my salvation and truly lie the abundant life Jesus came to give us. I could not put into practice all I have learned in 20 years of being a Christian but since deliverance ministry I can tell the thorn is gone. I am not one to leave negative reviews, but before you spend your money here, you should know that they use a formulaic approach that was VERY FRUSTRATING for us. After much resistance, my husband finally agreed to marriage counseling, and seemed genuinely happy to be going to Above and Beyond based on great reviews. We were given a class instead of given counseling. Even after we explained we knew about inner healing and deliverance, Phyllis Tarbox couldn’t make the adjustment and taught us instead of counseled us. We spent three sessions waiting to get to our issues while she pursued her formula. I specifically asked her to get to the issues we came for, but instead we basically paid $300 to listen to her talk, and never listen to us! Very disappointed. Now my resistant husband is turned off to counseling, and because A and B was such a failure I’m more stuck than ever. Wish I could get my $ back. Worse than a total waste. Be advised!

I needed help but because of prior experiences with other Christian counsellors I was skeptical and had doubts. I was truly impressed when Shirley my counsellor opened the session with prayer. I attended two face to face sessions and the others online. After I went through the deliverance session I saw immediate changes. I had a bad car accident in 2005 when someone ran the red light and totaled my car. By the grace of God I did not die but after that I had almost paralyzing driving anxiety. I drove because I had no choice but it was fearfully and I prayed my way through the whole journey. The fear left immediately and now I drive with confidence. I had issues with resentment ,anger depression and unforgiveness because of what I've been through in life( caused by people and circumstances)It is if my memory bank was downloaded and revamped. The memories are still there but they no longer cause me emotional pain. I think my whole personality has changed and I thank God for this wonderful healing. Now I am ready to go through the training so that I can help others

So glad everyone else was helped as indicated by their reviews. My husband and I had a very frustrating experience with Phyllis Tarbox. I noticed no other review named her. Normally I wouldn’t either, but it’s fair to be warned by a review, and if you’re investing in something as important as marriage counseling you need to make sure the counselor is a good one. In my case my husband was very reluctant to get counseling. The great reviews of A and B finally made him willing. Unfortunately Phyllis offered us an informational course, which we didn’t want or need, but NOT counseling. She seemed to have a pre-set agenda to accomplish, regardless of what we felt our issues were. She never heard us, barely listened... did a lot of talking. I kept waiting to get to the counseling part and cover what we were there for. By the third session of information- she offered that we take tests , for more information. I was so angry because she had yet to comprehend why we were there— and my husband’s reluctance was getting validated- “ see, counseling isn’t going to help” ... It had been a major victory to get my husband to the discussion table, and now the “counselor” herself was draining away any hope of dealing with our actual conflict. We paid for and took the tests, but we didn’t bother to waste even more money and time after that. The tests were useless to us, as were all the sessions with her. She proved to my husband that counseling is a waste of money and she left me nearly hopeless. AND SHE WAS SO UNAWARE she didn’t even know what she had done! I hope no one has my experience. I’m still frustrated by it all. It would be great if Above and Beyond would reach out to us with some compensation. We sp be over $300 for worse than nothing. I’m not writing to expect that—- I just am venting over the near impossibility of ever getting us into real counseling now, because of Phyllis’ insensitive incompetence. Be advised!

I am so grateful for the counseling ministry at Above & Beyond. Amazing and life changing delivery process with Jose and his wife Marla. Was able to finally cut a soul tie with an unsaved narcissistic man after a year and a half and experience deliverance in every area of my life. I recently went through counseling with AandB counseling about a month ago via internet. It was a good experience, the counselor was very caring and thorough with the teachings, praying, interceding leading up to the deliverance. She also walk me through on steps to stay free after deliverance. This ministry help me grain more understanding and knowledge through there teaching on the internet . I've gone to deliverance trainings and worked with Dr Don Ibbitson, his wonderful wife and the entire deliverance team for over 15 years. They have been so faithful to Christ, full of love and integrity in freeing us captives bound by the enemy that I support them monthly with financial blessings. This is a biblically based deliverance ministry. They follow the bible's instruction and provide training with documentation for educational development on basic lessons found all through the gospels in Jesus's ministry. I personally worked with Donald and found his systems approach and process engineering background a pleasure to work with. The best part of their process is how they conduct an initial one on one interview instead of having you fill out a bunch of general forms that can lead to even more frustration.
