maurice has done three kitchens for us I can’t tell you how absolutely wonderful it was working with him it’s like a breath of fresh air , he is amazing and the workmanship is out of this world it cant get any better I’m so very lucky

Maurice is absolutely phenomenal!! It would be impossible to recommend him and his store more highly!! I have been working with Maurice for more than 30 years. My parents worked with him even longer (they began while he was still in high school.) My brother's family works with him. We have turned so many people onto Maurice. To call Maurice a woodworker or a 'furniture guy' would be a disservice to his skills. He is an artist. A true craftsman. He is unbelievably creative and his workmanship is of the highest caliber. It is meticulous. He can make anything out of wood. He thinks things through so fully that he is able to troubleshoot and correct things before they are a problem. For instance, he was making a custom fireplace mantle for us (see picture below) and had a conversation with our builder to discuss it. After looking at the plans, Maurice realized that the wall had to be altered in order for the mantle to fit. As drawn by the architect, the wall, although it had a fireplace, was not large enough to accommodate a mantle, let alone adhere to the fire code with respect to the setback. It was Maurice who caught the issue, (not the builder, not the architect), so it could be corrected before the mantle was constructed. Maurice built furniture for our first home, our second home, and now our new home. All of the most beautiful pieces we have are from Maurice. When people comment on something in our home, it is always a piece that Maurice has made for us. I can say, without hesitation, that our homes would not be nearly as pretty or inviting without our pieces from Maurice. They are unique and amazing. In most instances, they are one of a kind. With Maurice, you are only limited by your imagination. If you see something in his store that isn't the exact specifications you need or you wish it had a drawer or whatever it may be, Maurice can make it for you. In any color, in any finish, in any size. Do you have a picture of something you love? Maurice will help you bring it to life and make it work for your needs. There is simply nothing he can't do. He made us a bed out of antique columns. He made us a kitchen island using the bottom of a Romanian train car (see pictures below.) It was so gorgeous that our kitchen was chosen to be in a coffee table book about beautiful kitchens. He used old gates to support a 15-foot dining room table he made for us. He made a closet for my mom that was absolutely spectacular. And the list goes on and on. But most importantly, he is a gentleman. He has integrity, and he truly cares. He takes genuine pride in doing the absolute best job and would never settle for anything less. Maurice is a rare breed. Working with him will be the best decision you make for your home.

I walked into Maurice’s Furnishings, I fell in love with a custom table, and custom color. The service was fantastic. I left with samples and photos. I was given a timeline, and it was stuck to. During the process, I was involved every step of the way. I was sent more samples, photos, phone calls when i was confused. I live out of state, and we agreed upon a trucking company to deliver. It was delivered safely and a day early. I highly suggest Maurice’s if you want a custom table with great service and a reasonable price.

Amazing and fun. I feel like I am a part of their family after two plus years of building a home and choosing pieces with them for furnishings and decor. It is stressful to build a home but more so when problems arise causing a year plus delay. I worked with the entire family to select items as simple as a sofa to a water pump lamp made by Maurice Sr. Looking through the showroom is like a treasure hunt and you never know what you will find in each little nook and cranny. Selecting an antique cart for a bath vanity or asking them to create that perfect finish for another was seamless. Natasja and the family welcomed my crazy rescue pets when I had to have them with me; she and Wendy worked with me tirelessly as I debated between looks and styles. Last but certainly not least Maurice Jr. (?) helped turn ideas into fabulous pieces...including a little "slice" of Disney. Don't miss this opportunity! Oh, I also have a dining room table from them purchased 15 years ago and it is still fabulous.

Maurice’s FURNITURE is exquisite! The craftsmanship is outstanding! We built a new home in September, and Maurice has worked with us consistently throughout the year in designing numerous pieces for every room. His detail to design and quality of craftsmanship is the best I’ve ever seen. We also had a room done with his custom upholstered furniture and it was high-quality, beautiful furniture. His sister Wendy did a marvelous job working with us on that project. He was very patient with us as we made changes throughout the process. Maurice would just smile and help us out. Maurice's is a wonderful family owned and operated business that has been around for over 30 years. They design and build gorgeous solid wood furniture and offer an array of finishes. The showroom is nicely decorated and they have a nice mixture of antiques, antique reproduction and also accessories to make your home look right out of a high end magazine. We have purchased a beautiful oak dining table with leaves that was made from the floorboards of European train, a gorgeous coffee table made from 200 year old timbers from an old building in Turkey, an antique pedestal table with Windsor chairs, two office desks, a fireplace mantle and a heirloom armoire dating back to 1801. We have been quite happy with all of our purchases! The staff at Maurice's are very helpful and they are customer service oriented. Maurice's is one of our favorite places to visit.

We recently bought a custom, hand crafted hutch from Maurice's. When we got the piece, the color did not work in our decor. This was totally our fault, but it just didn't work in our house. No problem. One call and we were told to just hold on to it and they would make a complete new piece, no problem, no hassle. Their work is second to none! My wife and I previously owned our own custom furniture store in Michigan and I can honestly say Maurice's exceeded our tough standards! I wish them continued success. They have amazingly unique pieces and a ton of variety, color and style. Everything is superb quality and just gorgeous. Every luxury home should have some Maurices in it! BTW - they make CUSTOM too! Maurice's Furnishings designed and built an exquisite Santa Fe style dining set of alder wood, including a china hutch. Years later we asked them to create a matching bar, done! We receive complements every time guests enter our home and our kids are already fighting over who'll get it! I highly recommend them for your special project.
