Great claw machine arcade, can't recommend enough. I was just in Japan and played on the same machines trying to win some of the same prizes, and didn't win a thing there (prizes dropped out of the claws every time, many times over). At HyperSpace Starcade, I can spend $25 and know I'll be walking out with at least a few prizes. I much prefer my experience here in Rochester, MN. HyperSpace Starcade is doing it right, I'll keep coming back.

Went here for a date night and had a lot of fun! The claw machines are winnable and we left with a bag of prizes that we liked, varying from plushies to keychains. Also, if you don’t get the prize you want with specific machines you can trade for a different one in the machine. Both of us agreed we would definitely come back again.

I walked in expecting classic arcade vibes. You know, flashing cabinets, button mashing, maybe a racing game where I can redeem my dignity. Nope. It’s cranes. All cranes. A mechanical jungle of glass boxes and dangling dreams. And those quarter drop machines that look innocent until they’ve quietly absorbed your grocery budget. Fifty dollars later… I’m walking out like a victorious toddler king. Mini Pokémon figures stuffed in my pockets. A slightly oversized Pikachu tucked under my arm like I hunted it myself. 🟡⚡ But then I saw it. The PS5. Hanging there. Suspended by a single string like destiny was mocking me. I tried to cut that string with pure skill and questionable timing. Missed. Again. And again. The claw laughed in robot. Epic fail. But here’s the problem. I know it’s still there. And one day… that string is getting cut. Hyperspace Star Arcade: come for the nostalgia, leave with stuffed animals and a personal vendetta. 🎮

Brought my girlfriend to try it out since she loves the claw arcades, was impressed with selection of the machines and the pricing was better then most places.

We were really disappointed. The space was extremely small — I’ve seen bathrooms bigger. The prizes were limited and not very impressive, and the one item we actually wanted was only on display and not even available to trade up for. The machines felt very difficult to win on. We did win a few stuffed animals, but for $50 it honestly felt like a rip-off. Overall, it just wasn’t worth the money.

This is a very fun place to play claw games. Great and friendly staff. Tons of fun for a day off and great for teens.

Love this place! We stopped by after grabbing some lunch. Typically claw machines are not great and take a ton of skill/luck but these had a great win ratio. It was very fun, met who I assume was one of the owners. She actually gave my son an extra play on a game he was trying to win a keychain for my wife. He didn't win it and she grabbed it for him anyway. She said she wants everyone to have a good time and walk out with something. Can't beat that type of owner and interaction. A+ will come back again, tons of fun, highly recommend!

Took the kids to HyperSpace Starcade!!! Amazing place!! The man working was asking my 21 year old nephew what types of things the older young adults would like. Didn’t bring a bag, but they had them, FREE!! Employee even scanned his card before we all left, to make sure we all left with something we wanted!!

Your average pay for a coin operated claw arcade is 1 coin per a dollar. If you spend 100 dollars, you get 100 plays. Granted there are places with particular machines that cost 2 coins to play. So with that being said, you get to play 100 times off of 100 bucks for your single coin games. At this place your single coin operated games are actually credit based of 6 credits. That means you are spending 100 bucks to only get 465 credits (to look good they say 65 of those are bonus for spending 100 bucks) which is 77 plays out of your 1 coin games. You get less for your money here. On a second negative, they do not explain the point system to you. There is a sign that explains, but its on the wall where there is nothing else to look at, to draw your attention. They should have this sign on the glass where the prizes are. If I had known the points you gain while playing can not be used towards trade, I would not have spent 200 bucks winning plushies I actually wanted to keep. The only way you can redeem prizes for trade is by handing over your plushies. The points gained on your card are basically worthless and dont add up fast enough to redeem anything worth the time. Im giving 2 stars only because I had fun playing, like I would anywhere else. I won't be returning to this Arcade based off the price cost. And the fact that they have too small of plushies that are in to big of claw machines, and to big of plushies in machines with to small of claws.

Kiddos had a BLAST winning so many familiar looking stuffies. For me this is what sets this claw machine place over the others. Winning recognizable goodies makes one want to play and that we did because we won the whole Mario crew in no time and can’t wait to go back to see what we can add to our collection.

I hired HyperSpace for my son’s 7th birthday party. I chose their laser tag party and it was amazing! They arrived to my house early to set up, their equipment was all super nice, and they kept 15ish kids entertained for 2 hours. They even jumped in and played laser tag with the kids! All of the kids said it was the best party ever. I would recommend them over and over again!

How had I NOT known about this hidden Rochester MN Gem?! The arcade is filled with claw machines for plushies, and mini/claws for the “kawaii” type of prizes. You CAN win, and you WILL. The machines are “easier” than your standard claw and if you want it-you’re bound to get it. The employee opening on the day we visited (6/21) was super helpful and kind when it came to tips and gaming. Easy to Pop in and out, and enjoy winning the quality fun prizes/plushies on stock (Sanrio Hello Kitty, Pokémon’s, Figurines from Japan, Characters, etc.) We will for SURE be back! So kid and family Friendly (employee was hosting a party right at opening and it went great and all the kids were enjoying and screaming about the excitement from winning their desired prizes!)

Just finished celebrating my nephews birthday at Hyperspace Starcade, and we had a blast! Everyone left with prizes, and birthday boy was nothing but big smiles. I've came to this arcade twice and have absolutely fell in love with it. This place is a claw machine arcade and I have won around 30+ prizes from both times, the games are winnable and I learned I am pretty good at claw machines lol. I rate it 5 stars and think everyone should try to come to this place at least once
