I had the privilege to stay at Clam Gulch Lodge this fall when Pam and Gary hosted the Steelhead Sirens trip. The lodge is very charming, cozy and comfortable. Each room has its own salmon themed room (so cool!), is spacious and comfortable. Pam and Gary go beyond hosting and offer a home-a-away from home experience. The homemade food is mouth watering (and they are very good at accomodating allergies)! You will be guaranteed to have good company, conversation, and lots of laughs. The views from the lodge over look the ocean and coastal mountains and are incredible. 100% would recommend staying here .

Pam & Gary have created one of the best spaces out here. I've been a guest multiple times at their lodge and it has been nothing short of wonderful every single time. These two are the most gracious, personable, and thoughtful hosts I have encountered! I thoroughly enjoy getting to chat with these two over their fantastic home cooking. They accommodated all our food allergies so well. They make thee BEST clam dip! The very comfy rooms along with the hosts make you feel right at home. The lodge has one of the best views in the area! I highly recommend anyone to stay here.

Exceptional ☺ Wow, that view… the kind that makes you wonder if you’ve accidentally walked into a postcard. The hosts: Pam and Gary - Absolute legends with great tips and recommendations. And don’t even get me started on the homemade breakfast… it’s the kind of start to the day that makes you believe you can conquer the world (or at least the second cup of coffee). Honestly, the whole stay was one giant ‘this is the life’ moment. Highly recommend! Thank you Pam and Gary!

Gary and Pam offer a fully customized, peaceful retreat with friendly service!! Nestled between Homer and Soldotna, this picturesque Lodge is perfect for exploring the Kenai Peninsula. One of the many highlights of our stay was the access to local attractions, including nearby beaches and trails! Not to mention - a delicious breakfast in the morning! Cozy rooms with beautiful hand-painted headboards. We enjoyed spotting Mount Redoubt, Iliamna, and Spur from their spectacular oceanfront view. We will definitely be back! - Ever and Keith :)

The drive in from Anchorage is among the most eye-catching you're likely to find short of a trip to Iceland. Mountains dominate the landscape, with clouds hanging closely to their tops, small caps of snow dotted sporadically on taller slopes, and an ocean view to the east form so many photo opportunities, the 3 hour drive could easily extend into twice again that time. Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted by the owners, Gary and Pam, who assisted in our getting settled and made us feel more like family than paying guests. They arranged all our excursions/activities during our 10 day trip, with only two days not comprised of traipsing about the area in search of a new discovery. For those that don't read the fine print, the lodge is nestled on top of a 300-foot cliff overlooking the Cook Inlet. The views are stunning, even with heavy cloud cover. The beach experiences 30+ foot tidal shifts, so your view is never the same on any given day. The sheer drops and rugged terrain serve to establish that this isn't a tamed tourist trap; this area is as natural and unblemished as one is likely to find in our over-exploited natural wonders world. Each day begins with a made-from-scratch meal at a time of your choosing, served in the communal area of the lodge. Each morning was a different culinary delight. From bacon slow cooked on a pellet grill, to homemade bread pudding with caramel sauce, your stomach will be bursting before you leave out the door for the day. They also provide lunches, which were also as scrumptious as the breakfasts! We fished for Silver Salmon (what was open to us during our stay) on the Middle River. We fished for Halibut and Cod in the bay. We kayaked around a few small islands in Homer. We toured glaciers on a power catamaran out of Seward. We went dog sledding with a 3-time Iditarod champion. Each and every trip was personally arranged through Gary and Pam, as they knew the people that ran each activity, and we were treated like family everywhere we went. At no point did we feel like a number or a dollar sign. There isn't anything you would want to do in Alaska that Gary can't arrange for you. Want to fly over and see bears? Want to hunt moose? Want to eat reindeer? Want some history or local knowledge about something you saw on a drive/trip out? Gary and Pam can provide context and content to fill a book! Perhaps the most cherished part of our trip was the relationship we formed with Gary and Pam during our stay. It truly felt as though we were visiting our parents or close family the entire time. Many hours of our down time was spent just visiting, playing board games, going to the beach together, or talking about life in general. They are what make the place special. We will definitely visit again in the winter to partake of the other set of activities in Alaska and can't wait to see them again!

Book your stay now!!! This place is amazing were so well catered to. It is spotless and comfortable. We even got reindeer sausage and gravy with biscuits! You can see three volcanos from the cliff views in their backyard. Gary and Pam are so knowledgeable about where to go and what to do and can answer any question you throw at them. The entire property is beautiful. They even have beach access. If I had let my husband he would have stayed forever. If you like to talk and interact with your hosts this is the place for you. If you like to be waited on professionally this is the place for you too. They provide the exact service that each guest wants. The location is right in between Soldotna and Homer so you can see everything easily. The hosts have multiple grandkids and you can really tell because they provide such a family friendly environment. Pam was kind enough to sit and share a glass of wine with me and talk for hours and Gary has so many cool alaska stories. I plan on making a second trip with my kids and will be staying at Clam Gulch Lodge.

We had a most wonderful experience at Clam Gulch Lodge at the start of our Alaska vacation. Gary and Pam were warm and inviting hosts. We came as guests but left as family. We had a communal dinner (halibut, salmon, razor clams) one night including a sunset trip to the Clam Gulch beach (below the lodge). And special thanks to Gary for tips on how to spend our time on the Kenai Peninsula and arranging the float plane excursion to Wolverine Creek which was terrific. This special attention is what makes this property stand out.

Our time at Clam Gulch Lodge was unforgettable! The hospitality was warm, the staff were fantastic, and the lodge itself offered breathtaking views. We particularly loved the fishing excursions and Gary and Pam set up a once in a lifetime fly-in for bear viewing, photos, and fishing adventure. Exceptional ☺ We spent 5 exceptional and wonderful days at the Clam Gulch Lodge. Our hosts, Pam and Gary are two charming and beautiful persons who were so kind and hospitable to us. They really made us feel like we were part of the family. We really appreciated their tips and recommandations of the sites to see, the activities to do, and the excellent restaurants situated in the area. Each day, a different delicious breakfast was served . Their breakfasts are probably the best in all of Alaska. Upon returning from our excursions, delicious cookies and little cakes made by Pam were served to us. We really enjoyed Pam’s delicious coffee. The place is very beautiful and peaceful. It was so relaxing for us. There is a magnificent view of Cook's Cove and the coastal area and the mountains and volcanoes. For us this was a perfect place to stay for navigating in the Kenai Peninsula. ☹ Everything was perfect.

This place is like food for the soul. We rented the entire lodge for a week-long family reunion and the location and our hosts Gary and Pam exceeded every expectation! The gorgeous views, delicious breakfasts and beds were steller and we had a truly magical stay at this gem of a getaway. Gary helped plan wonderful activities with exceptional guides. Everything from a glacier boat tour out of Seward (our favorite) to sea kayaking in Homer, wilderness canoeing, bear watching, salmon fishing and a dog sledding tour that got raves. I cannot say enough about the care and warmth our hosts showed us and I look forward to going back.

Don’t stay anywhere else! We had the trip of a lifetime! Gary and Pam have thought of everything. The rooms have blackout curtains. Plenty of space for clothes, and a small refrigerator. The beds are super comfortable. The bathrooms provide shampoo and conditioner, and plenty of towels. You just need to bring a blow dryer. The common area in the main house is roomy with plenty of seating for all. You feel at home, always. There is a full size refrigerator with freezer, barbecue, smoker, camp stove, storage, and everything you need cook any kind of meal on site. Great way to cook your catch! Complimentary breakfast! This is not just boxed doughnuts and rubbery hard boiled eggs!!! They put a lot of thought and love into the meals they provide. You will not go hungry! We booked a couple of fishing trips, and they provide lunch for the trips with plenty of snacks and waters if you need them. We all brought refillable water bottles, which I recommend. The water there is so good! It comes out of the tap nice and cold, tasting better than any water you would buy. The property is central to all the hot spots! And the view is gorgeous, with snow capped mountains, the ocean and eagles. We highly recommend this lodge and can’t wait to go back!

Exceeded expectations! We decided to take a chance on renting a room sight unseen in Clam Gulch in order to break up our drive from Anchorage to Homer. Are we ever happy that we did! We will never forget the warm, friendly and interesting hosts, Gary and Pam. After only a few hours, we felt like we'd known them for years. Their home is beautifully decorated with Alaskan artifacts and Gary's nature photographs. He is a marvelous cook, so our breakfast was first-rate. Just to add to the perfection, a moose wandered through their yard, and it began to lightly snow. It was an Alaskan dream, and we should have stayed longer!

Very Hospitable! Excellent breakfast and packed lunches! Excellent trip guide facilitator. Our family stayed in the Eagle's Nest cabin. A quiet place with great privacy and yet a short walk from the lodge. This spacious cabin also includes a kitchen with all the amenities. The view directly overlooks Cook Inlet from both the lodge and the cabin. You cannot go wrong by staying in either. Good location near the Kasilof river and not far from the Kenai river. Plus a nice drive down to Homer. It really splits up the drive from the mainland to Homer well. Gary Katsion is an excellent, hospitable host, who offers great breakfast service, packed lunches, and guided tour arrangement. It was so nice to have him make the arrangements. Gary booked our guided fishing trips and our trip to Wolverine Creek. All we had to do was follow the directions to the meeting location for the guided service, he arranged the rest, including the payment and packed us fantastic lunches. Normally I would book all of the excursions myself, but Gary makes it simple and gets the best deals. I would definitely advise you to have Gary book all of your tours and arrangements. If you are interested in going to Alaska and visiting the Kenai Peninsula, do not wait, just go. And call Gary when planning the trip and book all of the details through him. He is excellent and made the experience of Alaska even better!
