Update 1/31/2026: had our 2nd stress-free, very efficient move with Express after 2.5 years. Crew of 4 was able to skillfully park the truck in a different garage due to destination building’s service elevator wasn’t working, and navigate all the snow built up on the streets. No damages, reasonable pricing, very organized intake and communication process!! I found them on Angi and Peter gave me a call to ask for the move information/inventory so he can provide a quote. He was very professional and gave a reasonable quote. We decided to go with Express because of the other positive reviews and getting our first choice time slot. We had a stress-free move today!! The 2 person team led by Gabriel arrived on-time and was super professional - they brought supplies and worked very efficiently. It was local move with back to back move-out and move-in, all done in 6.5 hours. Our furniture was carefully wrapped and nothing was damaged. The movers were patient and adaptable because the destination service elevator didn't work, and we had to share elevators with other residents. They were also very understanding when my partner asked to adjust where the furniture was placed. My only criticism would be the method of payment the company has. I was asked to show proof of deposit, which I paid on Zelle a month ago, but I never received a confirmation email or document to demonstrate that clearly. I had to go through my Zelle history to find it, which cost us time from unpacking. The Zelle payment option is convenient indeed, but I wished the movers were informed of my deposit before making the trip out. Nonetheless I highly recommend them and would choose them again!

Three moves in four months. With my mom in the hospital and in a panic, after a budget moving service cancelled at the last minute, I reached out to Express Moving and Storage. Brittany quickly got back to me and was able to quickly accomodate without any price gouging. Although it was just moving a few older pieces a short distance (1 mile) to an assisted living facility, I was in awe of their care in packing an quickly realized they were well worth any price difference my original company. When my mother passed, I used them to move those items (and more) back to her house. A month later, once her house sold, I used them to move items I was taking to Boston. As I decided what to take with me, the items/quantities changed and appreciate the flexibility in working with Brittany - keeping the move in budget. The movers again were very wonderful and accomodating. Extremely efficient but without sacrificing care or attention to detail. Highly recommend for a no stress move regardless of the size/distance.

Family coming in two days from overseas. No one available to lift and move heavy furniture. Brittany at Express Moving and Storage was able to send two movers to my apartment the next day after I called them. They called to reconfirm the time. They came on time. Gabriel anf Kelby were super nice and efficient and careful. They were careful with other old family furniture when they were setting the mattresses up out of the way. They figured out how to separate and reassemble the parts of the trundle bed. I highly recommend this company.

We moved 5 times in the last 10 years. If we were to move again, and Express Moving and Storage was available here down south, we would unequivocally use their services. Everyone we dealt with at the company had a sense of ownership and urgency as we prepped for the move. Beginning with my first call to Express, I was wowed by Brittini's friendly, respectfully inquisitive, and effective manner. We had good follow up conversations and when she wasn’t available, Niki handled any of the complicated questions we generated. Prior to the move and final pricing, Robin came by for an evaluation. He’s Mr. Chill and came up with the plan regarding our special packing needs and numerous items. On moving day Gabriel and his team wrapped up anything that would possibly mark our walls. They were very knowledgeable, respectful, kind, and careful with all our items. They did extra work. Due to an issue, everything (2000 sq ft 6 floor townhome) had to be moved to the parking lot before being loaded in the truck. They did it with a positive attitude. Our new place, 800 miles down South, had been freshly painted. The same care and concern was exhibited on move in…not a mark on the walls and not a thing broken. And all done with a positive attitude despite numerous challenges. We definitely fully endorse Express Moving and Storage.

I've hired Express Moving and Storage 3 times now and had an exceptional experience every time. Their staff is very professional and efficient, and cleaned up after themselves. They were very flexible when I had some large trash items to remove and provided a quick and reasonable estimate. I highly recommend.

I used their services to move from downtown DC to Chevy Chase, and from start to finish, the experience was wonderful. Firstly, I got a quote from them efficiently and it ended up being very accurate. Communication was easy, I was always able to get someone on the phone when I needed (especially regarding DC parking permits... they were very willing to help me figure out everything I needed). In terms of the actual move itself, Henry, Jorge, Juan, and Juan G went above and beyond all day to move all of our furniture safely. They do charge for tape (and used a lot of it with their blankets!), but honestly, I'm happy to spend an extra $100 on tape if it means that all of my furniture gets to my new home in perfect condition (and the blankets they provide without additional cost). All in all the value was great - it's not super cheap, but it's less expensive than many other movers I contacted, and I had a great move experience overall. Will use again for any moving services!

We had absolutely incredible service with this company. Our office needed to remove items from our building's basement storage with a hard deadline. We were working with a different moving company previously, which resulted in fraudulent credit card charges. We had less than a week to find new movers and get them scheduled. Luckily, Express was able to get us on the books quickly. The team was absolutely wonderful - they were kind and efficient and arrived on time. Issues with our building prevented them from using the loading dock as originally planned, and they worked through that without a single complaint. We will definitely be contacting Express in the future for any moving needs we have.

Express Moving and Storage is awesome, and I highly recommend them! I decided to hire Express Moving for several reasons. First, I like their business model. Many big-name moving companies use 18-wheelers. They pack multiple families on a single truck, and they provide a large window for delivery, sometimes 7 - 10 days. Express uses smaller trucks. Only your stuff is on the truck. And they provide you a specific date AND time when your loading and unloading will happen. Second, Robin Boldt, one of the founders and owners of the company, came to my house for the estimate. Every other company I interviewed sent a salesperson. I took comfort knowing that the owner of the company was so invested in the process. Third, many moving companies will load your stuff using their own employees. However, when doing a long-distance move, as we did, those companies will send one driver with your stuff, who will then be responsible for hiring labor locally to unload the truck at the destination. This gave me great concern. Express sends a team of only their own employees from the DMV to your destination. Their employees unload the truck at the destination and are accountable to Express. Finally, Express provided a "binding estimate." Every other company we interviewed provided just an "estimate," which meant that they would ultimately charge by the number of hours spent loading and unloading, and the actual weight, as measured at highway weigh stations, of my load. The "estimates" we received from other moving companies had a very wide range, and there was no guaranteeing any of those numbers would be accurate. The "binding estimate" I received from Express was not the cheapest, nor was it the most expensive. But I knew for 100% certain that the amount on the "binding estimate" is what I would pay. Having decided to use Express for our move, I was absolutely thrilled with the outcome. Our loading appointment was April 19 between 7 and 8 am. At 6:45 am, the trucks pulled up. At 7:00 am on the dot, the team knocked on the door. They laid down runners throughout the house, padded bannisters and corners of walls, and walked through the house with me to understand what was going where at the destination. Then they began. They worked nonstop for 11 hours. They disassembled furniture, packed items as if they were all made of eggshell (no chance of anything breaking the way they packed stuff), and loaded everything without a single bump or bruise. Walter, the foreman, and his crew were outstanding! Our unloading appointment, at the destination about 300 miles away, was for the next morning, April 20, between 9 am and 11 am. I called Robin, one of the owners, on the night of April 19 (yes, he will give you his cell phone number, and yes, he answers it on a Saturday night at 8:30 pm). I wanted to touch base and make sure that everything really would be delivered 12 hours later. He assured me that everything was in order. On the morning of April 20 at 10:00 am, I received a call from Andre, one of the team members who had loaded the prior day, saying they would arrive in 30 minutes. At 10:30 am, the trucks pulled up, and the unloading began. Express cannot always send the whole team that loaded to unload, but they will always send at least one team member from the loading so that there is "institutional knowledge." Andre was that person and was the foreman of the unloading crew. His memory was incredible. He knew exactly where every item was to be placed in the new house (and when we changed our minds on where to put things he was super accommodating). Andre and his team were outstanding! They worked nonstop for 9 hours, reassembled everything properly, placed everything where we asked, and did it all without a single nick, dent, or scratch. I cannot say enough great things about Express Moving and Storage. I have no plans on moving again any time soon, but if I do I will beg Robin to send a team out to me.

Fantastic service, can’t give enough praise. The crew was professional and very efficient - packed and moved way faster than I thought they would. I had more stuff than I anticipated and the company worked with me to get a second truck and move everything, and did this with less than 24hr heads up. I’ve done 12 moves over the past 17 years (military), this was the the BEST experience I’ve had…and it was not a military move (maybe DOD should look at contracting with great companies like this, not the trash they currently use).

My moving team at Express Moving and Storage did an amazing job! They were as good or better than any of the movers I’ve had during my frequent moves. Work team showed up a few minutes early, worked non-stop until truck was loaded, then drove 1 hr. to new home , unloaded and put all bedding and furniture together. A very long day, but the team was amazing. Thank you, Ex[press moving

My four movers were fast and efficient! They did the move faster than the quote (and I ended up having more stuff than I initially thought) so the move came in under time and thus under budget. The movers were able to navigate my furniture into my new space and helped build the bed and otherwise set things to rights. Using them made moving a breeze and I plan to hire them again in the future.
