We had such a wonderful trip to Luoyang! The city is rich in history and has a peaceful atmosphere. We booked our trip through China Highlights, and everything was perfectly arranged. Our guide, Lisa, was fantastic—thoughtful and flexible. Even though visiting the Luoyang Museum wasn’t originally in our plan, she helped us secure reservations and made it happen. Lisa is incredibly knowledgeable, so we learned so much about the history of both Luoyang and China. As a bonus, she’s also a great photographer! Review for Cherry in Louyang As part of an almost month long trip to China organized incredibly professionally by Liz Li, we just finished our fourth city, Louyang, and it was the most professional job we've seen. Cherry must be a historian because she gave us great descriptions of everything we saw. She even added a museum visit that was not included and provided two hours of very detailed history. If I come back to China, I want to come back to Louyang and want Cherry to be my guide. Like every other city planned by Liz, Cherry was 1) Always on time 2) Very clear with explanations 3) Described all locations, Temple, Grottoes, Pagoda, Museum with great detail She always gave us perfect historical background of the places we visited Made sure we always had the food we wanted and described it before we sat down to eat We did not ask her about her personal background, but I think she was a historian before this

My husband and I visited Datong and Pingyao with a private tour from China Highlights. It was great! Excellent service, the guides were very knowledgeable about the history of both cities, showing us the best cultural and historical places and taking us to local restaurants with delicious and good-quality Chinese food. Just finished a memorable journey through Guangzhou, Dali, and Kunming with my husband, organized by China Highlights. What started as a stressful situation turned into an experience that truly showed the value of a great travel company. Our trip actually began with a big hiccup — we misread the flight time and missed our flight. It could have ruined the whole plan, but the China Highlights trip coordinator (Bert) and local guide (Karen) immediately stepped in, calmly helping us rearrange flight, pickup time and location so we could continue our journey with minimal disruption. That level of responsiveness set the tone for the rest of the trip. Throughout the journey, every guide and driver we met was exceptionally knowledgeable, professional, and flexible. They were not only well prepared with deep cultural and historical knowledge, but also very attentive to our personal interests and pace as travelers. We never felt rushed, and they were always happy to adapt the schedule. In Dali, an unexpected accident happened — I fell and injured my leg. Once again, the team responded immediately. Bert worked closely with our local guide Sally to adjust the itinerary and arrange medical care in Kunming, where we were taken to the top orthopedic specialists at Yunnan First Provincial Hospital. The agency even arranged a wheelchair and seamless accessibility assistance for the transfer from Dali to Kunming, making the journey manageable despite the injury. From hospital coordination to transportation and daily logistics, Sally and our local guide in Kunming (小雅）took care of every detail with extraordinary patience and kindness. Their support allowed us to continue the trip safely and comfortably, even under difficult circumstances. Travel rarely goes perfectly, but what matters most is how people respond when things don’t go according to plan. In our case, the team at China Highlights went above and beyond. Their professionalism, quick problem-solving, and genuine care made all the difference. Despite the unexpected challenges, this trip will remain a meaningful and unforgettable experience for us.
