I embarked on the 2.5 hours Halloween cruise onboard the luxury Tall Ship Royal Albatross.
Regular boarding started from 5pm and it was a quick process I was registered and onboard the ship in less than 5 minutes!
The Halloween cruise comes inclusive of a 5-course dinner.
The starter was ciabatta bread with butter. It was fluffy and delicious.
The appetizer, titled Phantoms First Light, consists of a delicate arrangement of plant-based salmon with a delicate yuzu wasabi vinaigrette exquisitely layered with avocado and finished with micro-greens & side of cornichons. There is even a biscuit shaped to look like a finger, in keeping with the Halloween theme!
The soup, titled Witches’ Brew, is made with silken roma tomato velouté, delicately infused with basil essence and a touch of roasted garlic, finished with a swirl of crème fraîche. It has the right amount of sweet and sourness for me!
The entrée, titled Sea of Shadows, consists of a pan-seared Chilean sea bass, served with caramelised leeks, harissa, & a refreshing fennel broth. The bat shaped biscuit is a nice touch to maintain the Halloween theme.
The closing dish, titled Graveyard Duet, came with a twin preparation of quail, featuring a crispy fried quail with tulip dill & lemon remoulade, alongside a baked quail with potato hasselback & asparagus, finished with a rich raspberry jus. It was a good item to end the meal and came with very interesting textures.
The dessert consists of fruits and cakes and there is even a pastry item shaped like and eyeball!
My server, Josie, was very responsive and helpful and even gave me a quick rundown of the places that the Royal Albatross passed by.
This trip was worth every single cent, I would definitely be back!
