Following a total knee replacement, I was looking for a home visit physio given expected limited mobility post op rather than having to travel somewhere. Mark at Post Op Home Physio initially came 2x weekly (and later once a week) and provided me with an exercise programme, a great app with video explanations of the exercises, and balanced this with massage, manipulation and advice, all in the comfort of my own home. It was very helpful Mark could share his experience of recovery of other knee replacement patients and also could provide a physiolab icemachine at a very competitive price. I’m sure my recovery would have been a lot slower without Mark’s help. I would highly recommend Mark and Post Op Home Physio to anybody seeking to recover post op or from an injury.

After two ACL surgeries, I was having regular physio visits by Julia for months. She would give me thorough exercises to do every week. The sessions were efficient, and productive and I am now happy to say that I'm running marathons again! She was also very friendly and always on-time! I had five physio sessions with Julia following hip-replacement surgery. Julia started with gentle exercises, progressing along an increasingly challenging programme as my pain subsided and my mobility improved. After five sessions, I felt I had improved significantly and had a full exercise programme to follow, allowing me to continue independently thanks to Julia's professional guidance and engagement. In January, I had a full knee replacement. Julia Unsworth took care of me through my rehabilitation over the next few months, initially visiting twice a week to help me through that really tough initial phase. My outcomes were really good - in terms of recovery, flexion/straightening and gradual strength/stability. Julia constantly evolved the rehab exercises that I had to complete between visits and this helped accelerate my recovery. Six months on I have pretty much begun full training again undertaking HIIT classes at F45. Highly recommended due to specific knowledge and experience of this type of rehabilitation. Following an initial assessment I engaged Ben to come to my home for 5 post operative physio sessions after a spinal decompression, laminectomy and fusion. I found him to be professional, caring and extremely helpful with my recovery. His exercises were always tailored to what we collaboratively felt appropriate and they always pushed me to move forward with my strength and mobility. He has given me the tools to think carefully about movement generally and crucially the importance of strength in my core. I am grateful for his expertise and kindness.

Mark visited me at home for about six weeks after I had a knee replacement operation. I was given a set of exercises to do daily and used the app to record my daily progress. Mark adapted the program as my knee became more mobile. He was encouraging and positive, while gently pushing me to increase the flex of the knee. The convenience of home visits was a real plus.

I was fortunate enough to have a very successful full knee replacement. I believe a lot of that success was due to the excellent serice I had from Mark. Being seen at home was so convenient and I was given the greatest confidence in the regime he devised (and constantly adjusted) which helped keep me on the straight and narrow and fully focused on getting back to normal as quickly as possible. Proper rehab is an essential component of knee surgery and I can unhesitatingly recommend Mark in particular and the firm in general.

I chose Adam as I had received great feedback from my mother in law and I was not disappointed. It would be fair to say my movement was very limited following a broken femur. Adam started me off on lots of exercises to initially improve movement. It wasn’t easy, but Adam was very encouraging and supportive. He assured me, with effort, week on week improvement would come and it did. I never thought I would ever do that leg lift but we got there! We had some tight deadlines to hit in order for me to go on holiday but we made it, and he was able to reassure me that the leg would not overly hinder the week away. After about 7 sessions I was walking well and he was able to discharge me. I would happily recommend Adam.

Having had my ACL reconstructed 15 years ago with limited NHS physio afterwards, I was determined to not make the same mistakes with my recent medial meniscectomy which was carried out on the same knee. I contacted Post Op Physio a few weeks before my operation and have been nothing but impressed since the first contact. Julia came to my house for an initial assessment and I booked the x5 package. Each session was carefully considered and I have learned to use muscles I didn’t know I had. Julia’s approach was incredibly professional, her knowledge and understanding of how to help me grow in strength each session was remarkable and after the six meetings I have had, I am finally pain free and able to play golf again which was my number one goal. The most impressive thing to me was that I always felt Julia genuinely cared about my rehabilitation and gave me the confidence to keep improving. She really is outstanding at her job and a credit to her profession . I wouldn’t have recovered so well without her expertise. Worth every penny and more.

Had several weeks of home physio after partial knee replacements on BOTH knees at the same time. My sessions (also with Julia, echoing similar earlier reviews!) couldn't have been better. Not only punctual+reliable but also very informative, professional, enthusiastic, caring AND FUN... Wish I could have more treatments but have to do a fair bit myself too!!!!!

Following a fall resulting in a shiny new metal hip, I can't give enough praise to Post Op Home Physio. My mum had a few physio sessions with Julia post knee replacement surgery, following a fall and long stay in hospital. Julia helped give her confidence to manage the stairs and walk outside, which she'd not done in ages! Prior to having Total Knee Replacement Surgery in March I was advised that the two most important things to have in place to ensure the best possible recovery post op, were a good physio and an ice machine (for the first few weeks). Mark Wilkinson from Post Op Home Physio came highly recommended by my surgeon. Mark arranged for the ice machine to be delivered on the same day as his first visit (4 days after surgery). He assessed my situation and made a plan for my rehabilitation. Mark is an excellent Physio. He helped me understand why it was vital to be patient and appreciate the healing taking place following a total knee replacement. With this in mind at eighteen weeks post op I am moving well, doing lots of walking, very gentle cycling in the gym and follow the exercises he has given me which will help as I go forward and continue with my recovery. After my total knee replacement surgery I was directed to have rehabilitation with post op home physio and Mark Wilkinson precisely I found that post op physio with Mark was very beneficial to my recovery, it helped me over difficult times and allowed greater progress in recovery. Mark is highly knowledgeable and professional physio would totally recommend him , even after a bout of covid when my recovery stalled, he patiently and expertly helped me back to catch up and extend my progress for which I am grateful. Mark came to me after a total hip replacement, prior to the operation I had been virtually immobile, so needed his help to increase my stamina and confidence. He put me through a set of graded exercises to strengthen the hip and thigh muscles and I am now well on the way to recovery, moving more freely and confidently. Following my knee replacement the 2 weekly sessions with Post Op Home Physio has been of huge benefit. Harvey has monitored my progress week on week, giving encouragement & pushing me to get the most movement & flexibility. It has undoubtably been the best investment to my recovery.

We cannot recommend Mark's team highly enough. We booked a block of sessions to help my husband recover from a total hip replacement in early Dec 2021. Matt, the assigned physio, was clear and constructive, providing encouragement and reassurance about progress and expectations. My husband was always pushing boundaries and Matt handled his (over)enthusiasm practically and sensitively. This was an valuable addition following surgery on the NHS (SWLEOC). BTW, the NHS is brilliant - we don't know how lucky we are!

I searched long and hard for home physio after knee replacements. I'm glad I made the effort. Mark has helped enormously to steer me through my recovery. Firstly, he thoroughly assessed my condition and history. He is an expert in manual therapy - both encouraging while instinctively knowing the limits. Almost like a good doctor. Anyone who has had knee replacements will know that recovery is slow, painful and at times quite depressing. Mark has a very positive attitude and a kind outlook. I always feel better after the sessions. Most importantly, I always feel safe in his hands. And he's always on time!

The physiotherapist Harvey is professional and knowledgeable and has given useful advice on my rehabilitation exercises. He’s also kind and gentle and earnest to help. Service arrangement is efficient and speedy.

Mark provides an excellent service for those needing physio after surgery. Having difficulty walking and only public transport, home visits were vital for me. Mark was punctual, friendly and encouraging. He took me through almost two months of progressive work to restore mobility and strength in my knee so that I was able to return to work earlier than expected. He is a good communicator. This is the second time I've worked with Mark. He was wonderfully helpful after I had knee replacements 4 years ago and now he's coaching me through a total shoulder replacement where the recovery period can be slow and frustrating. He combines an ultra careful initial assessment with highly personalised exercise, just the right balance between too easy and too hard. Following my NHS hip replacement 3 months ago - I have used this company several times and the service has been exemplary. Mark has been totally professional, informative and punctual. He gave me great confidence after a difficult first 3 weeks following my op. All the exercises are explained fully and he answered all my questions thoroughly. Also, I never felt pressurised to have any more sessions than I needed. It was great to have the sessions taking place in my own home. I can honestly say the physio sessions have had a positive affect both physically and mentally. Mark immediately makes you feel at ease and has a very pleasant nature, which for me was very important. I was in a bad way since I broke my femur at the knee nearly 2 years ago, in fact it seemed to be getting worse instead of better. From even the first session the improvement was amazing. I then went on to do the 5 sessions, I'm 67 and have osteoarthritis in both knees so it was never going to be an easy task but I put my trust in Mark and he thought me to loose the fear I had of doing more damage to my knee. I'm now able to use my exercise bike, my knee didn't bend enough to go round on the peddle. I'm walking so much better, the stiffness goes quickly and very little pain. Best of all, for me is, I can get down on my exercise mat and get back up again. I could not do that for 2 years. So I can truly recommend Mark and the physio sessions it's worked wonders for me. It’s been a pleasure to deal with Mark from PostOp Hope Physio: from organising to get a physiotherapist (Harvey) to come to my hotel room, to do the paper work of billing, all is very smooth. Harvey is a great professional and made me feel very comfortable starting with my rehabilitation after my shoulder operation. I specially appreciated that he sent me right after each session a pdf with the exercises for me and he was available for any questions by text message. Strongly recommended.

I had a meniscus repair done this April and I enlisted the help of Mark with my post operative physiotherapy. Mark was enthusiastic, knowledgeable and provided tailored care to my stage of recovery. Going with Post Op Home Physiotherapy was important to me as it was more regular than the NHS service provided. Would recommend for anyone needing high service aftercare!

Being the only driver in my family and in lockdown - I couldn’t believe my luck when I found Post Op Home Physio on google. Someone who could come to my house was perfect, as I was not able to go anywhere easily myself. I broke my ankle whilst on holiday. I didn’t need an operation but I needed a physiotherapist. Having an accident at the start of the Covid pandemic meant delays and a misdiagnosis by the hospital. By the time I met Adam I was very disheartened. Adam was a god send. He helped me every step of the way (literally!). Psychologically I was not in a good place. Adam helped me overcome the mental and physical hurdles. I feared I might not walk again until I met him. Now I am walking nearly 4,000 steps each walk unaided and I am driving, I am now fully functional thanks to Adams assistance and support. I could not recommend Adam highly enough. I have total trust in him and he always kept me informed of the next stages and what to expect. It was also reassuring to know if I had any questions inbetween appointments he was there to assist. Safety during the pandemic has been very important and Adam also wears a mask and other PPE to ensure you are kept safe.

My mother has needed knee replacements for several years. She had had several episodes of not being able to move for several hours till she could get help. This was affecting all aspects of life particularly her health. Nonetheless she was resisting suggestions from me to get knee replacements. Within one or two sessions with Mark she was all for having the procedure. It was just short of a miracle. Whilst a large financial undertaking I have organised for Mark and his colleagues to visit 4 times a week in anticipation of her operation. She is now, mostly, using her walker and can move much more independently. My mother looks forward to the sessions. This is all due to Mark and his team's measured, knowledgeable and kind approach. I'm very grateful to them.

Mark at Post Op Home Physio first came to work with my mother after she broke her hip. I can’t recommend him highly enough. Very professional but also empathetic and with a sense of humour. And he is such an expert on working with elderly patients and was able to deal confidently and sensitively with all the challenges of recovering from such an injury. Now post-Covid, he has been able to return and he is continuing to work with my mother doing general confidence-building and balance work and the difference in just a few sessions is really startling. She has dispensed with her walking stick and is striding out with confidence.

I really enjoyed working with the physiotherapist and quickly got my strength back with the help of her skills and expertise - and good humour!

I really rate Mark. I've had two hip replacements, one after the other, the first of which was pretty challenging immediately afterward. I was delighted to discover Post Op Home Physio prior to my hip replacement. I made a booking with Mark for a week after the operation and it has been a more than positive result. To have home visits seem to me to have the best outcome. Not only do you feel fragile and vulnerable after surgery and the thought of having to make your way to a Physio Studio is daunting but it is also important to start physio as soon as possible. Also the physio can assess the layout of your home - advantages and disadvantages - and provide appropriate exercises. Mark had me walking up and down the street on that first appointment! I have no hesitation in recommending Post Op Home Physic - yes it is an extra expense but Health is Wealth.

Mark is a great physio who helped me get back on my feet after my surgery. The fact that the physio is at home was very useful straight after my surgery as I wasn’t able to travel easily.

I've recently had a hip replacement then I damaged my knee on the same leg as my new hip and was in Very great pain and quite desperate for some help. I found it extremely difficult to walk without pain. Mark from post-op home physio got straight to the problem and expertly helped me to stand and begin to move a bit. The exercise regime was well explained and was progressively developed week on week. I am now able to walk comfortably with crutches and and relying much less on painkillers. My pain levels are much less and my confidence has improved greatly. I understand what the exercise program is achieving and know I've got to get on with it. I have been encouraged throughout and hope to be walking with a stick very soon.
