When I walked into Acquiesce, I was nervous, uncertain and desperate. The experience starts when you make the first call, as you're booked in for a phone consultation to ensure the rehab is a right fit for your needs. A start date is given, but can sometimes be bought forward due to space. The centre keeps you fully updated on this so you’re never left in limbo. A practitioner (mine was Ellie) will call you regularly before to ensure you’re doing okay before you go in. I was greeted by Lesley on my first day who undertook an extensive screening to ensure I was okay to be there. The most nerve racking part is walking into the whole group - but trust me when I say this is hardest part, as 10 minutes later you feel welcomed, accepted and appreciated. The rehab includes holistic, physical and class room based sessions to educate, prepare and support clients to be ready for a life without alcohol. Many staff are in recovery themselves and those who aren’t, are incredibly aware and knowledgeable. The one thing everyone at Acquiesce has in common is a genuine desire to help people in their early recovery. Without acquiesce, I’ve no idea where I’d be, but it certainly wouldn’t be as in nearly as positive a place as I am now. Thank you - and take the leap. You won’t regret it for a second.

I checked into acquiesce reluctantly at first I must admit as I was in denial, but from the moment I walked through the door I felt safe and welcomed by the staff and my peers , I was understandably nervous as I didn’t know what to expect, but I soon settled in to my new routine and living arrangements . The sessions were an invaluable start to my recovery and I learnt so much about addiction, both formally and informally. As well as workshops and sessions we were also offered yoga, meditation, acupuncture and reiki, that was as well as a trip to the park and to the guy once a week. I didn’t realise how much my addiction had affected my family and am forever grateful to them for their love and support, just one of the many other things acquiesce taught me how to navigate. Without acquiesce , the amazing staff and my peers , some of whom will be friends for life because of everything we have shared I would not be where I am today, living a happy sober life , I know it’s a long road as this change is for life , but with all the support and ‘tools ‘ I have been given ‘I’ve got this ‘ it has NOT got me anymore. Checking into acquiesce was honestly the best things I could ever have done to start my recovery and I would highly recommend it to anyone who wants to make a positive change. Picking up the phone and admitting myself into Acquiesce was the best starting point of my recovery by far. I attended Acquiesce in the summer of 2025 after many unsuccessful attempts to stop drinking and experiencing several relapses. While I won’t go into the details of my drinking/addiction history—since it’s similar to the stories of many people living with addiction—I knew I needed to give myself the best chance of change. I felt a little apprehensive about going, but I also knew I had to approach my four-week stay with determination and a willingness to learn. The experience was both challenging and rewarding. Sharing accommodation with people I had never met before, while taking responsibility for cooking, cleaning etc. was a big adjustment. Looking back, I see how valuable this was for my healing—helping me stay grounded, connected, and better prepared to return to everyday life. Even though I was out of my comfort zone, my housemates and everybody welcomed me warmly and created a real sense of community and support. I cannot praise the staff at Acquiesce highly enough. I won’t mention individuals because every member of the team contributed to my journey. They were caring, compassionate, and committed to equipping me for recovery and long-term wellbeing. The staff treated me with respect, not as just another patient, and always made me feel safe, heard, and supported. The structured program—including one-on-one sessions, group work and daily activities—provided me with tools I continue to use in my everyday life. As I write this, I am three months into my recovery. I’ve been following my ‘Relapse Prevention Plan’ closely, using it to manage risks, apply new skills, and stay consistent with AA meetings. Completing and updating the plan has been invaluable, especially since leaving rehab. While recovery is a deeply personal journey, I cannot overstate how important Acquiesce has been in giving me renewed purpose. I left with more confidence, hope, and gratitude than I’ve felt in a long time. I now fully accept that I am an addict and always will be—but I also know I have the tools with a renewed determination to live a healthy and happy life with my family, free from alcohol and substances. For the first time in years, I believe I can move forward with faith and belief.

If I could give you a million stars I would. Words can not express my gratitude for this place, the owners and the staff! Every single person involved in Acquiesce are my Hero's and have performed a minor miracle on me. I recently left this rehab facility after admitting myself for a 28 day program and I am now 50 days clean and Sober. That my not seem a lot but let me tell you that I could not go a day without using, in fact, if I was awake I was using cocaine and drinking Alcohol. The work that these guys put in not only teaches you the tools required to resist the temptations but the knowledge to think differently and be more in touch with yourself that you don't actually ever want to pick up. I have never been happier, I am the most clean I have been in over 28 years and to be honest I could right a essay on why Acquiesce should be anyone's first choice when it comes to a rehab facility and getting yourself clean. What can I say! This place is phenomenal, very well run, lovely comfortable housing, sessions are all very informal, learning more and more everyday and great tools to cope, even some fun sessions thrown in to break it up, all the staff are magnificent and will do everything to help, this place has definitely been a big part in changing my life for the better, highly recommend!

I stayed at Acquiesce for 28 days and it honestly saved my life. The team are amazing - always going above and beyond and nothing is too much for them. The programme was catered to everyone’s needs and I loved the holistic side of it - yoga, reiki, acupuncture and massages. We also attended a lovely gym once a week where I could relax in the sauna. The aftercare offered is exceptional and I felt at ease leaving treatment knowing I had the support from Acquiesce and their phone numbers. The groups are small and everyone is encouraged to take part. I loved every minute even though I was at such a low upon admission. In the nicest way possible, I hope I don’t come back but for whoever is reading this review, look no further!

I have recently completed 6 weeks at Acquiesce treatment centre, wow it has truly saved my life. The whole experience was bitter sweet, but the BEST 6 weeks. Going to try mention the points I was most worried about / curious in hopes it helps someone. General: As a 23year old I was very anxious about coming to the treatment centre for numerous reasons, one being ‘ I won’t get on with 50 year old alcoholics’ (( prejudice of me, but I ironically i am friends with those ‘50 yr old alcoholics’ and I'm so grateful that i am <3)) The fellowship doesn’t discriminate and neither does addiction Just wanted to mention that for anyone younger with similar concerns. I have made some genuine life long connections which is something I really worried about not being able to do and coming back out to life with no one who understands me. The community within Acquiesce and the fellowship is unexplainable, in the most amazing way. It is like one big supportive family including the staff. It’s a huge step to take seeking help and I believe Acquiesce is the place to do it. We researched numerous treatment centres around the UK with various cost, and chose here due to the reviews, they speak for themselves. I’ve found my spark & confidence, other people will see it in you and you will feel it if you follow the programme and are willing. Staff/Peers: I went into treatment thinking the staff aren’t going to be able to relate and they’re just there to do a job & get paid… it couldn’t be further from the truth. They genuinely care about you and your recovery, I didn’t feel judged or dismissed at any point. The sessions are done in a way where you don’t feel like you’re back at school in a classroom. The thoughts or feelings that feel insane, they won’t bat an eyelid nor will your peers. Whenever & wherever they can, they will help you, as well as having a laugh with you. Be forever grateful for all of them and can’t wait to see them again when I can come in for my 6+ month talk :) Treatment: The days don’t feel too long, 10am to 3.30pm. There’s 3 breaks in-between to break up the day. They offer CBT & SMART recovery sessions, some naturally you’ll engage with more than others, some will be more emotional for you than others. Lots of handouts & workbooks are given so you can refer back and re-visit. The more science based sessions with Simon are very interesting, they are shared in a way that gives you enough knowledge on it without it being over baring & too much to not understand. Those are the ones i find myself thinking back on whilst in recovery, the physical effects it had on me. There is the right balance of Holistic therapies; Reiki, Acupuncture, Yoga, massage & meditation. I enjoyed all the above and continue practicing more during my recovery. Such an eye opening time, a lot of it I am introducing into the peoples around me lives too. Residential: Houses are in a different location from the treatment centre. Good spaces, big communal areas. Basic supplies provided. Shopping twice a week, Mondays & Thursdays, cash needed but can go to cash machines the day before. Comfy clothes, and something with a hood / coat for the walks on Sundays in case it rains. I could go on. A lovely place to be, in a very hard but powerful period of your life. Thank you Acquiesce for helping shape me into the women I am becoming, gifting me best friends and a new way of life 🙏

Amazing experience at Acquiesce from the first minute to leaving. Incredible, knowledgable and friendly staff really helped me understand my issues and prepare me for life moving forward happy, confident and positive. I was sceptical at first about all the positive reviews in all honesty I thought how could a rehabilitation centre be so good 😆 My experience was that I wanted to change and was given all the tools and professional help I needed, they provide smart recovery tools and AA step based work- I made some good friends when I was there and got on with all the staff who are all lovely, it was a very emotional journey in which I myself had bottled up all over the years linked to my drinking and substance abuse, I understand my triggers and can process my emotions better without using my old coping tools. I have a lot to learn and process in my recovery but can honestly say I am enjoying my sobriety and will continue to carry on the right path All I can say is if you feel hopeless in yourself Acquiesce will help you out of that rut and give you the power to help yourself!! Can’t thank Acquiesce enough, all the staff were amazing, nothing was too much trouble. Every practitioner went above and beyond to help you whilst in rehab. I would highly recommend anyone that’s struggling, doesn’t know which way to turn. To book into Acquiesce. The maximum number of peers would be 12. So the care is very personalised. I have learnt so much in the 28 days I was there, and made some livelong friends. I am so grateful for everything they did to help me on my first leg of my journey ti recovery.

Acquiesce saved my life. I was in the darkest place on earth, swallowed by addiction. I had lost all hope, I'd tried everything to get better on my own and failed every time. I am now 44 days clean and sober and the happiest I have been in 16 years, and it's all thanks to Acquiesce. The moment I walked through the doors, I took a big breathe outwards because these people have got your back. The practitioners in this centre are the most caring, compassionate, knowledgeable and inspirational people I have ever met. Each one brings a unique quality to the program, qualities that will help bring you back to who you were meant to be. The sessions are well thought out, engaging, and I'd even say fun! I had a great time at rehab; there were tears but there was also laughter and a real sense of community. There is plenty on offer for mental health and body treatments such as yoga, meditation, reiki, massage and acupuncture - all held by professionals in their field and I loved each one - very beneficial. The housing is clean, spacious, and a real home from home. The garden is a great space to get some air and just have a minute to yourself or sit with your new friends. I'd like to tell anyone reading this right now who is thinking about going to Acquiesce for their treatment; do it! Acquiesce changed my life for the better. If you work hard and give your all to the program, then they will change your life too. It will be the best experience of your life, I promise. Addiction had taken over my life in every way — mentally, physically, emotionally. But today, I’m proud to say I’m 70 days sober, and I owe a massive part of that to Acquiesce Rehab in Bolton. From the moment I arrived, the support was incredible. The staff are not just professionals — they’re compassionate, understanding, and genuinely care about your recovery. ACQUIESCE YOU GAVE ME A LIFE BEYOND MY WILDEST DREAMS !!!!! What can I say about my 28 days with you , I was very nervous coming in to treatment center but within ten minutes of meeting all staff/practitioners then the group (im now blessed to call these guys my forever friends) you all made me feel so welcome and at ease , the group sessions were all very good and indepth no one was left out and if anyone including myself was struggling with anything in the session you would take time to help us gain knowledge of that subject .... the center its self is very modern, kitchen facilities all nice and clean , when we wasn't doing session the different groups you put on from yoga to rekki to just going for a kick about and a ice cream in the park loved them all. The house were i stopped was loverly , nice room with on-suite yet again cleanliness was good all through house with a cleaner coming in to do the rooms and carpets etc a few little things went wrong (oven door broke) but was fixed the same day before we got back from treatment center The only bad point and im really picking at things id advise to take a blackout eye mask as the curtains arnt blackout and sun comes through when it rises. Im currently 44 days sober, i cannot thank you enough for everything you have done and look forward to seeing you all in 6 month to do a share to a group in your treatment center.

I have been to three other Rehab centres on my journey to find recovery and I have never had an experience that even comes close to Acquiesce. I entered a completely broken man with no hope, full of fear and hatred for myself. Within the 28 days of treatment I left with my head held high, value for myself and a sense of purpose and hope. I cannot thank the staff enough for such kindness and care towards me and even after leaving I still feel supported by their phone calls and after care groups which are so valued to me. I have an amazing opportunity to move forward in my life now and it’s all down to the amazing set up, knowledge of the staff and the sessions which provided me with very useful tools to use when I encounter challenges. I have used these tools since leaving and it has helped me stay clean. The house I stayed in was beautiful, comfy and clean with a lovely atmosphere and nice people. I really enjoyed all the holistic therapies on offer such as Yoga, Acupuncture, Reiki and massage which were new to me and now I’m looking to continue in my life. This place is amazing and can’t stress enough how much gratitude I have. Life changing experience!!! When I say that Acquiesce changed the whole direction of my life, it isn't an understatement. The person who walked out wasn't recognisable from the person who walked in. The staff are what makes Acquiesce such an amazing place, every single one of them, all they want to do is see you develop and help you succeed! When I first came to senses that I couldn’t do this alone and I needed help just from the first phone call I knew this was the place to go. You’ve got a imagine of what you think rehabs gonna be like which is a scary thought but it’s nothing like that all soon as you walk thought that front door the staff are so caring and just no how to put you at ease and the peers they all make you feel so welcome. The staff are easy to talk to and all full of knowledge to help you start your recovery. In such a small period of time I feel like a different person doing stuff now that I never would have thought about doing before. Dear the amazing team at Acquiesce, Words can’t describe how amazing the team at Acquiesce are I was a someone who was taking cocaine socially for around 20 years but the last 2 years was taking it every day and in big amounts. Then one Friday night breaking into the Saturday morning just before Christmas December 2024 I knew this had to stop or i was going in a wooden box. I made the telephone call and spoke to an absolute amazing soft spoken guy called Paul on the phone he never judged me and said we can help you alot as long as you can admit you have an addiction/habit after a conversation i was so lucky he could get me in the following day. I left Aberdeen at 2am in the morning in a complete mess my skin was a mess literally a bag of bones travelling 6 hours thinking alsorts. When landing outside nervous and scared I press the buzzer and a lovely smiling staff member called Nicole came and opened the door just her smile I knew I was in the right place to some how get rid of this dirty habit I had. Then after a little chat was taken to meet other people that had come to get help like me so when I entered the room everyone was so welcoming standing up shaking hands or even a little cuddle it was such a lovely atmosphere and then the next day met a amazing practitioner called Ellie who never judged me and went through stuff where I felt comfortable so if your looking for assistance and you need help or a family member and they can admit there is a problem listen make the call to Acquiesce and believe me the programme they do and the tools and therapies they give you are so unreal. There is a photo taken going in and a photo taking when you leave believe me the change in your life after the programme you will wish you did it sooner i and living a life now like flying without wings so fresh so happy and loving family life too. so to this very special team from the bottom of my heart till the day I die I will not forget you as my life was finished without you ❤️❤️❤️❤️.

Acquiesce changed my life , went in with apprehension and very nervous, but there no need as all the staff were very welcoming and made me feel relaxed and calm, over the time I was there I learnt many life skills , as I hadn't been myself for some time , and was in a bad place, they helped me through from the start to leaving and getting the old Sally back that everyone loved , I still have away to go , but I am 74 days clean , with a clearer mind and looking forward to the future. I can't thank them enough.

Came to acquiesce 2 weeks ago a shadow of my former self. In 2 short weeks I have essentially been reborn! I would go as far to say that it has been 1 of the best experiences I have ever had. The staff are absolutely amazing!! Encouraging, kind and super professional. The people in rehab I have meet are absolutely amazing,. Friends for life! Rehab is very daunting place for everyone but as soon as I took my first step through them doors I was welcomed with nothing but smiles and hugs and the most amazing support. Any minute of the day that I felt overwhelmed or upset I could always go to the staff and they would reassure me with the best of support, the sessions are great with lots of information in them.The bedrooms have a great layout with a desk for work and lots of space, the beds are also very comfy. The house is very homely where you can feel relaxed at all times.

As someone who has relapsed many times during my pursuit of total sobriety; Acquiesce has given me the tools and skills I needed to have genuine hope and belief that I can actually do it for real this time, without relapsing! I'm currently 3 months sober after a month's stay there back in November, feeling happier than I've felt in about a decade. All of the staff are kind, compassionate, attentive and thorough with their teaching in the group sessions and the one-to-one sessions. My experience has shaped the rest of my life going forward. The staff at Acquiesce embraced me with open arms and I felt at ease completely straight away, it was a breath of fresh air because as soon as I walked through their doors I truly felt like I could breathe for the first time in a long time. Their building and their facilities were tranquil, clean, and very well maintained. That is not by accident, it is so professional that the work required to help us recover starts with the littlest things, ‘’Tidy House, Tidy Mind’’! The education I received about myself and about my disease was paramount to the staff’s priorities and it was delivered consistently with professionalism, compassion and kindness from every single member of staff. Most of the staff are in recovery themselves so being open and honest came with such ease that I was able to disclose comfortably things that I couldn’t or wouldn’t disclose to anyone else and in doing so it genuinely cleansed my soul. I can honestly say hand on my heart that if there was something the staff could do for you that was beneficial for you personally, or for your recovery they will go above and beyond to help you. They do truly want to see every client succeed and they care about the clients in their hearts, they care so deeply about their vocation. I lived a lot of my adult years never believing I fitted in anywhere until I got to the doors of Acquiesce and was surrounded by people who immediately were ‘’my people’’ I truly felt like I was home! I could talk about all their qualifications and how clever and thoroughly trained they all are but that’s a given, and most rehabs have that, but what makes Acquiesce superior to other treatment places is the pure unconditional support and acceptance they give to every client who comes through the doors to recover and find a new way of life. The programme is expertly designed to incorporate a holistic approach to treatment, ranging from cbt sessions, to smart recovery, to the 12 step programme, and even goes beyond the classroom to include self care and recreational activities such as the gym, visits to the park and cafe’s, massage, reiki, and acupuncture all of which are recovery based to help you address every part of your life that your disease has affected. The residential accommodation is modern, clean, and most importantly cosy. You don’t feel like your staying in a building that has transient people coming and going you find yourself feeling at ease and at peace in your surroundings, almost as if you’ve entered a retreat. The urban model that Acquiesce offers keeps clients in the heart of their lives whilst also giving them the tools and education to deal with ‘’life on life terms’’ without the need for any substances or whatever your addiction may be. The peers I’ve met along my journey some of them are my very best friends to this day and I can’t imagine my life without them anymore. The staff have also followed up on my recovery calls and supported me throughout difficult times in my journey whether a recovery call was due for me or not. They are always there on the end of the phone for love, support and guidance. I arrived at Acquiesce a broken shattered soul, and this place helped me stand back up again. I truly believed I was a hopeless case and was resigned to the fact that I could never be or live anything different to what I had been for the years before in my addiction. Boy was I wrong, and I had to eat humble pie! Bucket loads of it. Acquiesce taught me that there is a solution! It taught me to trust again, and it taught me most importantly that there truly is a life beyond your wildest dreams waiting for you in recovery! I went into Acquiesce after realising I had a serious addiction and knew I needed to seek help. I was doubting my decision all week before the day came when I walked through the doors, not knowing what to expect, I can honestly say from the bottom of my heart within seconds I felt at home. I was greeted with open arms by the brilliant staff and found it so easy to settle in. I was put at ease by everyone as soon as I walked in and I never looked back. No one will judge you or look at you in any bad way, the sessions the staff delivered varied daily, there was never a stupid question in the eyes of the staff or my peers, everyone supported each other every hour of the day. I am a different person today than the person who entered the doors, powerless to my addiction. I was taught so many things to help me recover and from the bottom of my heart when the day came of my exit, I didn’t want to leave, it really is a home, I am now 60 days clean from leaving Acquiesce and still apply the methods and tools taught to me by the wonderful staff daily. If there’s anyone reading this doubting wether to make the call for help, please believe you will have no regrets in coming to this warm, loving place, every single one of the staff are excellent, you have 1:1 sessions weekly with your selected practitioner which gave me the opportunity to tell things I hadn’t even told my own family. The progress I made in my time there was massive, please don’t carry on in addiction and Acquiesce is the place to visit without a doubt, it has changed my life and will change anyone’s who visits.

I came to Acquiesce feeling that I had hit my rock bottom. I finally decided to reach out for help for my ketamine addiction as I could not stop using my own will. The staff at Acquiesce were very friendly, supportive and knowledgeable right from the initial call and throughout my 28 day stay in Bolton. Going above and beyond to support me. They also helped my family to understand more about my addiction and this helped me lot. The programme has a good mix of therapies and I have learnt a variety of different tools to help my recovery and support my wellbeing. The facilities are very comfortable and I have walked out of there feeling a new lease of life, finally putting myself and others over my addiction. I have met some fantastic people during my time there who remain a pillar of support. I would like to thank all the staff and peers alike. I would recommend Acquiesce to anyone who is suffering with addiction it’s definitely not a daunting as you would think and it has changed my life.

My wife did 4 weeks rehab ,1st day they lost her bag, felt isolated first few days as just sat in room alone as was not shown how to connect to wi-fi for ipad , and I assumed it would be a new start after the reviews , well she is worse after rehab than prior to entering so I'm very disappointed as I assumed with professional help she would see the light but no she is more addicted now than before ,so either she could not be helped or just refuses to listen.

I have never been so grateful to have met absolutely everyone, peers, staff etc.. it’s absolutely the most inspiring and incredible place!! If you’re struggling at all with addiction.. this is the place honestly words can not describe how grateful I am and will always be!!!
