I was recommended Colonial dog training by a family member, and was connected with a trainer Sarah who specialized in behavioral issues. Sarah’s guidance and training with our dog Clyde was life-changing, with results better than we ever imagined. Our 6 yr old dog had some pretty severe aggression issues with resource guarding. We had gone to multiple other dog trainers over the years for obedience training and later address the aggression issues, but his aggression issues were not improving. Sarah made significant progress with our dog in just the first session. We saw continued improvement over the following weeks and months, and before we knew it our dog’s issues truly seemed to be resolved. He was not just “managed”, but actually had significant behavioral changes for the better. Our life (and our dog’s life) has improved so much based on this change! It gave us all freedom and safety back in our lives, and frankly kept our dog from potentially being re-homed. I think Sarah is an incredible dog trainer, with the ability to truly understand the root of the dog’s behavior problems and read how they respond in different situations. We learned so much through our lessons with her, and she worked to make each lesson specific to our needs and situation. I have absolutely been thrilled with working with Torin!! My 3 year old Pitt/Husky mix has been training with Torin for the past few months and the results so far have been great. He developed fear aggression and reactive behaviors at 2 years old and Torin has helped navigate these behaviors. I myself have learned a lot about dog behavior and how best to handle aggressive and/or reactive behaviors. My dog is visibly better on walks, passing other dogs, and greeting people, so much so that family and friends have commented on our progress! Torin has been so easy to work with and he really listens to what my goals are and is active in achieving these goals of safe interaction with other dogs again. In addition, we have worked on general obedience and tricks, which has just made my dog an overall better listener, confident, and happy pup!
