I started the job myself below the sink and got stuck. David and Jerwyn were on time, professional and clear communicating fix options and costs. They fixed leak under sink and installed shower parts I had. Friendly, helpful and I learned some helpful plumbing tips! Do your homework before hiring any plumber so you know what the job should cost.

Response time =Excellent. Joe performed an inspection of our old toilet and made a cogent recommendation. He clearly explained our options and pricing of the toilet plus possible warranties. We were leaving on vacation the next day (9/3/2025) and didn’t want another toilet flood. Earlier this summer we had one while we were on vacation. Ended a working toilet. The one replaced was 12 years old and almost overflowed after a flush in the morning. Turned off the water to the toilet before it did. Tried plunging with partial success and decided to call in a plumber. Genteel had good YELP ratings and looked to be in the neighborhood on Irving Street . Though we found out later that may have been an old address. No matter. The handoff from Joe to Daniel, who performed the install, was seamless. Both were very professional and a pleasure to work with. Both were good active listeners and answered our questions well. If we have a plumbing issues, I would NOT HESITATE to call Genteel. I would not hesitate to recommend this business. One other thing that struck me was how good the virtual assistant was. I’ m getting close to the “get off my lawn” stage ( @ 67 years old) in life. To date I have not been a fan of virtual assistants whatsoever. Whatever technology Genteel invested in, it is head and shoulders above any other virtual assistant I have dealt with. I didn’t have to scream “CUSTOMER SERVICE” into the phone several times to talk to a person and not a robot. Very human like. And GOOD INCLUDING FOLLOWUP. As a self identifying neo-Luddite, I was impressed.

Genteel Plumbers were great! After calling multiple plumbers they were the only ones should could provide both a same day appointment on a Saturday and a free estimate. Jeremy and Allen arrived on time and were very polite and extremely helpful. They were even willing to speak with our landlord about the plumbing issues. We hired a service from He|| Advisor a few years back and it was a disaster. The pedestal sink was installed and the pipe wasn’t hidden. We live close to Genteel Plumbers and I gave them a call because we want to support local business. First time out, they fixed the prior plumbers dis-repair in no time. And they left the place spotless. ...Fast forward and we just hired them again to replace a toilet. The guys left the place spotless and we’re in and out in < 2 hours. They were professional, totally honest in their quote and did a great job. We’ll keep using them because they are seriously the best around. Genteel Plumbers is committed to doing jobs right and to having satisfied customers. I called them to fix some plumbing issues with our clothes washer (both the hot and cold lines were coming from the hot water heater). They sorted out the problem but when they went to turn the main back on, it wouldn’t come on. Turns out the main line under the driveway was deteriorating. So they pulled all their available crew to come to our house to do an emergency main line replacement, which involved digging a trench in the driveway. Mind you it’s mid-day already and we are leaving for a vacation the next day. They worked as efficiently as they could to get everything finished and just before dark (probably 8pm since this was early July) they drove away. I was incredibly impressed with their workmanship and dedication to getting the job done on our deadline, and they were so kind and respectful. However, the speed with which they had to work meant that they couldn’t put much time and attention to the driveway repair. So I mentioned a few months later that I wasn’t happy with the driveway and they agreed that it wasn’t their best work. I said it wasn’t urgent so anytime they could come repair it would be great. Then early this week they called and said they would repair the driveway. Two days of work later it looks brand new. I will use Genteel Plumbers for all of my plumbing needs in the future. I’ve never experienced a company so committed to customer satisfaction and all around they are incredibly kind, skilled, and quality people.

Graham and Jeremy came through and helped us find a good price and a solution to our issues. I did a bit of haggling, only because they wanted to do a better job than I could afford(or needed). Im sure Graham had to bite his tongue a couple times, but he stayed with me and was determined to help. While I tend to be suspicious of every contractor in the Bay area(mostly due to the inflated costs of most contractor work) I found Graham to be diligent, and very honest. At the end of the day, I learned a little bit about plumbing, saved a little money, and can easily recommend him and his team. UPDATE Had genteel plumbers come out to change my water heater today. Solid professional guys, great work. With good options. If you get your water heater installed they will come out and drain it for the next 5 years once a year. Pretty good deal. Love working with these people

They were responsive and did an okay job that I paid a lot for but don't have much confidence in.

Joe and his assistant were prompt, accommodating (I was on zoom meetings when they arrived and during the repair), efficient, and tidy. I did not have to lift a finger. They removed items that were in the way, returned them to their place when they were done, polished the cabinet (not a part of the repair), and left the place cleaner than they found it. Oh! And the work happened within an hour of my calling. I was really impressed and the work has held up now a couple weeks going strong. Highly highly recommend.
