Love this place, exhibits are always interesting, just a shame that the dancing group didn’t show up last minute so we missed the performance this time. Food at their cafe is also really good.
UPDATE: Their breakfasts are still the best in town!!! Best pancakes in Albuquerque. Excellent and reasonable priced dishes. The IPCC is flying under the radar. If you're a breakfast person, this is the place... highly recommended!
would highly recommend- very informative to learn about native american culture, with authentic items for sale. centrally located and plenty of parking.
Beautiful art, informative exhibits, some of them being interactive. If you time your visit right, you also have the chance to witness history and culture in person by watching ceremonial dances. Also would highly recommend eating at the attached Indian Pueblo Kitchen after your visit.
Connecting to Place, Indian Pueblo Cultural Center
Went for a visit with friends yesterday. Admission is extremely reasonable, especially for seniors. We were offered the opportunity of a free guided tour which we took. Our guide enhanced all of the exhibits by her information. This is a great place to understand the history of the area. The store offered quality artistic items.
An experience on the must list
This is a wonderful display of the history of the Pueblo people and culture. All of the Pueblos of New Mexico are celebrated in this museum with historical artifacts, murals, and other Native art. The Indian Pueblo kitchen has wonderful food and drink for dining. Make sure you see one of their cultural dances, as well as dine in the kitchen.
The Indian Pueblo Cultural Center introduced us to the local tribes culture and history. It was informative, interactive and welll designed. The gift center and restaurant provided local options.
The people were friendly, the food from the restaurant was amazing, the store was superb...
The museum was phenomenal. Well laid out; full of information, history, and art; clean and comfortable physically while also teaching parts of American history that should make people uncomfortable. I wish I had more time to spend.
We met a woman in Gallup that told us we had to stop here on our visit to Albuquerque. We enjoyed the food and found treasures in the gift shop. Unfortunately we missed the dancing! We will have to go back!
It was great to learn about the Pueblo Native Americans and the challenges they had to survive and endure in New Mexico. Our docent really was knowledgeable and took his time teaching us about the building murals and the history behind them and the artists.
Please note the proper name is Indian Pueblo Cultural Center. We visited on a weekday so there were no events scheduled. However, we found the Indian Pueblo Kitchen restaurant offering delicious dishes at reasonable prices. There is also a fine museum with modest admission prices. The gift shop offered a nice variety of books, art, jewelry and other items. We found the center's staff to be welcoming, friendly and engaging
The Indian Pueblo Cultural Center in Albuquerque, New Mexico is the best place to learn the Native American culture and how life was like for the Pueblo people of New Mexico in the past. The center is full of history and interesting facts. The museum is divided into sections with exhibits representing various time periods. There is a section for the contemporary arts and crafts and a mini-theater for features short films.
There will be native dances on the courtyard. The dance is once or twice daily at 11 AM and/or 2 PM. So plan your visit if you want to watch the dances.
Pueblo Harvest Cafe inside the building served sumptuous lunch. Service was fast.
The gift shop, Shumak’olow:Wa Gifts, had authentic Indian arts and crafts created by local and regionally established artists. The selection also includes music, clothing, books, and souvenirs for every member of the family.
We really enjoyed the Pueblo Cultural Center. I wish we'd had time to eat a meal there, also. It smelled delicious. Seeing the dancers and hearing about the variety among pueblo tribes was a bonus!
Go visit this place! My boyfriend and I loved the kitchen/restaurant there. The staff was so friendly and helpful! We had a delicious meal. The fry bread with honey sampler and homemade jam was our favorite! We also really loved all the learning we got to do in the permanent and temporary exhibits. This place is a great resource for anyone looking to learn more about the pueblos of northern New Mexico. The whole space is so thoughtfully done and considerate and informational! Do not miss this place if you are in Albuquerque!
Rich and informative experience
Great insight into the culture and values. Would thoroughly recommend. Wish we had more time. Lunch at the kitchen was lovely, great food, genuine friendly service.
I was on the fence about whether or not to squeeze in a visit before my departing flight…I am so glad I decided to go for it. The Museum was a lovely, reverent space. I learned so much about the 19 Pueblo cultures; my favorite exhibit was hearing greetings in the different languages. I wish I’d had time to eat because the smells coming from the Kitchen / restaurant were mouthwatering. IMO, a must-see in ABQ!
I went here to get something specific to perform a ceremony at home. The staff was very helpful and pleasant to deal with. And knowledgeable of what I was looking for.
This was our first trip to Albuquerque.
We really enjoyed our visit to this unique center! We lucked out -- as we walked in there was a docent led tour starting.
We found this to be immensely helpful as the guide (Camille) added so much more than we would have understood from just walking through on our own.
As avid museum goers, we found this center to be among the best to get an overview of the culture and history of the Pueblos.
Also, there is a lovely cafe/restaurant with great food and a wonderful gift shop with authentic native American jewelry etc.
We visited this place during summer on a weekday, so we didn’t see any native dances. But it was still interesting and 🆒! We ate at the restaurant afterwards & that was authentic, delicious, & fair price.💕🥰✌️
