Just completed a 2 day intermediate navigation course with Beyond The Edge, and I was very impressed. Very clear information about course content and required kit before hand, and the course itself was excellent. As someone who can follow a foot path on a map, and work out a grid reference or 2, I wanted more confidence regarding how to really navigate and find my way around, and that is exactly what this course delivered. Claire, our instructor, was excellent, constantly checking with the team to ensure that we covered what we all wanted/needed, and we all got individual chances to practice our skills in a way that put us under no pressure. She was friendly, professional and a font of knowledge regarding navigating, hill craft, as well as LoTR quotes and geology! The course is very flexible, with lots of opportunities for 1-1 coaching on any areas you are not sure about, and it's all delivered in one of the most beautiful parts of the country.

We recently completed a navigation course with Hattie that exceeded our expectations! As someone with a bit of experience and my partner, who is a complete novice, we both found it incredibly beneficial. The atmosphere was friendly and welcoming, making it easy for everyone to engage and learn. I highly recommend this course to anyone interested in navigation and hiking. I’m excited to practice what I've learned and can’t wait to return for the next one!

Just completed my ML training and assessment along with the two day First Aid course with Beyond the Edge. They were excellent throughout, being very thorough, knowledgeable, and professional and taking every opportunity to be helpful and generous with their experience and guidance.

We have just completed a fabulous 2 days of learning with Chris Allewell teaching us outdoor first aid in the Hope valley. Chris really knows his stuff, and patiently kept the group interested, involved and entertained throughout. There was no chance of boredom, and plenty of opportunity to learn from our mistakes! The numerous scenarios and hands on experiences dotted throughout made it a brilliant learning experience. I can't recommend BtE highly enough. Thank you Chris.

Just completed the 16 hours outdoor first aid with Beyond the Edge. The course was brilliant - covered all aspects comprehensively, but not only that brought it to life with real practical examples. It was very clear with what was expected as a first aider, particularly out on the hills.

Just completed my Lowland Leader Assessment with Alex and he was a fantastic assessor, really put myself and the group at ease as we all felt a little anxious. Had a great 2 days with 2 great walks and to top it all off, we all passed! Would definitely recommend Beyond The Edge and will hopefully be booking a course with them again soon

I recently attended the 16-hour outdoor first aid course led by Chris. Before going into this course I had relatively little first aid experience, which I thought would hinder me compared to others. However, Chris was an amazing teacher who showed us the importance of first aid and led us through a range of scenarios where we could practice the things he taught us. Hopefully it will be rare when I have to use these skills but it has made me a lot more confident in knowing how to deal with a casualty in more remote areas. Would recommend to anyone, regardless of their prior knowledge.

The BTE Outdoor First Aid course is the best I’ve been on - and I’ve done a few. Packed with practical work and scenarios which build first aid skills and embed the training. Chris was a very knowledgeable and engaging instructor. Thank you!
