Go, Eat, Enjoy Were enroute to another restaurant higher on the Tripadvisor list when we walked by here and saw a sign that they had fresh local Porcini. We really wanted the fresh Porcini so couldn't resist eating here instead. We are so glad we stopped and do not understand why it is so low on the Tripadvisor scale. I didn't realize it was a Michelin restaurant. It felt as homey and casual as any other Trattoria. And it really wasn't much more expensive (maybe a few Euro) than the #1 restaurant according to Tripadvisor. We had to try all the special Porcini dishes for the day, so had a Starter, 2 Primi and 1 Secondo. Plus 2 glasses of wine for just 84 euro. You would expect to pay much more for Michelin. The highest cost is the wine as they do not offer a cheap house wine. The quality of every dish was above reproach and definitely worth every penny. And the service was impeccable. We were the only table for a while and there was only one other couple dining by the time we were finished so that may have avoided some of the slowness others have reported. I enjoyed meeting the Chef as we were checking out. I hope more people will go and review to move this up to the top of the list where it belongs.

Tolles Mittagessen abseits des Touristenstroms Man sitzt sehr schön in einer ruhigen Seitengasse und wird freundlich mit einem Gruß aus der Küche begrüßt. Die Auswahl der Mittagskarte ist gut, es werden einige typisch regionale Speisen angeboten. Die Qualität des Essens ist ausgezeichnet, auch der Wein war sehr gut! Wer in Pitigliano unterwegs ist, macht sich selbst eine Freude, wenn er hier essen geht.

Excellent food, kind service and an amazing location. It was our second time at Il Tufo Allegro and it confirmed the high quality of food and service. Besides the few tables outdoor, the restaurant has few inside tables hosted in small, elegant and characteristic rooms excavated in the tuff as most of the ancient houses in Pitigliano. Courtesy and friendliness characterize the service. The food is simply excellent! The high quality of ingredients, all supplied by local producers, are enhanced by the experience and creativity of the chef. Again, Maremma is the main protagonist of the wine list. We were glad to be back and we will surely come back again when next in the region.
