Recently renovated. New beds, furniture,paint and new floor New curtains Liked the included breakfast, 5 pm wine and cheese, and 8 pm cookies Big room with working refrigerator, huge tv. Sofa and chair, rattan table and 2 chairs with straight on ocean view.

This was our first time to Outerbanks and this by far has been one of my favorite places to stay by the beach. The cleaning A+, staff friendly A+, the little extras such as the Complimentary wine & cheese, popcorn, coffee/tea, breakfast and cookie hour made for exceptional stand out touches. Thank you Surf side for an amazing 37 wedding anniversary weekend.

Whoever hired all the employees we met either really lucked out or was really good at their job. Breakfast was diverse and plentiful! The evening caloric offerings (wine social at 5 and cookies at 8) were an absolute delight. The indoor pool temp was awesomely warm even in the dead cold winter. The view and price were both wonderful. The decorating was classy. Can't wait to come back when it's warmer! Second year coming: you can see the TV from the toilet. 5 stars reconfirmed.

Surf Side Hotel is wonderful! This is our favorite hotel anywhere. Our go to when we are in the OBX. Jason and Elvia were so helpful and their Christmas Decorations made you feel like you were home for the holidays! The rooms are always so clean and the views are amazing no matter which room you’re in. The breakfast was better than any Hilton breakfast they make you pay for. Looking forward to our next visit!

Wonderful staff, very clean rooms, wine social was a nice touch along with the cookies, the staff was phenomenal ( above excellent) best customer service from checkin to breakfast to housekeeping. They are five stars. Will stay here again anytime I am visiting the area. I encourage you too also, you will not be disappointed.

I planned our daughters wedding and about a month before the big day, my husband declared that I needed a break from everything and said a vacation was in order once the wedding was over. I told him I thought it was a great idea and to pick a place...so Nags Head it was! Having never been, I utilized a great FB page and asked a bunch of strangers what hotels they recommend based on prior history. There were quite a few places mentioned and after some research, I picked Surf Side Hotel and without a doubt, I can can say that we made the correct choice. Ocean front room ✔ Cookies at 8pm every night ✔ Full breakfast, everyday ✔ (biscuits and sausage gravy was delicious) Wine and cheese hour ✔ Indoor pool and hot tub ✔ Comfortable beds ✔ Kind staff ✔ Clean rooms ✔ Ample parking ✔ Great location ✔ Everyone that we encountered was so kind. There were one very minor issue that were taken care of right away. The television in our room, it was beginning to go bad. I showed a video of the issue to the front desk and by the time we got back later that day, the old one had been replaced. Unfortunately, Mother Nature made sitting outside on the beach impossible due to Hurricanes Humberto and Imelda both churning up the waters and causing the beach flags to be Double Red! Otherwise I'd have taken full advantage of the chairs they offer for the beach. For nicer evenings, the hotel has a western facing porch with seating to be able to watch the setting sun. If we ever make it back down to Nags Head, I can definitely say that I'd sat at Surf Side again and would be looking forward to seeing the upcoming renovations the hotel has planned.
