We stayed there early June 2026. The place is very pretty and quiet (which we like) A lot of trees, activities for the kids, beach near the river, few minutes to the town. Staff (i think it was karl) is very approachable and helpful. Shower and toilet is clean. Definitely a place to check out. We will definitely come back.

I am super late but I’m going again this summer and wanted to add a review and photos from our last visit a few years ago. We had the time of our lives here I have a mixed race family and was worried but at no point did any of us feel out of place!!! The owner handed out glow bracelets and encouraged the kids to run wild and free until all hours of the night as long as they stayed away from the water at night. I don’t know what to say to express how amazing our time was here!!! As long as everyone is respectful and family oriented you will fit right in and feel so so incredibly welcomed! We haven’t been back due to family loses but this yer we are in there like swimware absolutely will never camp anywhere else! Amazing weekend activities amazing staff and owners you will feel like family here and it’s so worth it!!!!

I am a bit late with this review. We were here at Medcalf Acres at end of August 2025. It was a great time! Hooter was there to greet us, giving us a bag of ice and some wood and leading us to our site. They have a game room and plenty to offer in their store. The grounds are well maintained. Cell service and WiFi were great. We stayed right by the volleyball net and if we had stayed through the weekend we would’ve had front row seats to their live music they offer each weekend! They also had a plethora of activities on the weekend! Check out a photo below of their schedule they had for Labor Day weekend! Good to know for coming years so we can enjoy that. I would recommend this campground to anyone!

Family friendly and best campground all around! Dogs are welcome, too! Weekends are filed wth so many great activities for kids of all ages! We've looked at many others, and nothing compares to this campground, on the beautiful Schroon River!

We had a great time at Medcalf Acres Campground on the Schroon River. The team there is very helpful and accommodating. We especially thank Mike for his help in guiding us to our site and expertly guided us in, as well as being available for any needed help during our stay - he even moved us over one spot from our reserved spot to a beautiful site overlooking the river. It takes a short while to get acclimated as the campground is heavily seasonal campers. Camping in September meant it was very nicely quiet during a weekday and even into the weekend.

This is a great place for camping in the Adirondacks. The sites are nice and big. Staff is great! activities for the kids and bands every weekend. Can't beat it

This place was truely awesome. Total last minute booking a few weeks ago. We rented one of the two cabins. Beds were comfortable for camp beds, had a full size fridge, microwave and coffee pot. Propane grill outside, picnic table and fire pit. There were so many activities to do! Bouncy house, VR, swimming in pool and river, mini golf and more! Mike( i think that was his name) was super helpful and responsive. We loved it so much We instantly booked again for next year.

I have been going to this campground for 2 years now. We actually have made it the "Annual Camping Trip" with the whole family! The water is beautiful (great tubing with ending at your site), wonderful camp store, you get a FREE bag of ice and firewood upon arriving (the wood bags are large and burn long, always a plus), and there are activities for kids and a band for family every Saturday. Mike, in the front office, is WONDERFUL. He assisted us in tube rentals and a life jacket rental. This was our first year with a camper and Mike helped us back it into the camp site and ensured we had all the hook-ups cables we needed for a great stay. There was also band playing till 9pm, although Mike allowed the band to stay till 11pm, due to how much of an amazing time the crowd was having. SHOUT OUT TO MIKE, b/c as always, you made our stay wonderful. Another trip down for the books! See you all next year!!

The Staff member Mike was Great. Always near by when needed. Definitely a hard worker. And this place was awesome, many campsites, nice people, nice rural area, right on the river, you can't get any closer to Mother Nature then this. Also as an extra added bonus, the pool was the perfect temp for a nice swim….
