We really can’t recommend Isabel with spectrum canine enough! She worked wonders with our puppy Jessie during a 4 week board and train. She is a sweet dutchie puppy who needed direction from a confident trainer like Isabel. Now that’s she’s home we have all the tools/knowledge to continue the training on our own and can fully enjoy having Jessie integrated back into our family.

We did the 4-week immersion training for my 8-month old pitt-husky mix, and trainer Johnny did an amazing job transforming our wild, unpredictable pup to a focused and obedient dog. Prior to the training, our puppy absolutely hated his crate, and when he returned, he was sleeping in his crate overnight with no issues. As Spectrum Canine states, the training does not end with the immersion program; our dog is definitely still a work in progress but he surely a more manageable puppy now. Thanks Johnny and Spectrum!

When I entrusted my puppy, Leo, to Isabel at Spectrum Canine for training, I had high hopes but was naturally a bit anxious. Now, I can confidently say that choosing Isabel and Spectrum Canine was one of the best decisions I've ever made for my fur baby. Isabel is a true gem in the dog training world. Her expertise and passion for what she does shine through in the remarkable transformation she has brought about in Leo. He used to be an overly enthusiastic pup, always pulling on the leash and barely able to contain his excitement. Now, he walks with a calm, focused demeanor, heeling perfectly and giving me his full attention. It's like night and day! What stood out most, apart from the excellent training, was Isabel's approachable and responsive nature. Whenever I had questions or concerns, she was there with helpful insights and reassurance. It's clear that she doesn't just train dogs – she builds relationships with them and their owners, fostering a supportive community. The results speak for themselves. Our walks now are a joy, with people frequently stopping us to express their admiration for Leo's behavior. He's become a model of canine discipline, maintaining his composure even when other dogs around him lose theirs. In short, if you're considering a boarding school for your dog's training, look no further than Spectrum Canine, and especially Isabel. Her skill, dedication, and remarkable results have earned my wholehearted recommendation. She doesn't just train dogs; she transforms them, and their owners' lives for the better.

Was recommended to Spectrum/Ricky where our dog Zorah a Doberman entered into board and train for bite work. When she returned to us, we had a well rounded obedient Zorah. She was able to walk off the leash with an amazing heel, recall, etc. Knowing we had to obviously keep up with what was taught with obedience, we were excited with what we saw thus far and were excited to see what we would be trained on with bite work. We received a few decoy session (boogie man technique) but no bite work. Just Zorah doing a lot of barking. I am not going to knock Ricky’s training. I do, however, feel that his business is geared and focus is for the Belgian doggies, Police Dog Training. If you’re wanting your family dog to go through any protection training, I am sad to say that he is not the way to go. Ricky’s communication is very poor almost non responsive. And, when it was requested to receive videos of bite work/protection training, we got nothing. Prior to us moving, Ricky informed us that he knew of trainers that he would refer us to in our new state, no communication on that either. So, we were set out to find our own. Now far as obedience training, his colleague, Julio … 5 plus plus plus stars. Not only did Zorah get picked up from our home everyday, for day camp, Julio ensured that he spent some time with her obedience training. He would also watch Zorah when we went on vacations and as we transitioned with our move! I am not sure if this was part of the services BUT we would send group texts to Ricky and Julio with our requests, majority of the time, Julio would respond and we would just Venmo Ricky with additional $ so bite work/protection could be done with her. From September until we moved, end of June, we paid a total of $8,050. $5,700 of that was for the training that we did not FULLY receive. Our new trainer here, whom we found and began training mid July, in our new state, said that as far as obedience, Zorah is to the tee and would actually like us to put her in competition BUT her bite work, she has to start over because she is afraid. Her bark isn’t because she is excited to work, it’s more of a fearful Deterrence bark which steams from the “boggy man” training. Zorah barks but when there’s advancement from the decoy for her to bite a sleeve, pillow, toy rat tail, or whatever tool he has, she fearfully barks and backs away or tries to hide. He also feels that it will take a long time to get her to bite but instead, for now, he will just work on her being scared of the advancement, then try to proceed from there. Oh, and we only pay $180/month two days a week for his bite club AND he has boarding and daycare, etc. in house. He often pulls her out and tries to work with her, but, no dice. Same behavior. So, with this long post, protection training we thought we were getting and paid for with Ricky, is not what we got! Julio is AWESOME and communication is on point. Ricky is awesome as well, however, again, not with your family dog. We definitely got robbed and taken advantage of our $5,700!

I think this place may be a scam (or at least they don't know what they're doing) and this was one of the worst experiences in customer service I have ever had in my life. My young dog has some reactivity and aggression and they suggested I send him away for the 8 week program at their site. Every week I asked for what he was working on, pictures, or videos, or any update at all. They constantly ignored me and provided no information whatsoever. They took my dog and gave no update for weeks on end. Finally they gave in and sent me 1 short video of him playing with another dog. I communicated I wanted to know how he was and what they were working on with him, and they completely ghosted me for weeks. After 8 weeks it was time for drop off back at my house and they forgot and got their schedules mixed up, so they held him for an additional week. For a total of 9 weeks. He came back exactly the same. All of the basic commands I had already taught him were intact, but he had the exact same reactivity and aggression, and all the things I asked them to work on with him. After 9 weeks, they hardly trained him, and in 9 weeks they sent me ONE short video and update on him. I would never recommend this place to anyone, unless they just want a really expensive daycare.

Steve was amazing with Onyx. Onyx is a Dutch Shepherd and we had a difficult time trying to find a well balanced trainer to help with Onyx’s human aggression. Onyx is about 90lbs and has history in French ring and Obedience. His obedience is great but when it came to new people, he didn’t have the direction on how to act around people (mainly due to our lack of socialization when he was young). Onyx was such an anxious dog when it came to new people. We couldn’t bring him around anyone in fear of him going after someone who bats an eye to him. Steve took Onyx for board and train program for about a little over 8 weeks and when he came back to us, he was such a different dog. We are now able to walk Onyx around and know what to watch for to help his behavior. Steve spent a lot time with me teaching us what to look for and what to do. Steve trained both Me and Onyx so well. I would definitely go back to him and refer him foe training/behavior modification. He was very receptive when it came to updates and txts even when we were overseas just to check in, he was readily available.
