What a surprise, on the outside its basic accomodation but the owners have gone overboard with extras. outside fire with wood, lots of kitchen appliances, undercover parking, fast free wifi, and NETFLIX free account!!! HOW GOOD! out of town and quiet, great for star gazing. Def will return

Stayed 2 nights. Everything is clean and the cottage is well equipped. Amazing night stars, quiet location but still close to town. Recommend.

We stayed for one night and wish we could've stayed longer. The cottage had all the conveniences of home. The included continental breakfast was lovely, and as someone who doesn't drink coffee it was great to see the thoughtful addition of hot chocolate which you don't often get. It was such a quiet spot with a fantastic view and is in the perfect location for visiting Wilpena Pound.

My family enjoyed a delightful 4-night stay at Windana Cottages in late September 2024. It is possibly the best place to be based while exploring the Flinders Ranges, being just 2 km from the town of Hawker which has the basic amenities you would need for a trip, and a 40-minute drive to Wilpena Pond where most of the walks and scenic drives start from. At the same time, the cottages had that sense of remoteness of living in the outback that we were wanting to experience – we were surrounded by sheep and the undulating ranges, and we were treated to open skies that showcased dazzling stars at night and glowing sunrises in the morning. The cottages themselves are very comfortable and equipped with all the things we needed for our holiday accommodation – solid beds, hot showers and plenty of cooking equipment. We also appreciated the generous breakfast supplies provided in the cottages, from bread, muffins and cereals to various spreads, juices and beverages. The hosts were friendly and unobtrusive, and it was nice to know that they were in the farmhouse a little way off or a phone call away had we needed any help. For anyone planning a trip to the Flinders Ranges, we would definitely recommend staying at Windana Cottages. You could not ask for a better location and at far better value for money than most other accommodation in the area.

I stayed here with mum and the kids for 2 nights, the 2 rooms were clean had electric blankets on the beds bedroom 1 had a queen bed and bedroom 2 had bunks with a double on the bottom and single on top. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook our own food kettle, toaster fridge etc. Decent shower/ bathroom. It's located 2 minutes from the town was very peaceful.

We a family of 4 stayed here for two nights. We were too late to check in when it was already dark. The owner was so helpful to show us the way. This is a wonderful calm and quiet place. Close proximity to attractions. We did stargazing at night and kids loved it.
