Micolosi Brothers did a fantastic job refinishing the wood parquet floor in our new baby's nursery. There were some damaged and missing pieces of the complicated mahogany pattern. We had our floors refinished by Micolosi Bros last week. Our floors needed alot of work. Mickey promised us that we will love the finished product. I used Micolosi brothers 21 years ago and my floors still looked good. I called them back because my wife wanted the carpet in my living room, staircase and landings removed. Once removed we discovered the beautiful hardwood floors underneath. Only problem was 3 - 6” x approximately 40” removed and replaced with plywood. Mickey who i vaguely remembered from years ago came to estimate, knew exactly what type of wood the flooring was (redwood) said he would get it and replace what was missing. They came last Wednesday and Thursday did my dining room, living room, staircase and landings. Mickey made replaced the missing planks and it came out perfect, can’t even tell anything was done. Mickey and his coworker came back yesterday and today and redid my downstairs bathroom and den floors. All of the floors look amazing!! I would highly recommend Micolosi brothers and Mickey to everyone looking for a top quality, professional job. So happy I brought them back 21 years later.

No Nonsense- Nice Job Apartment is in a 90 year old rental building in urban Queens. When we removed wall to wall carpeting from the back bedrooms, it was clear the floors needed to be refinished. Landlord was not receptive, and we are no longer willing to waste time and effort fighting with them. And if we won the fight, we would probably have to put up with another of their sketchy contractors and a prolonged messy and smelly job. (We had other floors refinished over the years and it was no fun.) We called Micolosi Bros. from Queens Village based upon excellent Google reviews. A woman (Nalini) who seemed refreshingly normal said their guy would be on a nearby job the next day and could stop by and give me an estimate. At the appointed hour her guy, Mickey, came by. We told him we were not looking for miracles- we just wanted to get the floors done quickly and without hassle. Mickey gave me a reasonable estimate for refinishing with a water based stain and a sealer. We shook hands and set a date for the following week. Mickey and his helper came early that day and waited in their van until a spot opened up in front of the building. At 8:00 they brought up their equipment, which looked to be far superior to that which I have seen used in the building in the past, and got to work. By 4:00 pm, the job was completed with minimal odor and no mess. The only breaks they took were to let the coats dry. The floors look great. Mickey is very much a "can do" and trustworthy guy. The entire process from the first call through completion exceeded my expectations.

We recently had contacted Micolosi Brothers for an estimate to repair water damaged floors and in need of replacing a small portion as well then stripping our entire first floor and and then staining the entire first floor in Garden City. Mickey came shortly after calling and he was great. Gave us all the info and spent as much time as we needed answering our questions and gave us a great price. They came right when scheduled and Mickey and two other gentlemen worked very hard for two days repairing and stripping and stainng our entire first floor to a much darker stain we picked. After a previous contactor completely botched the refinishing of my hardwood floors, Micolosi Brothers did the job from scratch and delivered the results that I should have gotten the first time. I only wish that I had contacted them in the first place. It would have saved me a lot of money and time, not to mention anxiety.

There's nothing fun about getting floors refinished but Micolosi made the whole process painless and answered my various questions with honesty. I had asked about doing the floor in two parts so I wouldn't have to move furniture downstairs. Micolosi said yes, but were upfront that it would cost more and might also mean the floors' stain could dry unevenly. The team arrived on time and completed the job early, leaving my floor pristine and lovely. All stains and imperfections gone! The price was also fair and exactly as quoted with no surprise fees.

Right from the moment he inspected this job, Mickey explain every aspect of what he would be doing. Mickey had to make some repairs where we removed a wall and there was only sub-floor, it came out seamless. Mickey, communicated with us throughout the whole process to make sure we approved of the work as it went along. He arrived on time on both days and worked diligently throughout the day. We would recommend Micolosi Brothers, especially if you have an old floor that needs great care, that you want to make look like new again or for any type of repair. After shopping around with several flooring companies to sand my hardwood floors and put 3 coats of water-based satin finish, I chose Micolosi and I'm glad I did. After speaking with Nalini several times over the phone, she was able to give me a price right over the phone after telling her the square footage and what I wanted to do. They were very reasonably priced and Nalini was able to get me on the schedule pretty quickly. She even texted me over the holiday weekend to confirm my appointment. After pulling up my living room and dining room carpet, I found wood floors that hadn't seen daylight in over 30 years. There were definitely wet stains and other problem areas that had me unsure of being able to just refinish and stain them as opposed to replacing them. They were the Best! We had recently removed a wall and made it open floor plan. The contractors put a piece of wood perpendicular to the rest of the hardwood floors and that too, they stained it a different color, when in fact they were supposed to match it to the existing floor. When I pointed it out to the contractor he got mad and didn't want to the extra work to fix it, and since we were moving in soon we had no other choice other than to let them finish their job and let them go. We searched the web to find someone who could rectify their mistake and make it one seamless smooth hardwood floor. Then we found Micolosi Brothers. They were truly amazing and professional. Nalini whom I contacted was such a nice person and gave me all the info needed and pushed and adjusted her dates to accommodate us. Micky came in with his partner and did an amazing job in just one day and the difference was night and day. Truly professional and a good deal. I would recommend them to everyone. The first day Mickey came for the estimate, I knew he was the company I was using. He went over step by step the procedure each day. He stated if I’m not happy he’s not happy.. Micolosi brothers just completed a job for my mom last week. From the woman that scheduled the estimate and booked the 2 day job (living room, dining room, bedroom, hallway and staircase)to Mickey and his brother... it was an amazing experience. And the only reason it was a 2 day job was because we had to move furniture around to clear the floor. Never having any work done to our floors and not knowing what to expect we were so delighted. Mickey is amazing. I had oak original natural floors that were over 23 years old and beaten up. He sanded, stained and polyurethaned them. I was stuck trying to find a company at the last minute that would charge me a decent price for a 9x14 room in my parents’ home office. They were the only ones that stepped up and lowered their minimum and came on a Saturday. Not only was the process dustless and clean, the work was outstanding. We have other areas that need to get refinished and they earned all our business. Mickey also talked the sanitation inspector out of giving is a $350 ticket when our last contractor disposed of our items improperly. He also helped me bundled everything together. Thank you Mickey!! Mickey came about a month ago and sanded and refinished our wood floors , they hadn't been done in years....He did a great job, fast, efficient and job well done. Unfortunately, we had some painting done and we had put some protective cardboard on the floor with painters tape...when we pulled off the tape we pulled off some of the finish...We called Nalini and she sent Mickey back to do some touch up...no questions asked , no charge....We would highly recommend Micolosi Brothers for sanding and finishing hardwood floors, both Mickey and Nalini are so easy to work with...good old fashioned customer service.

I hired Micolosi Brothers Hardwood Flooring to complete a major restoration of my 1920s red oak parquet living and diningroom floors with mahogany inlays. Major areas had to be replaced, like the entryway and sections where we removed several walls during a current reno. The construction firm that I'm currently working with tried to convince us to replace the flooring, even at one point telling us that our current floor could not be brought back to life. BUT, thankfully I found Mickey. He was earnest, reassuring and treated my floors the way he would treat his (as he told me and proved that to be the case). This company truly reminded me that there are no jacks of all trades; you hire the best to do the one or two things that they are good at, and they know floor restoration! Not only did Mickey and his team fully restore my floors to an impeccable finish (blending seemlessly old wood with new wood), but their attention to customer service and the quality of their workmanship was first rate. From the time of booking (Nanali is very responsive and accessible) they were very helpful in helping me decide a stain color and finish, even Mickey calling me back to discuss stains based on his expertise. They were very professional, responsive and respectful of my home. They arrived when they said they would, working efficiently and texting when they left the job for the day. They also went the extra mile: Mickey solved a major problem for us in the form of a thick electrical wire coming up out of the floors where a wall use to be. He relocated it without compromising the subfloor (which was his main concern) and the line of mahoagany inlay (which was my concern). They finished in the time frame they projected, making every day count. As a matter of fact, the first look of my sanded floors brought me literally to tears. Yes, the floors were beautiful, but to have someone deliver as promised was priceless (have been going through 13 months of renos hell with a horrible contractor). With out a doubt, I would recommend this company to anyone and will hire them to lay down floors (if I can pull that job from my contractor) on a small addition we are doing. A++ company.
