This place is incredible! Lovely for hosting an event or just a nice dinner out.

The lighting is quite dim for my liking but very clean and simple . The staff was amazingly quick to seat us and help with any questions we had , very friendly and on point with drinks and condiments. The food was amazing with generous portions, and out of this word flavors . In my opinion this is a place worth going to and if you pass it you are missing out BIG TIME .

My husband and I celebrated our post Covid wedding at North Tavern. Brian was a delight and offered amazing service. The food was to die for, the dining hall was absolutely gorgeous and the service— top notch and professional. My guests still rave about how beautiful everything turned out and it was one of their favorite weddings they’ve been to.

From service to presentation to flavor, North Tavern is absolutely wonderful. The Italian Toast appetizer is a great way to start the meal for a salad/bread plate beginning. The Fish Tasting had beautiful presentation and the flavor was phenomenal! Rounding the dinner off with a warm brownie recommended by our server was the way to go! Thank you to the owners, server, and especially to the chefs; my family and I talked about the meal on the way home… until it was too much and then had the change the subject. 😊

I attended a wonderful wedding at North Tavern this past weekend. The staff was so efficient and friendly, my salmon/crab cake/lobster entree was delicious and beautifully presented. I will definitely return for dinner but I highly recommend for a private event.

I had a surprise party for my husband last night at the north tavern that was spectacular! Brian, Beth and the rest of the staff were so accommodating. I recommend this restaurant for the excellent food, ambiance and great service!

Fantastic all around! When I made reservations I was asked if we were celebrating anything, in fact we were. My son and daughter in law moved to the area a little over a year ago we were celebrating their birthdays. A birthday balloon was placed on the table and candles on their dessert! Very thoughtful. Food was delicious and beautiful to look at. We will be back. Thank you for a lovely evening l!

We had dinner at the North Tavern a couple times recently as we were looking for a venue for a rehearsal dinner. Both times we ate there the food was first class and the service was outstanding. So we decided to use the North Tavern for the rehearsal dinner. We could not have made a better decision. Brian and his team were so attentive, and the food was awesome! Everyone loved the food, service, and facility. We had a great night! I highly recommend the North Tavern for both dinners and private events.

This is not one of your typical taverns. The things that it has to offer our magnificent food and wonderful service. The owner are happy to go out of their way in order to please you and those make you feel extremely comfortable. I can guarantee that if you visit this Restaurant for the first time, you will be greatly impressed to return again and again.

Last night (9 Jun '23), our 2d time here for dinner, this time with out-of-state friends. Had a most delicious salmon w/ lobster Special & asparagus . Savory, moist, perfectly cooked. Other fantastic dish was the seafood rissoto (fish, shrimp, +?) which our friend said was the BEST she had ever had. We're not artists nor fussy, but all 4 meals were Beautifully presented. Our host Beth treated us like royalty, making sure any & all desires and requests were met. A wonderful & most peaceful easy evening, with the MOST delicious food. Hats off to the chef(s) & staff. The service here is bar none!! The food was amazing too!! The man who greeted us at the door, gave us a champagne drink, served us hors d'oeuvres, and checked on us several times throughout our meal, wasn't even our server! Jordan was!! She was friendly, attentive, gave us recommendations, and was just a pleasure in general! will definitely request her the next time we go!!

Super busy on Saturday at 7:30pm. Made reservations but table wasn't ready for about 15 minutes. That's okay, it happens. But bar area was super tight & we were in the path of the waitstaff. There was a private party going on, so that could've been a factor. It was loud - hard to hear conversations at times. Food was good, not exceptional. Choices felt a little limited.

Held my daughters bridal shower there this weekend. Service, food, venue was phenomenal! Brian has a great team. Menu was definitely created with every tastebud in mind. They were a pleasure to work with and really made the day special.

I absolutely adore this restaurant. The food is fresh, well cooked, and delicious. The staff and management is always friendly, welcoming, and polite. My only complaint is that they aren't open more hours during the week! The open face steak sandwich with arugula, crispy onions, and garlic aioli is the best thing I've ever eaten.

While on my way out to the east end of Long Island, I came across a hidden gem. The Tavern, an experience in dinning. If you didn’t know this restaurant was there you would pass it by. I’m glad I took the time to try it. The ambiance of a medieval times, set the mood. It was like walking into a castle. The food presentation was impressive and the taste did not disappoint. I’ve gone back for lunch on the patio as well. The lobster roll was delicious and perfectly paired with the wine. It is a hidden secret to most and well worth the try for all. We had a great experience. Food was great, our server, Amy, was great. We are already planning to go back with our family for Christmas Eve. My Pumpkin Martini was delicious, and the Nutty Irishman was a nice treat. It was a very nice evening and I thank you.

I love the trend tastes towards small menus at upscale restaurants. It really lets me know they put everything into the dishes they serve. Also, it makes it easier for those of us who have a hard time choosing! We had the starter special, which, unfortunately was limited time because it was incredible. It was Chilean sea bass topped with crab cake, grilled shrimp, and arugula. For mains we went with Long Island classics, chicken Parm and spare rib bolognese, both served on the pasta of the day. They were awesome! Also they have local small batch cola instead of the regular old store bought and i really enjoyed it!

Was greeted upon arrival with enthusiastic and positive atmosphere from the hostess. We were allowed to choose where we sat and it was a comfortable dining room set up. The waiter greeted us immediately upon sitting. The food was delicious and I had a variety of options. To add some critiques, investing in cloth table covers would be a bonus. Cloth napkins…. also a plus paper napkins give off a pizzeria/diner feeling. Also offering guests either sparkling or tap is a huge plus considering where the restaurant is located $$$. Expanding some of the menu options will also be beneficial for the restaurants revenue. Overall had a great night and I have no complaints about my service and or my meal!

I took my girlfriend here for her birthday, it was our first time there, and I have to say it was hands down best dinner and service we have ever had. Erin or waitress was so attentive and even came out with a candle and Ice cream. The most amazing part was we ordered, I got the steak and ribs special and my girlfriend ordered chicken parmesan and in less then ten mins it was in front of us and the platting and quality was out of this world. We will definitely be back can't wait.!

My wife and I came here once in the winter of 2021, the food was good and it’s like diner food but more fancy and more expensive.

I’m from Buffalo, NY. We went for my sister‘s birthday celebration and the staff went above and beyond when they realized it was her birthday. Balloons. Candles in the desert. Champagne toast. Food was so tasty, menu is like nothing I’ve seen. Will be back in July.

When my wife and I want to go out for dinner we don’t go through the ritual of where to go anymore. It’s understood that we are going to the North Tavern in Wading River! Now I have written reviews before about the North Tavern and the owners Brian and Drew along with their wives but I can’t resist letting everyone know about what a dining experience should be like. Everything is wonderful from the time you walk in until the time you leave. You are almost always greeted by a family member who begins your experience. The food is outstanding. Drew is always changing up the menu with different culinary delights. Of course we have our favorites but can’t resist trying new menu items or some of the daily specials! The food never fails to impress us! I want to tell you about a few of them but I don’t know which ones to recommend because they are all so good! There are some old fashion comfort dishes and always great new delights. I always tell myself to keep the review short so everyone reads it all, but it’s so hard. I can’t not mention the service though. Brian and his staff treats you like family. The service is just outstanding. They are very attentive and can’t do enough to make your dining a pleasure. This is displayed by just watching Brain in the dining area. It seems like all of his patrons are personal friends and he makes you feel that way. I can end without mentioning his cocktails. He always is coming up with new and wonderful drinks that shouldn’t be missed. He also does parties and special events which are not the same old thing but and event like it was dinner for two. So if you want an enjoyable evening out to dinner go to the North Tavern and say hello to Brian and Denise, Drew and Carol. Rob G

Had a great night a North Tavern, from the moment we walked in we were greated. Sat at a high top by the bar, comfortable, cozy area. Our server Alan was an exceptional young man, warm hearted person who made our 1st time here awesone. The food was great as well, from the beet salad with potato pancakes to the steak and meatloaf stack. Everything was delicious. We will definetly be back. Try this place you won't be disappointed.

Brian and staff were amazing. I needed a place for lunch after a funeral. It was short notice and Brian not only agreed immediately but told me don’t worry I will take care of you. This was the first time there and the food was incredible as well as the entire experience! It was a sad occasion but the bright welcoming atmosphere and staff were awesome!

We have eaten there twice now and couldn't recommend this restaurant more highly. Excellent food, wonderful staff and a really charming atmosphere. Cannot wait to go back!!!

Favorite restaurant on Long Island!

Because this was a group event, we had a limited menu. The food was pretty good, the service was excellent. We had a private room & there was music in the main room.

Went for the first time the other night and will go back often! The food was amazing; delicious and beautifully presented. The waiter, Allan was friendly, knowledgeable and very attentive to us. Sorry, no photos, we started eating as soon as the food arrived!

Wow, just left the North Tavern and had to share our experience. From the service to the food, everything was phenomenal. The owner greeted us, spoke to us for a few minutes and even provided a sign that said Happy Anniversary. The tuna/steak entree was fabulous. Great food, great atmosphere!

We had an amazing time. Miraculously got a table on a Friday night. Our two year old just had her birthday that week and the staff doted on her - birthday ice cream, bonus snacks for her to munch on, a birthday balloon. This is the ultimate family restaurant with a setting and food that is anything that’s typical low quality family restaurant fare. Thank you so much!!! We had our Wedding Anniversary dinner at the North Tarven and it was a truly magical experience! Denise, Brian, Chef Drew and staff went over and above! Our table had flowers, a Happy Anniversary sign and a balloon! We were greeted at the table with Champagne! The service was excellent as was the food. Great place for dinner.

The atmosphere here is great. Quiet, small, house like setting. All the staff was attentive and actually cared about how we were doing and the quality of the food. It was nice to hear even the young gentlemen who brought us out drinks and water asked us how everything was. One of the few times we're had nachos anywhere that had the fixings throughout the plate. (Buffalo chicken nachos) I had the summer seafood bake and.my wife had another seafood dish. Pics do not do justice. We will come back again...

I had a lovely first time here. They were incredibly attentive, food tasted great, and for the price it's not bad at all! Definitely would like to come back and try some other stuff.

The food was good, I thought the smiley face on my burger was a nice touch. But when it came to order dessert, me and my family were very disappointed with the platter. It just consisted of scraps of a few different desserts. There were 4 brownies about the size of a quater and a couple other pieces of small desserts. The overall experience was good, but for $25 I think the dessert platter could have been better.

Went yesterday for early Mother's Day dinner. We were 6 adults and 4 perfect children. The staff was pleasant and made us feel welcome and were attentive the entire time. The food, OMG, the food was delicious and PLENTIFUL from the appetizer to the dessert. You must try this restaurant. You won't be dis.

I had delicious burger sliders and home made seasoned fries last night! The beef was delicious and cooked perfectly. Served over. toasted white breads that was perfect. Inside there was a creamy blue cheese and lettuce dressing that wasn't overpowering. A delightful meal with a touch of catsup that I added. It was perfect! The service was impeccable and Brian was a gentle host. It's always a pleasure to dine there!

North Tavern nails it again with a Valentine's dinner special! At first blush $99 may seem like a lot. But not when you consider this was a 5 course extravaganza. We got ours to take home. There was the Angel hair pasta, salad, tomato & fresh mozzarella with shrimp, then filet Mignon and lobster, ending with strawberry ice cream inside strawberry cake with two gigantic chocolate covered strawberries. We added a bottle of Simi sparkling brut and let the festivities begin!!! Don & Lorraine

We came to North Tavern last year for a friends birthday there were about 12 of us. It was my first time. We loved it, the food was delicious. I tasted what my friends had and every other plate of food was delicious. We made a reservation in November for my birthday. It was so nice because when we came in our table had a really nice wooded Happy Birthday sign on the table with balloons tied to my chair. Brian is the owner and I went up to tell him how much that meant to me. This is how you treat your customers. This is now one of my favorite places.

Hands down our family’s favorite restaurant! The food is always great, the service is fantastic and super accommodating. A special shoutout to Beth and Brian who always make our visits special.

Then our wonderful waiter Alan brought us two complimentary champagne glasses with strawberries. Brian came over numerous times to check on us as well as our waiter Alan. The ambiance of the room was decorated w/ holiday cheer and music.The Turkey Meatballs and Angel Hair Pasta w/shrimp was a five star meal. Delicious! When I asked for the check Alan put down addition place settings and the staff brought an unexpected birthday dessert of an exquisite ice cream with chocolate covered strawberries. Did we say thank you? The North Tavern is now our favorite restaurant. Please stop down for drinks and dinner with friends and say hello to owner Brian. Such a surprise! We live about an hour away from the area and are determined to find good Long Island restaurants. So worth it and will be back. Food was insanely delicious with awesome presentation. Specifically, ravioli ... way better than most of the island. They also were out of this world friendly with my one year old daughter. Felt like home, with crazy good food ... 100% will go again.

North Tavern hosted my wife’s 50th surprise birthday party and they went above and beyond to make it special.. from the food, drinks and atmosphere everything was perfect !! We had our grandmothers 100th Birthday party yesterday at North Tavern and it was perfect!!! The food was delicious and the service was fabulous. Brian, Carol and Beth made sure that every single detail was taken care of. I walked in with decorations and all three of them helped me hang up photos and banners and lots of other stuff. We just had the most amazing dinner at North Tavern. The restaurant is warm and inviting. Service is friendly and attentive. The highlight is the food. Spinach salad is delicious, the special of Salmon Goat Cheese Ravioli with seared scallops was the best I have ever had. The steak with tempura shrimp was cooked perfectly and was more than enough. This is on our list of places to go out for dinner.

Went to a festival on their street and they were offering chili bowl or pasta bowl with a beer or a soda for cheap (they technically weren't open during the time the festival was going on so they couldn't offer their full menu) we were pleasantly surprised at how great those two menu items were and are excited to go back and try more. We did look at their full menu and a lot looks appetizing.

Tonight we had the most delicious dinner outing we’ve had in a very long time, if not ever. Our chips, appetizer, main courses, and desserts were exquisite. So much flavor! Portions were appropriate, not too big or small. Coconut shrimp app was on point. One recommend was on the dinner I had, the Brother Joe's Crisp Salmon Filet. While very tasty and a good size filet, it only came on a bed a spinach. I would have liked to have had maybe an orzo or other grain to add to the dinner. The Filet Mignon Stack and lamb chop special were a bit more substantial in what was given on the plate. Apple pie and chocolate covered strawberries were mouth watering. Highly recommend making a reservation, but it was worth the wait regardless. Beautiful decor and location while also still being semi-casual. A bit loud in the bar and dining room, but I’ll take that as everyone having a good time. We will be back again soon!

The food and service are incredible. The staff makes sure that you are comfortable and made to feel valued. I highly recommend the Meatloaf! Five star restaurant ... one not to be missed!

Went last night for our 14th wedding anniversary. Second time coming. Staff is so polite. Atmosphere is relaxing and loved the country music playing. The Buffalo Chicken Nachos are outstanding! Pops meatloaf is amazing and the turkey meatballs and deliciously different. It's like home cooking without dealing with the mess and cleanup! Will definitely come again!

I was visiting Long Island for a New York State Restaurant Association Board of Directors meeting and found the North Tavern online. This place defines what above and beyond service means. Yes the food is excellent but what really makes a restaurant stand out is the type of service they offer. Kudos to this hidden gem in Wading River Long Island. Thank you for making an out of towner feel so very welcome.

We went to North Tavern Saturday night while visiting family. We just stumbled upon it and will never regret it! We were welcomed in like we were part of the family. The food was elegantly displayed and so delicious. I can’t wait to get back there!

Had a really great experience last night. Owner is super welcoming and staff is extremely friendly. Food was superb. Everything homemade. I mean everything. Will go back soon!! Only one slight critique...dining room could use a little softening and warmth. Maybe some tablecloths, more accents and furnishings, etc. Space is a bit stark. But overall a must!

I heard this place had issues in the past but as a first time patron I would recommend it to anyone. Great food, great service, and great atmosphere. We didn't LOVE the cappuccino and they immediately removed from check. You can tell the owners care about each and every person that walks in.

My wife and I had our rehearsal dinner at North Tavern. We were so happy with the food and service we received! The food was amazing! Brian and his staff were perfect! They made our night so special with all the details and attention. I would definitely go back and highly recommend North Tavern for rehearsal dinners or just a night out for dinner and drinks!

I've been to North Tavern twice now, months apart. I was very busy both times. Service was excellent, food was beautifully prepared and delicious. All of that and the bill was moderate. I would recommend this place to anybody.

My family and I have been here several times since the opening under the new ownership. Atmosphere is elegant, service amazing, food OUTSTANDING! Bartender is one of the best I've tasted for upscale cocktails. Food presentation was beautiful. Well worth the price. The owners are hands on and greet everyone in their venue.

Just had dinner here tonight. The staff is so friendly. Our waitress Erin was a sweetheart. I had the crab cake appetizer and the steak sandwich with arugula and it was delicious.

Went there with the family and friends. Absolutely incredible! From the service to the food. You have to try the filet stack.

Eaten there a number of times now. Food is always top notch, and done with a flair. I had the seafood special last time and loved it. The chef knows his business. Each time the Service was professional, but friendly and attentive. These people know how to run a good restaurant, and it shows. Its a casual but classy place. Good crowd each time we went, word must be getting around. Best of luck.

Brian and his staff go above and beyond. The food is AMAZING and is different than your normal run of the mill tavern. The atmosphere and establishment is stunning. A must try. Great for a drink at the bar or dinner with friends.

We dropped by for first time in December on a Saturday night with friends from out of town. Got there early when it was still pretty empty. Amazing all around experience. Food was delicious, and customer service better, if that's even possible. North Tavern takes comfort food, jazzes it up to something almost unrecognizable, and creates spectacular results. Waitresses were very attentive, while the owners (I'm guessing) visited our table multiple times to make sure we had everything we needed. By the time we left over 2+ hours later the place was packed. Now I know why.

Very nice dinner, staff is friendly and welcoming, the chef knows how to use his sauses, fancy food but the place is not stuffy and the portions are perfect. Atmosphere is cozy and elegant at the same time.

Busy evening spot, good place for couples and groups- young clientele enjoys drinks and American cuisine with a noninvasive sports screen visible at the bar. Music gives it a hip atmosphere. Modern design inside. Great chicken tenders and honey mustard sauce, well made burgers. Conveniently located across the street from the Duck Pond- can have a nice walk along the pond and come in for food and drink. I placed orders for pick up-helpful for dinnertime!

My sister and brother in law live in Wading River. We decided to give the North Tavern a try. Glad we did. Everyone enjoyed their meal. I had the pastrami sandwich, which was fantastic, as were the wings that we ordered as an appetizer. I liked the menu. Enough options to be interesting and meet your mood, but not so many options as to be overwhelming. The server was a pleasure. Atmosphere was perfect for a relaxing Saturday evening meal. It's a tad noisy, which is my only minor complaint. They could use something to soak up some sound as the floors are wood. Overall, this was a great experience. My sister and her husband were likewise impressed with the Tavern and we expect to visit again.

Delicious food! My wife and I went there for the first time, for our anniversary. We had a wonderful dinning experience. Highly recommend to anyone who enjoys real dinning out. You gotta go, you won't be disappointed. We'll be back!

We just had dinner there. Food was really good. Their mile high pastrami sandwich was about the best i have ever had. My wife had a turkey meatball dish with rigatoni. When my wife mentioned that it was my birthday, they were nice enough to bring out chocolate covered strawberries and a candle. Thank you to owner Brian and waitress Elizabeth!

They'll charge you restaurant prices for above average bar food. The draft beer is over priced at $9, and their $30 steak is average. Nothing is bad, but not worth the price. The dining hall is too loud. The service is excellent.

Staff was very attentive and truly friendly. Relaxed atmosphere. The food very good for a decent price. Going again tomorrow. Hoping for the same.

There have been several places to eat at this location for a few years now, and none seem to stay very long. North Tavern hopefully will end that streak. I took my son and his girlfriend there tonight, and we found a gem. The place is beautiful inside. Big, but comfortable dining room with a center of the room fireplace. We had the crab cakes, which melted in our mouths. The massvive and yummy Buffalo Chicken Nachos. I had the “special”, an Italian Halibut with Calamari. Very delicious. My son loved his Chopped Salad w/chicken, and his girlfriends Wading River burger was gone and enjoyed so much, we contemplated getting one for the road. The wait staff were constantly filling our waters, taking finished tableware and asking if we needed anything/is everything ok. There was a decent crowd dining, all ages, yet we were made to feel like the only people in the room. This was/is worth a few more trips back. I’m a fan and I’m positive there will be a growing list of folks who will have the same experience. Let’s make sure this place has a home for a long time.

I was a little hesitant given the bumpy history of that location, but a friend recommended it and we gave it a shot... Very very glad we did.. the owners and staff were amazing, couldn't ask to meet a better bunch of people. Service was fast and friendly. Food was phenomenal and the portions were good sized.. we had the nachos and crab cakes as starters, both were amazing.. I had the burger for an entree and my fiancee had a salad with chicken, we were very happy with our choices, but we got the feeling we couldnt have made a bad choice.. The atmosphere was upscale and very nicely finished. Prices were very reasonable. I would highly recommend stopping in to try it out, you'll be glad you did..
