Latest equipment available for checking the 9 layers of the eyes health. So interesting having your results explained to you too. On site lab. I’m always happy with the service received. Needed some hearing aid batteries and made contact with Specsure and they had plenty in stock and sold me a packet. Really good value and great local service.

Last year I was looking for an Opticians and tried to get in. There were so many customers, I changed my mind. But it left the impression, "people are happy to come back". So this year I booked an appointment. My previous Opticians was one of those "very showy" places in Durham. The customer service, the Optician herself and the equipment she used were first class. I ended up not buying glasses (usually have to pay £600+, I am so short sighted), only leaving with £11 worth of eye drops. But they were just glad to serve. I will return because nothing was too much trouble despite being there over an hour. I had guessed I had cataracts, but she was the first optician to tell me. She also explained all the issues I had been having in a way that convinced me she knew her stuff. And their fancy new imaging kit showed me that my retina was healthy even if my eyes were not. Give them a try. I've had glasses/lenses since 11 and only know one optician as good. He retired. They also do other things. So I made an appointment to have my ears cleaned out there instead of my usual place.

Specsure came to our rescue recently and I can't thank them enough. My mother had a nasty fall breaking several bones as well as her glasses. I went to her optician to buy a replacement frame as lenses were intact , they would have to send them away which would take a week or more (as it was close to xmas). I decided to visit specsure (which I use) as I knew they had their own lab , Georgina took lenses and frames away which I thought she was going to check with someone in the lab. Five minutes later she returned with the glasses fitted with lenses and wouldn't even take payment. This was greatly appreciated by my mother who would have struggled while in hospital over Christmas if she couldn't even read. Thankyou specsure.

Delightful welcome and great technical help when my glasses frame (bought elsewhere) unaccountably started bending out of shape. All for free and so courteous and kind.
