I went to see if acupuncture could help with the problem I was having with my balance. After being on a long cruise, I couldn’t get rid of the feeling that I was still on the boat. It had lasted over a year. The acupuncture and physical therapy together anll But eliminated the problem. It returns slightly when I’m stressed, walking in unknown areas in the dark and if I get a sinus problem. But I know how to handle it now and it works.

I have been getting shockwave treatment for a neuroma in my foot. I signed up for 8 sessions to begin with. It was after the 5th session when I had the longest relief of pain. I had 5 days with only an occasional twinge of discomfort which is far better than before treatment. Prior to treatment I always had pain in my foot, and now it’s much lower intensity and only occasionally. Looking forward to more treatments and improvement.

I found Medical Acupuncture through Facebook. I was so impressed my first visit. The staff was very friendly and greeted me upon my arrival. The first visit was all about getting to know my concerns and what goals I wanted to achieve. It is such a relaxing and welcoming environment that you truly feel at peace with each visit. If you are afraid of needles, don't be. The first week of treatment is to see how your body responds. You need to be open minded and calm when you receive these treatments. The mind is a very powerful tool to heal your body. After about two weeks into treatment I felt different already. I was more relaxed, started sleeping better and my muscle aches went away. This is my experience and if you are thinking about trying acupuncture as form of healing, I would highly recommend this office. Medical Acupuncture has been a Godsend to me. I went to them because of pains I have had in my neck for years due to scar tissue. Their shock therapy treatment confirmed this was my issue. I was diagnosed with an aneurysm last Oct. and just had my annual follow up MRA 2 weeks ago and the aneurysm is gone! There is no other explanation for it except the shock therapy treatment breaking up the scar tissue. The area where my aneurysm was at was in the soft tissue and was made up of collagen which is what scar tissue is made of. I overproduce collagen and so it all made sense. I hope to address other areas of concern with scar tissue soon through the shock therapy. I would highly recommend Medical Acupuncture to anyone dealing with unresolved and misdiagnosed pain.

I can’t say enough great things about this place and their treatments. I opted to add Acupunture to my recovery journey from an ankle fracture. I was told the process would be slow and painful, and the horror stories were never ending. I had never considered acupuncture for any ailment but a friend recommended Hiroko for a pinched nerve in my neck. The pain was unbearable and persistent for weeks. I’ve been coming here for a while now for help treating my complex migraine condition and have had great success! I was at primary care physician's office after lab work and was told that I needed to go on Metformin. I asked why my A1C is a 6 why take this medication. The response from the attending was oh the doctor puts everyone at this age on this med to prevent your pancreas from overworking. I advice I didnt want to take it her response was this will be what the doctor will want. I started this medicine and it made me nauseous and made my stomach acid burn and to it did not lower the A1C it still remain a 6. I started to think their must be a more natural way to prevent and overworking the organ and keeping my sugar in check. I neglected to mention that if I ate anything that had some form a sugar it made me jittery. I went on a trip to Puerto Rico to help my cousin's post op recovery from open heart surgery and ran out of Metformin. I watched what I ate and felt good, however in the back of my mind I kept thinking what can I do to help prevent any reason to take this medicine. I asked Hiroko who listen to everything I said. She evaluated me and treated me with Herbs a natural medicine to help your body rid of sugar excess and give the organ a wake up call to do its job. I have to say first the Herb you take 3 times a day after meals and with water. I am no longer spiking with sugar jitters which I got from the Metformin and I don't get nauseous. This is all natural with no side effects. I have to say that the Herbs are tasty too. Dr Hiroko is incredibly comprehensive and worked on the root issues from the first treatment. I have quite severe endometriosis with ovarian cysts. In 5 weeks of intensive treatments, she got my inflammation down substantially ( 60%). I was in a state of total exhaustion with poor sleep when I came to her. I am feeling such an improvement in the quality of my sleep and energy level in just over a month. This level of improvement in just over a month is remarkable! I saw TikTok videos that Hiroko made. I could sense the passion she had for helping others. I tracked her down on the internet and low and behold she was in my state. I drove 2 hrs for my 1st appt. I am also in the medical field and perform Thermography scans on my patients. So when I scanned my own body I could see all the areas of inflammation and places needing help. My problem is that I did not know of a doctor that I felt comfortable with and that would actually "Listen to me" and believe my health issues. My body was in severe pain from previous operations on my neck, knees, and back. I also have Lyme disease and Epstein Barr. So life for me is constant pain all over my body. Hiroko was compassionate and understanding. She explained her services and gave me a tour of the office so I would feel comfortable. She explained the plan she had to heal me and gave me a appx. time frame to heal my body. When I arrived my pain level was definitely a 12, unfortunately, I have become used to the pain. When I left, I could not believe that my pain level was at appx. a level of 2 or 3. My friends say, I am always wound pretty tight and can hardly relax. Hiroko relaxed me to the point that I fell in and out of sleep on the table while she was putting the acupuncture needle in place. I have 3 more sessions booked. I cannot wait for my next visit next week. I feel so much better already. I have full confidence that Hiroko will bring my health back to balance in no time. I’ve been to acupuncturists all over the country and I never experience something like this. Although no one hugged me, I felt like I was in a warm in brace the entire time I was in the office. The initial visit was so thorough and thoughtful. The treatment was fantastic. I truly feel like this was a medical acupuncture visit and not a acupuncture/spa visit which I have experienced so frequently in the past. The staff is really dedicated to helping you get better on a long-term scale and not just feel better that day.

Aleksey is great, very thorough in his understanding and explanations. I always felt comfortable speaking with him and enjoyed the acupuncture and cupping sessions. Would definitely recommend Medical Acupuncture.

I have to say the people at this facility are so helpful. my mother-in-law has had psoriasis and she dealt with it for a few years and her regular doctors were able to give her anything to help.After talking and getting information to the doctors at this facility they were able to put together an herbal package and within a few months her psoriasis was completely gone it’s been almost a year and it is coming back so she starting on the herbs again but she’s had such an amazing results we know that they will continue to work. This was the first time I had acupuncture and I was a little nervous. Hiroko was exceptional at putting me at ease as she thoroughly explained every aspect of the procedure before she began. It was not unpleasant in any way. I was very relaxed and hopeful that this is going to really resolve the recent injury I incurred in my lower back. It is a process just as physical therapy takes many sessions to have lasting results, but I left after the first session in less pain than when I arrived and continue to feel better this evening. I would highly recommend acupuncture and if needed, Hiroko is the perfect person for the treatment. The office was very clean and comfortable. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience.

My first experience with acupuncture! Of course, I didn't know what to expect when my treatment began. After the acupuncture Dr. Shimoda asked me to lie there while she left the room. While lying on the bed I began to relax and become very calm. While lying there my calmness began to bring beautiful thoughts of my birth family and then my own family. I had always been very spectacular about doing Accupunture. Have a cousin you had always swear by it. Finally convinced after so many years and suffering from pain. Finally went this week and was a beautiful experience. She took me in went all over my history and then started to do my initial work up. Didn’t even feel the needles by the time she finish I left that office with minimal pain and able to raise my right arm. Looking forward to going for my next treatment. Wow, what a wonderful team! After being sick for a period of time, I started jogging again and noticed that not even at a quarter mile my feet would get tingly and eventually will go numb. I would have to stop stretching rub them before continuing. Without answers I turnt to acupuncture. My husband was a little skeptic about trying acupuncture for his back and knee pain. After the second treatment he started feeling better and actually enjoys his sessions. Totally recommend it, in case you want to try a different alternative to managing the pain. The office located on a easy accessible place with plenty parking and the staff is wonderful.

I am probably one of the most pessimistic individual to agree to Acupuncture. I have a compressed spine, lower back. the end of a workday included a lot of meds and a night of limping, with a very restless night of sleep. After my first session of acupuncture I was amazed at the relief that I Had. Ashley was wonderful, and made me feel right at home from start to finish with each session. Hiroko Shimoda was outstanding, provided a safe,clean, and relaxing environment to my visits. I would recommend showing up early , trying the foot massage and some wonderful tea to relax before your session. I have not felt this good in a long long time, I sleep better, am less irritable, and in general find life a little more enjoyable without the back pain that I have had going on 30 plus years now. I can not give a higher compliment to the whole team than to say thank you for giving me my life back. I did not know how much pain I was in till you removed most of it. Note to the skeptic, Try it, you have nothing to lose, everything to gain.

Hiroko is wonderful. She is an angel. She knows what she is talking about. She is probably the kindest medical professional that i have ever dealt with. She truly cares about her paitents and does her best to make sure you're taken care of. She also does everything she can to help your condition or conditions. I have many medical problems. Everything got better in our 12 week course. The V.A. is making it easier for vets to have acupuncture. I never had to wait more than 5 minutes in the waiting room, . I tell ya she is the best. There is a tea cart with a variety of teas to choose from. Many interesting books in the comfortable waiting area. I will always come here. Trust me pick Hiroko. I was raised in a medical family (parents doctors). I was always taught by them that acupuncture was 'voodoo' medicine, so I never gave it any thought. When medications and physical therapy were unsuccessful in managing pain in my knees, hips and shoulders, I was referred to Dr. Shimoda for acupuncture. I went, being extremely skeptical of the "voodoo" medicine. In 60+ years of my life, I have never experienced such relief of chronic severe arthritic pain as when Dr. Shimoda worked her miracle. The acupuncture therapy is the best pain relief I've ever experienced. She is very gently, explains everything she's going to do, and there is virtually no pain, and sometimes, almost instant pain relief as she inserts the little needles. I would HIGHLY recommend anyone else with chronic pain to try acupuncture therapy. And Dr. Shimoda would be my first recommendation. I'm looking forward to the rest of my therapy regimen.

Highly recommend! Hiroku is attentive and takes the time to understand what symptoms I am experiencing and takes multiple approaches in her treatments. She also is able to listen to what my body needs as she is doing her work. You can tell she truly has a passion for helping others and that really reflects in her patient care.

Hiroko is great at what she does Her treatments are effective and her office is peaceful. She cares about her patients and it shows!
