I first went to Shanthala MD a few years ago when I wanted to start doing a little maintenance for wrinkles. I shared my concerns and she gave me some recommendations and I've been seeing her on/off for a few years for botox - mostly addressing my 11s and experimenting with botox to give my eyebrows a little lift or smoothing minor crows' feet. (My "off" times being when I've been pregnant.) It was important to me to see a MD and I always feel like I'm in trusted hands. I had the pleasure of receiving a skin care consulation and treatment by Dr. Shantala. The office was welcoming and comfortable, with ample, easy parking. Dr. Shantala’s credentials are clearly displayed and very impressive. I recently had UltraClear laser with laser coring for face and neck with Dr. Shanthala. I chose her after doing a lot of research on different procedures and providers. I was able to attend one of her open houses where I met some of her patients and even the founders of the UltraClear company. They were all very open about the UltraClear experience and they were able to answer my questions. The procedure itself took about an hour. Dr. Shanthala had prepped me extensively ahead of time so I knew what to expect during and after the procedure. The downtime for me was about 6 days. During that time and for several weeks after Dr. Shanthala checked in me daily at first and then every few days. I have never had such a caring doctor.

I don’t usually write a review but had to tell you about my experience with Dr. Shanthala. She is an amazing person and physician. Caring, fun, and dedicated to her patients. I was searching on google and landed on her website to discover a laser treatment I never heard of that caught my attention, “UltraClear Laser-Coring”. I decided to attend her 10th Anniversary event with my cousin who was also interested in finding out more. Her clients were there who had the treatment done and we learned a lot. We both decided to have UltraClear Laser-Coring done. It was the best decision I have made. I am so happy with the results. Dr. Shanthala in our consultation explained the process from pre, during and post treatment. She followed up daily on our progress. I can’t say enough about the attention she gave us. I learned so much from her on how we should really take care of our skin. My husband decided to have the 3D Miracle treatment after meeting her during my visits. One year ago: My personal experience with acne scarring has been traumatic. I have spent life long search for the right doctor and the right procedure for scar revision. The scar revision process is times taking and she will explain it all in detail. Dr. Shanthala is an unbelievably qualified professional; she gives talks globally about the 3D Ultraclear Laser Treatment and its options and applications, among many other topics, and is a pioneer in her field. Her office is both cozy and clinical - you feel welcome and reassured that you are in a true medical provider’s care. The treatment starts with numbing cream (although for my “lunchtime facial” option, this was probably not even necessary - but I appreciated it nonetheless!) and then she explains what to expect during and after the procedure. The laser treatment is fast and painless. The machine can be loud because the fan keeps this laser truly “cool” and there’s no/very minimal sensation or burning. It’s comfortable enough to talk throughout the process. It takes about 15-20 minutes to do the actual laser, then you wash off the numbing cream with a gentle soap. Right after the treatment, you’ll be red — I’d equate it to a sunburn or how I look after a 5k run, but nothing alarming. It’s critical to stay completely out of the sun during healing, especially your first 72ish hours (but Dr. Shanthala will talk you through the aftercare in full). Tip: being a sunhat with you so you aren’t even exposed between the office and your car! The first 24 hours I felt some tenderness, but again, similar to a sunburn. I went about my regular activities that evening, went out to dinner, and ran errands the next day (with a hat!). By day 3, the redness comes down significantly. From days 4-8 my skin was dry and flaky, but never peeled the way you see a chemical peel or deep laser facial do. I used a clinical cream and aquaphor to keep my skin hydrated throughout the first 10ish days, applying as needed. Since the procedure about a month ago, my skin feels smoother, looks more balanced, and a woman at the store this week told me I looked like I was in my mid-20s with no makeup on (I’m 37!). It’s a procedure I would certainly get again, as the effects are both short term and long term. And I would only trust Dr. Shanthala to do it — although minimally invasive and completely painless, it’s still laser and I want to know I’m in the capable hands of an MD. I have been getting fillers, Botox, radio frequency devices, etc..over the past 15 years from various medspas. I have always been one to go on the more conservative side and was really conscious of not over doing it. Lately, however I noticed intense puffiness around my eyes. I thought this was due to just the normal aging process. I started doing some home remedies to help. I tried everything from castor oil, cold green tea bags, ice, to red light therapy and nothing worked. This was a great experience and I am glad that I saw Dr Shanthala for a relatively deep UltraClear laser facial coring, made more effective by re-contouring with Botox, fillers and Radiesse during the procedure. In her careful regimen, a prophylactic anti-viral is prescribed to spare the patient from a cold sore outbreak post-procedure, which indicated to me that she really has her patients’ best interests in mind. She explains the aftercare for the mild discomfort in direct and simple terms, and the process was not hard to follow. I was surprised to learn that the redness and heat can be wonderfully kept under control with a simple solution of icy cool spring water and a small amount of vinegar, applied with a very clean technique every hour or so, and a soothing, over the counter ointment. This is followed with a series of products that the good doctor provides and it is best not to use anything she has not given to you or recommended that you use. Despite the deep (2mm) coring, by following the regimen, I healed very quickly, peeled very quickly and saw my results very quickly! Pardon my smileless countenance, but you can clearly see the improvements.

Ultraclear laser and Lasercoring with Dr. Shanthala I have been going to Dr. Shanthala for a number of years and less than two weeks ago I had facial treatment with the Ultraclear laser and Lasercoring. I am so thrilled with the results. I did not use any numbing pre-treatment and the recovery process was only a few days. I had to travel to three different conferences the following week after treatment and I was able to present without any issues. Dr. Shanthala is an incredible doctor, and I would get laser treatment with the Ultraclear laser and Lasercoring again. All the treatments Dr. Shanthala offers are amazing. Now, just over one and half weeks out from my initial visit, I couldn't be happier with the results. My skin looks great, and the treatment areas look youthful and natural.

When I was in my early thirties, I worked with an attractive woman who was also my own age. She stated that taking care of your skin was more important than being pretty. She claimed it gave you confidence and self assurance. Maybe that’s where “Put your best face forward” comes from. I haven’t seen her in years, but from that point on, I’ve tried to do right by my skin after years of being a sun lover. It’s fairly easy nowadays to find information on skincare treatments and products. I was looking for a treatment that was not injections. Financially, injectables are the equivalent of death by a thousand paper cuts. They give wonderful results, but are temporary. Ultra Clear laser is the most recent and promising treatment I’ve come across. My understanding of how it works: a handheld device has a grid with holes in it. These holes allow the cold laser to penetrate, causing small holes in your skin. As your skin heals, it also tightens the skin and induces collagen formation. I’m almost two full years out from my last appointment with Shanthala, and she has without a doubt changed my life. I first contacted Shanthala in the summer of 2020 to see if she could help treat my acne scars. I had perfect skin all through my teenage years, then started breaking out when I turned 21. Over the years I struggled with adult acne off and on, some of which turned cystic leaving me with various forms of scarring — rolling scars and boxcar scars mainly. It was very difficult for me to reconcile the damage that my acne had done to my skin over the years. I first had a virtual consultation with Dr. Shanthala in the fall of 2020, she was incredibly kind — she asked me to stand under various light sources so she could see the extent of my scarring. We had a warm conversation about managing expectations of what I should expect after treatments and that there are no cures for acne scars, they can only make the scars look more like normal skin, but that it is a long process and I should not expect perfection. My skin will not look the way it did prior to my breakouts, but I wanted to follow through on some treatments. I saw her three times over the last three years — where she did a combination of several treatments. I went to Shanthala specifically because she does subcision — being an active member of certain online communities, it seemed that the general consensus was that subcision can work well with other treatments. My main treatments were subcision, rf microneeling, and prp with traditional microneedling pen. The last session we did pdo threads instead of the microneedling pen. The treatments were mainly painless, but the rf microneedling was the most painful, but still manageable. I’ve seen great improvement in my skin texture over the last few years. My scars are a lot more shallow and a lot of the hollowing from the deeper cysts have filled in too. I can look at pictures of my face and not feel self conscious about what I see. I still have visible scarring, but the procedures have made it so I’m not so worried about what my face looks like all the time when I’m in a social setting. I feel like I got a part of my life back that had been missing for 15 years. Dr. Shanthala was honest, sensitive to my needs, pleasant, and hilarious. She was so personable during our sessions, often talking about her family and asking me about my personal life. I am 53 and take great care of my skin. I have done and am familiar with numerous treatments, lasers and injections with many doctors and aestheticians. I went to Dr Shanthala bc I read about her use of exosomes and her focus on regenerating aged or damaged skin. I am at the point where I’m debating getting a surgical lower lift but after seeing her I am feeling much better about my lower face and neck. Using laser, micro needling, exosomes, bio stimulators and Botox (in staggered appointments) I am seeing so much improvement with my neck and lower face. Excellent! I am a board certified anesthesiologist with a hectic schedule and Dr. Shanthala was so helpful and flexible while scheduling my appointments. She is extremely thoughtful when it comes to consults. She first photographs your face to study all of your facial expressions. Her knowledge base on every aspect of the anatomy is truly impressive. I used to have two injections in my mentalis and she explained a different approach she used to preserve a more natural smile. After your photos are complete she then discusses her procedural plans with you. I had facial toxin between my eyebrows (orbicularis/corrugator/procerus) and my mentalis. Everything was sterile and pristine. She had such a gentle touch! After the procedure she made a follow up appointment with me so we could go over the results. I was in love with my results! She is truly a dedicated physician who cares deeply about her outcomes and wants her patients to feel their best. She also does not over do it. I had inquired about other injectables and other facial spots for toxin. As a person with dark skin and acne scars, treatment requires the best in the business. I came to Dr. Shanthala because I believed she had the knowledge and expertise to help me in my acne scar treatment journey. Over the last five months, we have done a variety of treatments including: subsicion, RF micro needling, peels, and lasers. After each session, I can see visible improvements in my skin, the scars getting less deep and the skin texture becoming smoother and color becoming more even. Being a 24 years old male having pimple all over my faces is always an uncomfortable feeling that I had to carried with me for good 5 years. Finally I found Dr. Shanthala information from a friend of mine, since then everything has changed. It’s my 4th Microneedling process and all my pimples are gone and my face start shining and pimple scars slowly disappearing. Before even I start this process, Dr.S explained everything to me what to expect and how it will change everything slowly. I would definitely recommend anyone first have a conversation with her ask her questions as much you can just to know the entire details and then take your decision, she will always advice you the best that will work for you perfectly because I know for fact she been in this filed for while so she know how things works.

She tailors everything to her patients, does not try to recommend treatments she truly does not believe will get you the results you are looking for. She does not want to have her patients waste my money. She explained what kind of scar I have and advised that it is difficult it is to treat and she wasn't sure ow much improvement I could expect. I wanted to proceed knowing that- so she developed a custom treatment to help improve it and advised that it would not be a one and done procedure. I have not included pictures yet because it takes time for the full benefit of co2 resurfacing to be apparent. I also had a freckle treated. I came to Dr Shanthala in need of extensive work for severely depressed acne scarring after researching her background (Harvard-trained) and her services, most particularly subcision and fillers. She gave me those and so much more--I’ve since been seeing her for several months, having done subcision, microneedling (including RF), exosomes, fillers like Sculptra and Radiesse, PDO threads, TCA, Botox, and I intend to do more now that skin’s raised, like lasers. Outside the office, I’ve followed her skinscare routine to the letter, with Alastin and sunblock, and that itself has done wonders, especially for my skin’s oiliness. Dr. Shanthala’s enthusiasm in fixing my skin is on par with mine, if not more. The difference in my skin has been much more than I thought I could achieve in under a year—I can only imagine how much better it’ll get!

In the past, I’ve looked at Yelp for reviews on businesses for a service I needed. The recommendations were all over the place and sometimes my history of interaction was the opposite of the reviewer. I’ve recently perused comments about ShalathalaMD. Perhaps I’m prejudiced but in my educated opinion Dr. Shanthala is a brilliant and meticulous physician who continuously attends seminars to stay up-to-date in the newest aesthetic procedures. I am an RN who previously worked with Dr. Shanthala. And also a pAgilent. I was witness to the ethics, honesty, competence, professional and kindness she showed towards her patients. Now I want to review PDO threads. These absorbable suture-like threads help lessen laxity of the facial skin..Especially the jowls. I’ve had this procedure and can attest to the fact that the results of the treatment exceeded my expectations. I didn’t look pulled tight and taut…instead I looked natural and refreshed. Oh yes, the threads helped very much to tighten the jowls …something I noticed immediately. The recovery is simple. No smiling or drastic facial movements for a few days. Do I recommend PDO threads???…absolutely!!!

I turned 60 in February. I have never had any “work” done. I had tried Botox a couple of times but, was not impressed. I did not like the way my face was getting kind of saggy and my eyes were always tired looking. I wasn’t sure exactly what it was that I wanted to do. Arlene, who books the appointments for the doctor was very helpful and patiently answered tons of questions for me before I even made my appointment. When I arrived at the Med Spa, I immediately felt comfortable with all of the COVID precautions that the staff took to keep me safe. The Spa itself is beautiful, bright and clean. Dr. Shanthala sat with me for a long time talking about what I was looking to achieve and the different options that she could offer me. I liked that she was very honest about the result so that I did not have any false expectations. I ultimately decided to do a PDO Thread Lift with some Juvederm and Botox. The procedure itself was practically painless. Dr. Shanthala is very gentle and takes her time. I never felt like she was rushing or in a hurry. She took the time to talk to me during the whole thing. I never once felt uneasy or uncomfortable. I even allowed her to record a part of my procedure and show it live on her Facebook Page. Check me out! The recovery was very easy as well. I’ll admit it was uncomfortable to smile or make any big expressions for a couple of days. I was at my desk at work the next day and out with friends that weekend. As for the result, take a look at the pictures. I love my result. I don’t look like I’ve had anything done. I look refreshed and a bit firmer. I love the way the Juvederm filled in under my eyes a bit and the Botox around my eyes really opened them up. My experience with Dr. S has been great! She's extremely comprehensive and methodical with her work - she spends so much time with her patients, ensuring she does the right thing in the right way. This review is highly overdue by over a year! I first sought out Dr. Shanthala, from Boston, in the fall of 2020 based on her reviews. Her conservative treatment, aesthetic eye, and candor were all mentioned on various review platforms and compelled me to make that first call. When I spoke with Arlene, she answered all my Qs, and (most importantly) she patiently listened! I wasn't just a number. She even put Dr. Shanthala on the phone, right then, too! I was cautious, as I knew I didn't want to be "sold" something I didn't need or be overtreated. (I had seen a previous aesthetician RN south of Boston who had done just that.) I was a bit nervous on my first visit, but Dr. Shanthala makes you feel as if you are her only patient - she and Arlene are kind and welcoming and I instantly relaxed. She took detailed before and after photos in proper lighting (so you can actually see the issues that may need treating) and was straightforward and honest about what could be done and should (or should not) be done. I so appreciated her frankness and was laughing in no time! I am beyond thrilled that I went out of my way to get to her office in Peabody back in 2020. The experience I've had here has been the best experience I've had at any other place I've gone. Dr. Shathala takes the time through the whole process to explain everything in such a manner that you understand completely and she follows through with phone calls and texts. I visited Dr. Shanthala recently for some facial procedures to help with age related skin issues. The office is serene and lovely and Dr. Shanthala is a calm presence. I appreciate the fact that procedures are not “one size fits all”, and that she will only recommend what will be most effective for one’s age and skin conditions. I am a 70 year old woman and I don’t expect to have the same results as someone 10 or 20 years younger. Dr. Shanthala is the first med spa location I have visited. Got my first Botox ever done here recently between my eyebrows and for crows feet. Dr. Shanthala was great and personable and made me feel comfortable! I waited to write this review until my third Botox appointment, I started Botox for my first time during Covid-19, which made me doubly nervous but I was put at ease from my first call with Arlene. We went over the Covid-19 procedures put in place, which made me feel comfortable coming in for my consult. Day of consult and meeting Shanthala really put me at ease. There is something calming and caring about her that you don’t see in her one of work. After asking me what I wanted done ( never imposing her opinion) we went over what the procedure looked like, my thoughts and concerns, then I went for it. BEST decision I ever made for myself. Dr Shanthala is lovely. She is very honest and clearly cares deeply about her work. She is generous with her time and doesn't give you any unrealistic expectations. I used to go to one of the top surgeons in Boston but I am only going to Dr S from now on. I have also tried a number of procedures now: thread lifts, filler, kybella, botox. But I CANNOT say enough about "XO facelift" which is microneedling with exosome therapy -a new treatment that uses stem cells. It's similar to the vampire facelift but instead of platelets from your own blood they use stem cells or "exosomes". The procedure is quite painful. She uses a device which sticks a needle pretty deep into your face over and over, then she puts exosomes - stem cells over the injury so that it is fully absorbed deeply under your skin. It takes about a month to see results. But I had multiple people commenting that I looked 10 years younger. That was after only 1 treatment. Apparently they recommend you do it twice for best results. I think I will do it 1-2 times/ year and nothing else from now on. From what I understand this procedure is still not FDA approved so it's not well known. Don't be afraid. You will not be sorry. My skin is tighter and clearer. I didn't even realize it would do away with my marionette lines but they are gone. No more forehead line. No more bumps under my eyes. Amazing. This proceedure is going be be the future of anti aging treatment.

I visited Dr. Shanthala’s MedSpa last month for a P-Shot. Before my visit I had done quite a bit of my own research into this procedure. I've had three vampire facials done at ShanthalaMD Medspa and each time has been a positive experience. Dr. Shanthala is straight forward and honest. I've never felt like she was trying to sell me on anything. She sets very realistic expectations for treatment. After 3 vampire facials, spaced out about a month apart, I've noticed a significant improvement in my skin! The texture, quality, smoothness, and acne scarring has all improved. Dr. Shanthala always recommends treating acne scars with vampire facials first. So if you are dead set on another type of procedure for acne scars, don't be disappointed if she decides it is not appropriate for you. The vampire facial is a great first step in improving skin quality, including reducing acne scars. If I decide to try another type of treatment in the future, I trust Dr. Shanthala to be honest and helpful with making my decision. The facility is very clean and beautifully decorated, which is a plus. Arlene is also very helpful and responsive to any questions/concerns. If you are primarily looking to support acne-prone skin, I encourage you to also consider working with a dietitian (RD) to improve gut health. Water-intake and antioxidant- intake greatly impact the quality of your skin, as does avoiding certain "trigger" foods. Some of these possibly triggering foods include: certain dairy products, refined/ processed sugars, and alcohol. That being said, every individual is unique, which is why working with a dietitian for tailored support is key. Overall, I am very happy with my results and experience, and plan on continuing to receive treatments from Dr. Shanthala!

Today I received a PRP Vampire Facial (platelet -rich-plasma) by Dr Shanthala. I am 70 years old and was very concerned about the loss of collagen and wrinkles especially around my nasolabial folds. I really appreciate that I was able to send a text message to this business. I received a response from an actual person (not a robot) who provided me information about the doctor, treatment options, and scheduling information. I really want to emphasize how well thought out the text message exchange was and how easy it was to communicate my needs. To my surprise, Dr. Shanthala was the one who followed up with a phone call to answer any questions or concerns I had about my treatment. I was scheduled to come in for my appointment that week. Finding the office was effortless and there was plenty of parking. When I walked in, there were clear instructions on filling out paperwork, putting on shoe covers, and ringing a video doorbell to enter the main lobby. It was obvious that this business takes COVID-19 very seriously and wants to keep everyone safe. There were signs everywhere to clearly emphasize social distancing and keeping a face mask on at all times. I had my temperature checked (contactless, of course) and was taken right away to the clean and tidy treatment room. Less than a moment later, I met Dr. Shanthala. She was very attentive and genuinely put me at ease. Again, as a male who has never received treatment before, I felt like I was chatting with a longtime friend. Dr. Shanthala knew I was there for Botox. She brought it to my attention that my wrinkles were pretty similar to a patient she had treated before and showcased before and after pictures from a gallery. Botox would only address part of what I needed due to the type of wrinkles I had. She demonstrated this by taking pictures of my face in various poses (happy, angry, neutral, etc.) and explained what Botox does and how my facial muscles are involved. She used a cool app on her phone to overlay muscles on top of my face to showcase what’s behind my wrinkles. It turns out, to truly address what I specifically came in for (i.e., wrinkles between the eyebrows), my wrinkles required some extra attention (purposefully leaving out details here!). This is not to say that she was discouraging me or trying to commit me to something I didn’t need—she truly provided her expert assessment for exactly what I wanted to accomplish. She also went into detail about how the procedure is done, how other doctors might approach it, and why she does it her way. She explained the risks and the expectation of additional treatments beyond Botox. It was refreshing to hear this explained so well from Dr. Shanthala; she is simply exemplary. Although I am summarizing most of our exchange and visit (and leaving out some treatment-specific details), I want to highlight that Dr. Shanthala was indeed fully committed to me as a patient. At no time did I feel rushed or unimportant. Like I said before, it felt like I was with a longtime friend—just one that has years of experience, an abundance of talent, the brilliancy of a Harvard and Yale background, and a safe, clean, and well-equipped cosmetic medicine clinic deserving the highest praise and appreciation. ShanthalaMD Medspa and Laser Center is a gem!

Dr. Shanthala is the best doctor I could’ve asked for for my first cosmetic procedure. I’m only 21 but I decided to get preventative/baby botox with her on my 11 lines, eyebrows, and forehead to prevent the wrinkles that I knew would be visible in the future. I love the results. She did a very thorough and honest evaluation and was super funny, entertaining, and soothing throughout. She explained her entire process well and was careful to deliver natural results based on the pre-botox photos she took (she has you take photos in her office making a bunch of different facial expressions to see how the muscles in your face work). She is an amazing doctor who cares very much about her patients and will listen and guide you through the process. I will definitely be back!!

I have been searching for a trustworthy clinic in Massachusetts for a long time. I came across Dr. Shanthala’s and read all the positive reviews, I decided to come see her back in 2020. Despite all that’s happening during pandemic time, I feel very safe and comfortable in the clinic. Her assistant is very friendly and helpful as well. I wanted some structure on my jaw line but I also didn’t want to overdo Botox on my face since I’m only in my early 30s. Dr. Shanthala was very understanding. She answered all the questions that I have and suggested on what I should do. She made me feel comfortable when we did the procedure. It was very easy, fast and not painful at all. I was very happy with the results couple months later as she educated me that Botox results may take some time and work different for everybody. I just had my 2nd appointment today and already looking forward for my next appointment! Dr. Shanthala and her assistant made the clinic feel like a place where you can feel comfortable as like you’re catching up with friends!

What an amazing experience I had with Dr. Shanthala. I was incredibly nervous when I arrived for my procedure. She was warm, funny and informative. I received under eye and cheek filler for volume loss. I am 37 years old and I am so satisfied with my results. One thing i believe, The people from public service ( especially clinical service ) have to explain everything to their patient in the non clinical language/ non technical language. I’ve been to Dr. Shanthala a few times now, my first visit I received Botox and under eye filler which I was nervous about but Dr. Shanthala was extremely thorough in explaining what she was going to be doing and what to expect, she used a cannula for my under eyes so it was virtually painless, and most importantly it came out amazing. Thank you for making this tired mom of 2 look like she actually gets some sleep! I really cannot say enough good things about Dr. Shanthala’s practice. I have had really bad experiences with so called injection specialists and plastic surgery experts all in just the 6 months that I started my journey of wanting to look better. I went to Dr. Shanthala with the intent of getting fillers for my marionette lines and nasolabial folds. After taking a series of photos and examining my face she advised me that fillers were not going to achieve optimal results and I wouldn’t be happy. She suggested another procedure. Dr Shanthala SAVED ME !!! After going to a different spa to do a touch up on my lips I came out with uneven lumpy overfilled lips. I was freaking out and needed correction right away but was afraid to return to the original spa as their response was that it would naturally go down, it was fine, give it time, etc...I was freaking out and after reaching out to a friend of mine she recommended Dr Shanthala and I called and she saw me in her office within an hour. Look no further!!! I wanted to do lip injections for a long time. Took a chance on Dr. Shanthala office because of the great reviews that she has on Google ( btw all true). Called them a decided go in and do it! I have been blown away with my results and Dr. Shanthala herself and her assistant Arlene. I went to Dr. Shanthala for treatment of acne scars, and she has been fantastic. She is obviously extremely knowledgeable, much more so than any of the specialists I have seen in the past. She uses a combination of techniques, tailored to the scar and location on the face, in order to maximize results and minimize side effects. I can tell that she cares about the results very much. She even included some additional components to my treatment at the last minute because she thought that it would enhance my results, at no additional cost. I have only seen her for one treatment but so far the results are way better than I expected anyone could deliver this quickly. Having had treatments in the past that resulted in very little improvement, I did not expect results that are so dramatic. I highly recommend her for anyone looking for acne scar treatment. After this treatment I used Dr. Shanthala again for a P-shot, otherwise known as priapus shot. I was much more comfortable with a woman performing it, and Dr. Shanthala is great at putting you at ease! I wouldn't use any other doctor after her! She also used some extra PRP for continued treatment of some old acne scars. She really cares about her patients, and wants them to have the best outcome. I can't rate her highly enough!

I had the Priapus shot (P-shot) with Dr. Shanthala. I am a 34 year old male, and I was worried that it would be a bit uncomfortable to discuss the procedure. I am a 50 years chinese women. I did Ultherapy on my whole face without applying anaesthetic. A little bit burning hurt on face but not very severe after treatment. Dr. Shanthala is very patient and professional. She would take photos before trearment and then compare with then after months. This is the second time I come to see Santhala MD，she is always scrupulous even this time I was injected 100units Botox，after knowing my detail requirement she drew the spots and lines on my face forehand then injected and checked constantly my face left side with right side. After treatment I was given a post-instruction，remind me the notice. The result is fabulous and obvious. My eye brow lift immediately after treatment and my whole face is lifting. Pleasant and professional experience.

Along with her green eyes..I have inherited my mother's hands unfortunately. This basically means the veiny...thin skinned boney look that most women end up with in old age I ended up with rather young and it just got worse each year. I read about hand injections some time ago and I was worried about looking puffy and fake. I have had the immense pleasure of knowing Dr. Shanthala since she opened her Med Spa several years ago. I was first stuck her personal warmth and generosity of spirit. Her office is so welcoming and her staff is genuine and very helpful. Learning of Dr. Shanthala's extensive medical experience and Ivy League education, I immediately realized I was in the right place. My initial fear/reluctance to use fillers to correct a problem (some of which resulting from an accident) were relieved by the Dr.'s careful and painstaking explanation of what realistic result I could expect. I was overwhelmed to think I could feel confident about my appearance once again. After the first visit, I could not believe the immediate results from the variety of fillers the Dr. used to restore the lower part of my face. Dr. Shanthala was as gentle as anyone could ever imagine. She reassured me continually during the procedure while making sure I was not experiencing any discomfort. A variety of fillers were used for the different concerns, scarring, depression lines, lack of volume. Dr. Shanthala was so expert in injecting and reassuring me during the process that I could relax and know I was in the best hands possible. Now, I have the fillers several times a year, depending on the area needed, and each time there was either no swelling or very minor swelling which dissipated after a few days and there was minimal bruising which could be easily covered with makeup if necessary. Dr. Shanthala is a genius! Her approach is always based on an individualized treatment plan. As patients, we go in requesting our ”want” for a given treatment. What I love, is that she sits with me, truly listens, then gives me her professional recommendation based my anatomy and individual aesthetics. Never what I expect to hear. Her results have always been right on!

For about the last 10 years, I have been trying various treatments to improve my acne scarring from multiple rounds of cystic acne. Aggressive Dermapen microneedling, Infini RF, one session of fraxel that went poorly (indian skin), chemical peels, subcision, etc with varying results. Dr Shanthala's combination of subcision with Endymed Intensif RF microneedling has produced the best results thus far. For those with severe acne scarring, DO NOT expect miracles, it's just not going to happen. Dr Shanthala will set realistic expectations, a treatment plan tailored to you, and you can expect visible improvement over time.

Where do I begin? She is conservative yet at the same time liberal. Usually conservative doctors aren't beneficial enough to provide anything lasting and sometimes liberal ones can cause issues and possible deformaties . This woman knows just the right amount of both to be an artist. Most med spas are run by nurses with varying degrees of training. This one is run by a doctor who is constantly feeding her already broad knowledge both in and outside the country. I can't say enough about Dr. Shanthala as a professional and a person. Her staff is carefully chosen to be both friendly and supportive and her facialist will work with the doctor to create a regiment and program that's personalized and effective. You will see from the minute you walk in you will have amazing confidence in your surroundings and a completely unrushed experience! She has done too much for me to mention just one thing but knowing her has changed my life!

If you are reading these reviews because you are searching for the best cosmetic care that you can receive, then you have found the one. I have known Dr. Shanthala for years and I would never think of going to have any cosmetic procedure any where else and you should too. Why would you want to go to any of the med spas or dermatology offices where injections are being given by a "trained" nurse whose training is at best minimal. Why wouldn't you choose to have your procedures performed not only by a fully trained but very experienced physician? If you have trepidation , let me tell you that Dr. Shanthala is someone that will listen to your concerns and will help formulate a treatment plan that is specific to your needs and budget; she is someone you can trust.

Three years ago I made an appointment for a cool sculpting consult with Dr. Shanthala. After the exam the Dr. explained to me that she would not proceed as the cost to me would not be worth the results. She said " save your money". Very ethical, I was impressed and appreciative. I recently returned for another consult and due to physical changes I was a good candidate. The professionalism and care shown to me by the Dr. and her outstanding staff cannot be matched. I've moved forward with a couple of different procedures. I felt treated like a VIP and am grateful for the quality of care and results.

I am extremely pleased with my experience with Dr Shanthala. Prior to my consultation, I had researched procedures and spoke to other practitioners. I was drawn to Shanthala Med Spa because of her online reviews and positive online presence. I am a middle aged female who has decent skin but a hereditary sagging jowl. During my consultation, Dr Shanthala went through various procedures, took pictures and videos of my face and formulated a plan to redistribute my cheek volume upwards using MINT threads and also fillers to add more youthful plumpness. It caused just enough lift/definition to my cheek and jawline but it’s not blatantly obvious to the casual observer. Random observations are clinic is super clean, staff is friendly and helpful and Dr Shanthala is patient, thorough and caring.

I have to admit I was extremely nervous getting botox and fillers done for the first time. I did not know what to expect, but after my consultation all my worries melt away and all my questions were answered. I do not need to tell you much about Dr. Shanthala's background and qualifications. If you do your research you are going to find out that she is extremely qualified and involved with fast growing new technology but I think one of her biggest quality is to be able to listen; she listens to your wishes and educates you thoroughly as to what you can achieve. Spending time with a client and being able to listen is a rare quality in a profit driven business. Most doctors will not even take the time to include you in the decision making process. Many do not even apply treatments to you in person. She is extremely detail oriented and a very cautious person. My impression is that she is not in the business to make a quick buck; instead she wants to surround herself with clients who would be coming back to her for lifetime therefore she invests in herself and her business. I highly recommend Dr. Shanthala.

I've been to other med spas, and Dr Shanthala is truly the best! She takes the time to study your anatomy and then makes suggestions based on her assessment. It's an entirely different experience and after my former results compared to these, I would never go anywhere again! At 34 I have been aware of my skin beginning to show age. More and more I am using products at home for prevention- but its hard to get around those expression lines! I’ve been meaning to write this review for awhile. Really wanted to take my time on it. I found Dr. Shanthala looking at reviews on yelp/google. Her high rating made me decide to book an appointment for a consultation. First thing to know is that I have a major fear of anything doctor related, and have even passed out while getting my blood pressure taken. I initially went in for Botox in my jaw to remedy TMJ pain. She was extremely patient and did everything she could to make sure I was comfortable, including numbing the area prior to the injections. After that appointment and the results were a success, I decided to go back in for lip filler (something I’ve been wanting to do for awhile). Again, I can’t stress enough how comfortable and easy Dr. Shanthala made the process. She listens to your requests and really wants the patient’s experience and outcome to be the best possible. Amazing med spa!!

Dr. Shanthala is truly amazing at what she does! She’s thoughtful and caring. Listens to your wants and needs and advises what she thinks is best. I don’t know if you’re anything like me, but I’m an instant gratification kinda gal. Who thinks more is always better! She cares about her patients and would never do anything that wasn't in their best interest just because that’s what we wanted and were willing to pay. The atmosphere is welcoming and everyone is friendly and kind. I always feel comfortable from the beginning of the procedure, to the end. She talks you through and makes sure you know exactly what’s happening and when. I joked with Marciel as I was booking my next appointment that I will always come to Dr. Shanthala until she stops practicing and even then I may beg her to treat me from home! My lips have never felt fuller and I’ve never had such confidence as I do now!

I have been wanting to get rid of acne scars on my skin from a very very long time. I visited at least 5-6 firms. None of them sounded like they care about healing my skin instead were very eager to book a overpriced session. Dr.Shantala came out as a very compassionate doctor. Suggested what are the skin issues that I really have and what I should ignore probably cause they weren’t an issue at all. She is really good and I highly recommend her. Marciel, the receptionist is very friendly and kind. 5 stars to her.

I’ve been to a couple different places for skin care needs, but Shanthala MD is by far my favorite and will only be going there from now on. My 11 wrinkles were awful, but they now look amazing. And one thing I loved the most, is her honesty. She doesn’t tell u that u need more units or more procedures just to make the money (like other places do). She actually was very honest as to what I should and shouldn’t do (even though if I did what I wanted, it would have been much money) so I really appreciate that. Explained why I shouldn’t do what I had wanted and completely made sense after she explained it. Also, she explains in much detail everything that you are doing, as well as the causes and best treatments skin care. So it helps knowing exactly what she is doing. Overall, this is an Medspa/Laser Clinic and highly recommend it.

I found doctor Shanthala MD spa clinic while browsing on Yelp. I got surprised when I found that all the patients are happy. I didn’t hesitate to call her right away and schedule a consultation with her. Her clinic is so pretty and she is so friendly and knowledgeable person. My issue is adult acne. I have been suffering from acne and acne for 5 years now (I am 26 now) and it was bothering me so much. I tried so much medicines and treatments before but none of them worked (they make it worse). Dr. Shanthala talked to me in details about how to take care of my skin and how to understand its need. She gave me some products to use and she advised me to cut dairy from my routine. We both worked together and we were able to control my acne. Acne issues are so hard to solve and the patient should follow the rules. I cleaned my diet from dairy (which I found it hard at the beginning to live without cheese), added more water, green tea, vitamins, and chamomile tea, and stopped covering the acne and the scars with foundation or BB creams (I used to wear makeup daily to cover the acne and the scars). Also, I am trying to control stress by meditation. After finding the acne trigger (dairy) controlling the acne, we started clearing the skin from the scars. I had two treatments so far, one was PRP with micro-needling and the other one was subcision with RF micro-needling. I have been visiting Dr. Sahanthala now for two months and I am loving the result so far. She cares about her patients a lot and she wants them to feel apply and satisfied. I highly recommend her.

First impression, the shop was beautiful, clean, bright, and airy. The doctor didn't try to push any services on me, we talked about what I wanted, and she made suggestions for a treatment plan. Dr, Shanthala has been helping me with acne scars and aging skin with sun damage, she has also performed two cool sculpting procedures. It is are to find someone as genuinely honest with the focus on trying to grow her business with satisfied patients with sacrificing cost. I am amazed at how comfortable i was made to feel by her form the moment I walked in, she is a true testament to how business should be done in this day in age. I think people loose sight of the fact that it is about building relationships not always about getting the most money out of your patients. I first walked into Dr. Shanthala's Med Spa for a demonstration over a year ago. I left to" think about it". I had had injectables in the past and the procedure was not always pleasant and the results not always so good either. However, as the year passed and the more I looked in the mirror, the more I knew I wanted to do something, and boy am I glad I did. The consultation with Dr. Shanthala put me right at ease, she was patient and informative. She explained everything in detail and she made knowledgeable recommendations. We decided to go with a combination of modified Ultherapy and Bellafill. And I just LOVE the results. Her technique was so different than the other physician's technique, albeit more time consuming. I don't usually write reviews but I just had to now. About 8 months ago, I got a facial filler done at a doctors office like I usually do a couple of times a year. This time though, something went terribly wrong. I'm not sure the what the medical term is for what happened to me, but it seems that the filler was injected into a blood vessel. What followed was horrible. Immediately, the left side of my face went numb and I developed a terrible infection that caused a horrible lesion, and my face to swell and look deformed. I temporarily lost my eye sight in my left eye and was in a lot of pain. I was scared and confused and seeked some answers or even help from the doctor that performed the treatment. To make a long story short, I called the office 5 times before the doctor called me back, only to tell me that I'll be fine and to take some Advil. After 8 months, I still have numbness in my face and a scar from the lesion. I finally decided to consult Dr, Shanathala and get her opinion on whether I would ever be able to do anything to my face again. Call me crazy after what I went through, but at the end of the day, I am still a woman and aging concerns me like all of us. From the moment I walked in to her office, I felt the warmth and calm that she put out. She explained to me what happened to me and let me decide if I wanted to take things slow. I wanted her to do a little filler again, so after 45 minutes of her explaining everything to me, she did, even though I was terrified, and I was thrilled with the results, and I got the courage to do things to my face again with her help. I was very unimpressed; the place I went to was very unprofessional and they did not go over half the stuff that Dr. Shanthala went over with me. I had done 2 procedures in September of 2014: Coolscalpting and Ultherapy. Very happy with results. Coolscalpting helped to shape my body. Now my designer clothes fits me perfectly. Ultherapy maintains my facelift that i had done 5years ago. It lifted my eye brow and shaped to perfection my jaw line. Also the staff made me feel most comfortable and DR. Dr. Shanthala recently recommended Microneedling to solve some of my skin issues (minor dark spots, acne scarring, fine lines). She has only performed one of the suggested 3 treatments and already (1 week later) I can see a HUGE difference. My skin looks more even, smoother and it has taken care of a lot of dryness I had been experiencing. I am impressed! The after effects of the treatment can produce redness that lasted the rest of the day, but it was completely gone by the next morning. Dr. Shanthala is great, she makes suggestions, while somehow still complimenting you at the same time, and without being too pushy. AND, you would be hard pressed to find her prices elsewhere. If you do, I doubt the treatments would be performed by an MD. I will definitely be going back.
