I've always struggled with online courses, I prefer face-to-face. But the Day Skipper course taught me so much, explaining everything in an way that is easy to understand, and at a good pace. My Sailing Course is definately the place to go...quick delivery of training resources, continuous knowledge checks, and a straight forward platform that navigate's you through the process. Excellent course for someone new to sailing to give them the knowledge and skills required to start participating in sailing activities and to gain some knowledge of the skills required to go sailing safely. Doing the course online allowed me to proceed at my own pace and review the information as frequently as required to ensure that I understood the information, rather than trying to keep up with the pace of others in a classroom-based training. I am now looking forward to booking onto my practical course to consolidate the information I have learnt. The Day Skipper Theory course is pretty intense (40+ hours of content to learn across multiple modules) but this is a great course, really well put together and all content is clearly explained throughout. When help or guidance is needed, there’s always a real person available to help - Marcus, Chief Instructor at My Sailing Course, is incredibly attentive and always quick to respond. I loved that I could learn at my own pace, spending a few hours to complete a topic when it fitted in around my schedule rather than being tied in to a specific time each week or having to learn at the speed of the slowest in the class. I feel really well set up for my Day Skipper practical course and to continue on my sailing journey - it’s fantastic that I’ll always have access to the content too, in case I need a refresher. Great job My Sailing Course team!

Clear and well laid out instruction and online tests. Personally, it took significantly longer than advised, but it was a whole new world and I really enjoyed doing it. Recently did Power Boat 2, and the instructor suggested following it up with Seamanship and Navigation. Was too shy to ask for official help through the website so called on friends so have struggled a bit, but took my time because (gloriously!) the course lets you, and have had my eyes opened, going on the water will never be the same again, it will be better!

Marcus from My Sailing Course delivered an outstanding couple of days on the water for me and my 17-year-old daughter. Although we're both qualified Day Skippers with some experience, our sailing had been limited to non-tidal, line-of-sight conditions — so this was our first real taste of the dynamic, tidal Solent.
We set out with a clear goal: to become more confident in boat handling, passage planning, and pilotage in one of the UK’s busiest sailing areas. Marcus crafted a thoughtful and progressive plan that challenged us while keeping the atmosphere relaxed and supportive.
Over the course of two days living aboard, we gained practical skills, deeper understanding, and — most importantly — confidence. Marcus’s calm coaching style and deep local knowledge made all the difference. We came away feeling far better equipped to sail locally and excited to keep improving.

The online content is fantastically written with lots of interactive sections as you progress through the modules. I was able to work through these in my own time and at my own pace.
All of our classroom sessions contained a mixture of presentations, videos, discussions , hands on exercises and plenty of help from the chief instructor.

Marcus is clearly very experienced and really enjoyed his relaxed teaching style. We focussed on passage planning and simple sailing and docking techniques, many of which were new to me. He has a lot of backup material which he shared as useful reference tools. A really worthwhile and enjoyable few days on the water. I would not hesitate in recommending Marcus as a sailing instructor.
