This is a long over due review! Me and my wife stayed here on our honey moon in the detached house overlooking the garden. To say our stay was magical would be an understatement. The grounds itself are beautiful and well kept, the room was cozy and inviting, and the area is perfect for wanting to explore the coastline and surrounding tourist towns. Night time was also exciting, as our room looked out over the garden which was illuminated with the momentary flashes of fireflies. It’s centrally located between Booth Bay Harbor and Pemaquid Point, which boats one of the only lighthouses open to the public! Steve Hawks is also a wonderful host, making us fresh banana bread and coffee in the morning and providing excellent conversation and company when in the main house. He was also incredibly thoughtful while booking, and personally helped me figure out charging my reservation. I would highly recommend staying here if you’re looking for a great central hub between Pemaquid Point, Bristol, and Booth Bay Harbor, and want not only well furnished and comfortable rooms, but also excellent hosting and stimulating conversation.

Steve has created a terrific lodging option for people visiting Pemaquid, South Bristol and environs. He is a friendly, welcoming innkeeper who clearly cares about comfort and cleanliness. Great common area for coffee and gathering, a screened porch, and a gorgeous garden with ample outdoor seating and a fire pit. Highly recommended!

Very beautiful place,Price was perfect just to get some sleep before hitting the road again. The gentleman that helped me check-in had great Carisma.

We loved this place! It was the best place we’ve stayed in our trip so far. It’s cozy, clean, safe, charming and Steve was so kind. Our room was in the guest house, so we had a private space that felt like our own little apartment. The bed was so comfortable and we slept great. Parking was right outside our door - very easy and convenient. In the morning, we enjoyed fresh coffee and banana bread in the common dining room space and enjoyed views of the garden. We would love to come back!!

This place is perfect. My husband and I venture up to this part of Maine every year for an event at Oxbow brewery. We like to find someplace for the night, since the event is all day and we live 3 hours away. We've stayed at several airbnbs, b&b's, and inns in the area, but we were talking about returning to Hawks House right after we left. It's location is close to downtown Damariscotta and only 15 minutes from Oxbow. The rooms were cozy and quiet. There were plenty of outlets too, which is rare to find in these old houses! Steve was a joy from the moment he called to confirm our check in time that morning until we checked out. We look forward to staying there again next year!

We had a wonderful experience at the inn and definitely recommend it. Conveniently located to many attractions but peaceful, comfortable and a bonus of delicious banana bread in the morning. Steve is an excellent host!

Charming old New England inn, with gorgeous gardens (so fragrant!). Steve very helpful. Breakfast is banana bread and tea/coffee. Period. Access to frig for your own food. No TV, but WiFi is good.

Hawks House Inn was lovely, and I plan on returning for another stay soon! The Inn is in a perfect spot to be able to explore Pemaquid (15-20 minutes drive), Damariscotta & New Castle (10 minutes drive), and Boothbay Harbor (30 minute drive). When not touristing, I found the inn to be very charming and tranquil. Steve, the innkeeper, is lovely and very responsive to any questions and needs.

This is one of the nicest places i have ever stayed in. The rooms and the lobby are very cozy. There is a beautiful garden to sit in and our host Steve did his very best so that we could have a good time ( gave us helpful advices for activities and shopping and even helped us with our barbecue in the garden). Highly recommended- especially for the fair price! Thanks to Steve for three wonderful days for our familiy.

Awesome place to stay, I was really sad to leave! The banana bread did make it a sweet goodbye though

I am just finishing my third visit to Hawks House with friends, and have already made a reservation for next summer. I love the absence of TVs and background music in the public areas; the comfortable porches overlooking beautiful gardens; conversations with the interesting, intelligent people who tend to stay here; the sense of peace and civility that characterizes the place.
