We had a lovely mothers day meal at the lodge. Surroundings are beautiful, staff very attentive and efficient, and the food was outstanding. We will most definitely be back!

Had a wonderful afternoon tea here for Mother's Day. I booked online and made a note that we needed one gluten free option. Arrived on the day, were seated as soon as we turned up even though we were a little early and the staff were so lovely and helpful. The food was fantastic and filling! Would definitely visit here again 10/10.

We came today for the first time to the Lodge, just for coffee. It won't be the last time we visit. The coffee was delicious, the setting beautiful and the service over and above expectation. The person who set the tone was the delightful receptionist/waitress, who managed the perfect balance of friendliness and space. She was attentive and helpful without being obtrusive, and made us feel very welcome, so that we are sure we shall return. A gem in beautiful surroundings.

Afternoon tea at The Lodge I came to The Lodge for Afternoom tea with my mum today, we got this via a Wowcher deal. Staff/service/grounds: The service was fantastic, the lady who looked after us was lovely and friendly, attentive and helpful. The other staff member on the desk was polite and friendly. Grounds are beautiful, plenty of parking, ambient lighting throughout and just an all round lovely place. Food: The Afternoon tea looked lovely, it had such a good variety. We requested no fish so this was substituted for extras of the other fillings which were Ham, egg & cress and cucumber with cream cheese - all of which was very nice. My only little bit of criticism of the afternoon tea was that we only received plain scones and no fruit ones like it advertised & they were quite dense/doughy BUT they did taste good and they went down well! The bite size deserts were delicious too. We left absolutely stuffed and highly impressed!! Overall we were highly impressed by the lodge, staff and the quality of the afternoon tea for the price we paid. We will definitely return! Thank you ☺️

2nd visit. Really happy to find a stable room was allocated to us, which are spacious semi self catering 1 bed apartments behind the main hotel, huge bath, rainfall shower etc. Clean and well stocked. Really nice. The restaurant felt a little under staffed at times however the staff are extremely freindly and attentive, the service was good and the steaks were great, particularly the fillet. As for the location, its 2 mins drive away from Imperial war museum duxford and good for transport on the M1. All in all, really enjoyed the stay 😊

4* hotel, and is as it is, food is excellent, service is really good, great for weddings etc which you can hire the venue. Lodges have kitchenettes so self catering or you can have breakfast in the actual lodge.

Cool hotel stay My bf and I stayed in the Main House room No3 and it was splendid - comfy big bed and large shower. We ate in the restaurant and really enjoyed the hot stone steak experience and drinks in the bar. A cool and contemporary find - will stay again.

An absolute corker of a place. Beautifully set in the countryside, quirky design with a Churchillian theme, very comfortable beds, quiet location that allows you to keep the windows open at night without worrying about traffic noise. Delicious breakfast. Special shoutout to Grace behind the bar who went above and beyond in accommodating our slightly left-field cocktail requests. Great show!

The Lodge is a beautiful hotel in pretty surroundings. The interior decor is fantastic from the reception area, restaurant even the restrooms have a real luxury feel. I have not had the pleasure of staying but have been there for breakfasts and afternoon tea. Both the breakfast and afternoon tea are delicious and really good value for money. The tea comes in copper pots which is a lovely touch and the service is excellent. Can highly recommend The Lodge for a quick coffee with friends or a leisurely brunch or afternoon tea.

Lovely stay Hotel is easy to locate, we had a lovely welcome at reception and we appreciated the contact from the hotel a week prior to arrival due to xmas parties and reminded on arrival although we didn’t hear anything which was good! We were invited but had plans already. Parking is plentiful. Bar was very nice, we liked the aesthetic and atmosphere. We stayed in a Superior double room lodge 3, room had a nice vibe, lighting was great in the bathroom. The kettle was a bit of a pain, not plugged in so had to move the whole dressing table to plug it in and had to unplug it to pour a drink. Just a note the flooring on the LHS of the bed as you walk in has sunk a bit but was no issue. Breakfast was LOVELY! Fresh food, piping hot. Waitress was very polite. On checkout though the receptionist didn’t ask us how our stay was or anything, just said ‘thanks, bye.’ Overall we did have a lovely stay, was just a shame in the morning staff weren’t happy at all.

Great Afternoon tea Had a great Afternoon tea with friends today. Sandwiches were lovely and fresh - not overly fancy or swimming in mayonnaise. Proper clotted cream and generous amount of petit fours. Friendly, welcoming and efficient service. Highly recommend.

It's been some time since we last visited The Lodge, but we came today for Sunday lunch in the tipi outside (it's heated, don't worry...). Service was attentive, food was tasty and the Sunday menu was good value for money - not sure if this is permanent or not but offered three courses for £32 which, for this area, is pretty good. In addition, wine and drinks were excellent (local beer and good wine) and reasonably priced. The idea of Sunday lunch in a tent might feel a bit odd but was very atmospheric and warm. Only slightly odd thing is that the table numbers on each table made me feel a little like I was at a corporate awards ceremony.

Made a special day even more special We decided to come to the lodge duxford for afternoon tea with our family and friends after getting married in Saffron Walden. The staff were great and made us feel very welcome. The afternoon tea was great and plenty for everyone, also they catered very well for one of our guests who had food intolerance. Also we stayed, the room in the main house was spacious and we were interested to hear it was the room Winston Churchill used when he visit the spitfire squadron during war time. The breakfast was great with a good choice and again good staff.

Lovely boutique hotel The hotel looks impressive from the outside with well maintained gardens and ample car parking. Inside is tasteful decorated with a spacious restaurant and bar area and some outside seating too. Our room was in the stable block and was a good size. Comfortable king size bed, tea and coffee making facilities and a flat screen tv. Decor was the same theme as the main hotel. Good, hot shower and toiletries provided- hairdryer too. Has dinner and breakfast. Plenty of choice. Food was tasty and good portions. Would stay again if we were visiting this area.

Great lunch I met a friend for lunch here as this was a good halfway point for us both. We sat inside as it was a bit too chilly to be outside unfortunately. We both had the nicoise salad, which was good and we also had mocktails. We thought the restaurant decor was lovely and we experienced great service. It was very quiet and we did not feel at all rushed. Car parking is quite limited, although I’m sure you could park nearby if the car park is full. We will definitely be back.

Birthday Treat. I believe in being fair and honest in my reviews, so here go'es. I booked the Lodge at Duxford for my Partners birthday, on arrival driving down the drive, we were Wow Wow, and this continued through the hotel, grounds, tee pee tent amazing, our room was lovely, we were very early for the 3pm check in tbh, but happy to wait, but it actually went right to the wire, I know someone has to be first serviced rooms and some last, but I would have thought as they knew we were waiting our room could have been done quicker as it was'nt exactly busy. When we dud get in the toilet bin was over flowing, and only 1 half used toilet roll and a very meagre hospitality tray. My Partner loves coffee so the Nepresso machine was a lovely bonus. Nice fresh towels and clean bathroom, wonderful rain shower. We ate in the restaurant Sunday evening, we were just about the only people in there, we both ordered the roast pork, when it arrived OMG a huge plateful, but we soon realised it was quantity over quality, pork was great, yorkshires were cold, roast potatoes soggy, gravy really over flavoured. Sorry did'nt eat much of mine, but the stafff made a great effort with the chocolate birthday plate, which was so appreciated! breakfast the next day was again lack lustre, I had the full English, scrambled egg was delicious , moist and hot not so the rest, all lacking heat, my Partner had Eggs Royale , poached eggs hard, but the rest was ok! Monday evening we had taglitellie and the hot stone rib eye both delicious, I like my steak well done which was good, as the steak came out on the stone fairly well into cooking, did'nt bother me but if you like your steak rare, your out of luck. Serving staff both nights were amazing, attentive and helpful, definately an asset to the Loge. So to sum up our stay, very pleasent, not outstanding, the hotel, grounds and decor are amazing, it has a lovely ambience, the food is ok, but far from amazing, it needs a few tweeks! I.E quality over quantity. Rooms lovely well appointed but hospitality tray needs a re-think. Would I stay here again, maybe. Just to give it the benefit of the doubt!
