We are incredibly happy with the work Great American Exteriors did on our house. We contacted multiple companies asking for help with our Tudor style home. Our old stucco boards from the late 70’s were crumbling apart due to moisture and age. Majority of the companies just told us that it would be easier and cheaper to just replace our stucco boards with siding. Great American was one of the few that knew exactly what it was we wanted and was able to familiarize us with the materials and process. Everyone we worked with was awesome from the initial sit down, to bringing us samples of materials and colors, to the crew that worked on the house. Everyone was knowledgeable and responsive and the cost was very reasonable for the amount of work done. The quality of the work is fantastic and the crew was amazing and helped answer or address any concerns we had. It was a huge project but Great American made the whole experience smooth and as stress free as possible. Very happy we went with this company. The final product looks great and we are incredibly happy that we found a company that was as enthusiastic as we were about keeping the original Tudor style look of our home. Highly recommended!

GRAMEX transformed the front of our house! We had the red brick painted white and colonial style wooden posts replaced with squared white composite posts.The front door is so much nicer than anything you could get at home improvement store. The door is high quality, custom made and we were able to have one color on the outside and a different one on the inside. We replaced the side panel windows which now let in more light and tie in with the door to make the door actually look bigger. The work is beautiful and everyone was great to work with and professional. I like that they have been working with the company for years and take pride in their work. I definitely recommend them.

We recently completed a full exterior renovation with Great American Exteriors, and I couldn’t be more satisfied with the entire experience from start to finish. The project included removing our existing aluminum siding and replacing it with Hardie board, along with installing a new entrance door with a side panel, oversized gutters, and a beautiful cupola at the peak of our garage. The transformation is incredible—our home truly looks brand new. What stood out most was the professionalism and quality of work from all three crews: the Hardie board installers, the entrance door installation team, and the gutter installers. Each crew was friendly, communicative, and easy to work with. They kept us informed throughout the process and were always respectful of our property. The siding portion of the project moved quickly and efficiently. Within just one week, the old aluminum siding was completely removed, underlayment was installed, and the new Hardie board siding was up. The finishing detail of trimming out the windows in a contrasting color really frames the house beautifully and adds to the overall curb appeal. We also appreciated the attention to safety and cleanliness. At the end of each day, the yard was thoroughly cleaned, materials were neatly stored undercover, and the scaffolding was secured and locked into place. I’ll start by saying that Great American Exteriors—GRAMEX— did a fabulous job replacing the siding on our 150 year-old home. We are 100% delighted with the competitive price, their work and their professionalism. We first met with GRAMEX last summer; but due to the weather work couldn’t begin until January. This worked out well, because our particular siding job included many small details due to the age and historic look of the house. GRAMEX anticipated these and helped us with some complicated design decisions. Despite the winter weather, the job proceeded well. GRAMEX worked through all but the coldest, snowiest days while maintaining consistent fine craftsmanship. The job included a complete tear off of the old siding, which was a messy process. Nonetheless, the crew left the site spotlessly clean at the end of every day. The finished siding looks even better than we hoped! We highly recommend GRAMEX.

This is a delayed review because I like to see results over time with home improvement. Gramex did a great job on the siding, gutter and trim makeover of my house in 2024. They worked with me patiently and respectfully on the design and gave me many options, each with a price broken down into the detailed costs. The workers were very professional, skilled and detail oriented. I even received an unsolicited compliment on their siding work from another home exterior company. They stuck to both the original price and timeline. I am very satisfied with their work and the fact that they stand by it. They promptly came back twice after the job to put finishing touches on a few minor gutter issues.

After meeting with several exterior contractors we decided to go with GRAMEX. We wanted a company that could do everything that we wanted done: roof, gutters, gutter guards, fascia, soffits, James Hardie siding, stone and a new front door. It was a big project and GRAMEX was up to the challenge! We worked closely with GRAMEX staff during the planning process. They provided us with several addresses of homes that they had worked on so we could see them in person. For us, this was extremely helpful. We also were able to see the materials that they would be using at their showroom in Elmhurst. This allowed us to compare and contrast the various options. Due to the scope of the project, installation was a lengthy process. Spring weather also contributed to a couple of delays. GRAMEX. did their best to complete the work in a timely manner. Throughout this project we had the opportunity to work with a group of dedicated professionals, from the owner, Sam to the vice president, Langston to our sales rep, Rob to our project manager, James. It was clear that their priority was that we would be fully satisfied with all the work at the end of the project. The many installers that we got to meet were also experts in their individual fields, taking the necessary time to do each phase of the project carefully and correctly. A plus of GRAMEX is that they hire all their own workers and don’t use sub-contractors. At the end of each day, the workers would clean up our property and store their equipment and materials. This allowed us access to our garage every evening. Now that the project is done, my wife and I couldn’t be more pleased. We love how our house looks and we have received many compliments from neighbors and family members. We fully and without reservation recommend GRAMEX! They are totally worth the time and money!

Great working with their team. Very knowledgable about historic construction restoration. Also very patient with all my questions and concerns. My 100 year old historic home now has better than new structural framing inside my 34" wide soffits. My house has unseen built in, hidden gutters. The old wood was crumbling from decades of gutter leaks. The new Douglas fir bead boards are historically accurate and were installed perfectly. My wood fascia was beautifully wrapped in aluminum that maintains the exact profile of the original painted wood sections. This was a big project spanning 140 linear ft. They also added wooden louver vents above each window. Soon to add the final coat of paint and caulking to finish it off for the next 100 years! The only fault I'll give us that they didn't handle the demolition mess to my satisfaction. But I gladly recommend them.

They made suggestions on materials that would last longer and need less upkeep, and upgraded the structural support. The project was completed early, on budget, and we are delighted with the results. The bid was very competitive, and all of the Gramex staff were professional and easy to deal with. We will be happy to use them again for any future construction projects.

The project was done in one day. The workers pulled out my pavers, cleaned them, put them aside, took out the old sand, put in new sand, reinstalled the pavers and pressure wash them. They look like new. I'm happy with the results.

I’ve hired Great American Exteriors for four projects over the years: new garage construction, roof replacement, car pad rebuild, and full house re-siding. Some of these were major efforts. The fact that I keep going back to them says a lot about my experience. Two things stand out, and they are most important. First: They always deliver to the original estimate. They never play the game of suddenly “discovering” complications mid-project. Their contract cost is gospel. Second: the quality of their finished product is exceptional. The work they did on my aging house (built 1950) has given it a new life. As we close the last project, I’m already talking with them about the next. I’m not taking chances with anyone else.

Sales guy Derek was great, very knowledgeable and quick with being able to provide an in person estimate and as promised they stood by the estimate amount. New wall looks great! Tuck pointing seemed to be a breeze along with new siding. They were hard working, finished on time and aimed to please. Plus they were patient with timing as foundational work needed to be completed first. Only negative feedback was confirmation when they would be showing up. But overall experience was far too great to impact their score. Think a bit more old school sales tactics to paper and pencil estimates. Already have an estimate for future work! Guess who I’ll be calling when I’m ready? Highly recommend!

Great American Exteriors helped us refresh our tired, 55-year old home in several ways. First, they removed an overgrown brick courtyard and replaced it with beautiful, poured and stamped concrete. Now it’s usable and much lower maintenance. Also, they repaired and wrapped our exterior soffits and beams with aluminum, preserving the aesthetic and extending the life of the home. Last, they stained our brick, which truly refreshed the tired look of the house, and provided a natural-looking finish. It’s not painted; so there is still a beautiful variation noticeable between the brick colors. And they delivered on budget and on the exact timeline they promised. Lastly, there are a few punch-list items that remain; I have full faith they will deliver with the same quality and helpful attitude they’ve provided us so far. We are very happy with our choice of partners for this huge (for us) project!

We had a great experience working with GAE to replace some of our windows. The salesman was very thorough, the pricing was fair, and the job was well done. The window installer paid extra attention to not damage any of our new landscape/flowers while installing the windows and that was very appreciated.

We had Porticos built over our front door and bay window. They look great and have improved the curb appeal of our home dramatically. The communication throughout the project was excellent. We had a phenomenal experience. Our front posts/railings were in need of replacement. They were outdated and the wood was rotted. The project started a month earlier than expected and came out spectacular. The front of our house has a completely different appearance and much better curb appeal.

We LOVE our new doors and we got great pricing by signing the day the sales person came in. We had been shopping around for years with competitors and they gave us the best quality for the price. I loved the ability to give them the exact plant color for the doors so it matches our newly painted exterior. The men who installed the doors were very friendly, clean and good with my dog.
