I had the most incredible experience with Submerge during my underwater photoshoot! From the very beginning, they made sure I felt completely safe and informed — walking me through breathing techniques, posing tips, and everything I needed to know as someone who is still new and finding my flippers with underwater photography. They were so patient, supportive, and encouraging, which made the whole session not only comfortable but so much fun. I truly felt cared for the entire time by the whole team. I swam away feeling confident, empowered, and excited — and with some absolutely stunning photos to choose from! If you’re thinking about booking an underwater shoot, I couldn’t recommend Submerge more. They make magic happen!

I've traveled halfway around the world twice and driven 8 hours across California to shoot with the Submerge team. Every time I've worked with them, I felt so taken care of and safe. If you want to do epic things with fun people, Abbey and Justin, have you covered. You will need to clearly communicate what you want from the experience, and they will deliver! On a side note, after you have done one of their underwater modeling workshops you will be hooked, and a normal boring vacation just won’t compare. It’s going to suck!

Sure… there’s lots of photography and travel companies out there. But with Submerge, it is the most unique and immersive experience! I have always felt comfortable in the water but not so much when it came to diving 40+ feet, underwater and modeling. Abbey is an amazing coach that made sure I was hitting all of my marks and Justin‘s personality makes you feel very comfortable knowing that you’re going to get the right shot! I did not have to worry about a single thing the entire trip in Bali and I cannot wait to go on future adventures with them! I have some artwork of myself that I am finally proud to hang in my home!

I recently went on the Bali Seasick/Submerge trip and it was so much more than I ever could have dreamed! From Scuba diving to whitewater rafting to relaxing spa massages to stunning water palaces… it was a trip I’ll never forget! I reunited with old friends from our Maldives trip and met some new ones. It was such a supportive, fun, inspiring group of people! The modeling sessions with Justin and Abbey were, as always, superb. I felt so safe and encouraged to express myself creatively during each session. I always trust that their guidance and expertise will provide me with gorgeous photos, even though my breath hold isn’t very long- it wasn’t an issue. I can’t wait to join another Seasick/Submerge trip!!!

If I could give them more stars I would! The people at Submerge are so down to earth, supportive, and absolutely amazing at what they do! From my first pool shoot, walking in with no experience in front of the camera or underwater, all the way to my most recent trip with them doing scuba assisted modeling in a shipwreck at the bottom of the ocean in Bali, it’s been a dream! A dream that AI just can’t compete with! They focus on safety, creating wonderful photos and making sure you have a great experience. If you ever have the chance to work with them, don’t hesitate! I was excited to book my first professional underwater photoshoot with Submerge while I was visiting SoCal. Justin and Abbey are the underwater dream team that you would hope to work with for your first experience! They made sure to help me understand what I was looking to accomplish in my shoot and captured my ideas perfectly. Abbey was even able to pick out the perfect gown for me from her amazing curated costume collection! They both made me feel safe and comfortable in the water, while directing my poses in an easy to understand way. I feel like anyone, with any level of experience can do an underwater photoshoot with them and get amazing ethereal results! I highly recommend booking a shoot with them if you are visiting the area, it’s such an empowering and unique experience to conquer the element of water under their professional guidance! I will definitely be looking forward to coming back and shooting another idea with them next time I make it to the west coast again!

This is the second time I’ve shot with Submerge. I’m about as novice and inexperienced as they come. Abbey is so patient, kind, and gives really great feedback in the moment. Justin ALWAYS gets usable footage, even if I feel like I look like a train wreck. This time, I had my two kids (6 and 9) jump in to grab some shots… it was pure underwater magic! They both treated my kids so amazingly, that they went home and told their friends that they are professional underwater models!

There really aren't adequate words to describe the experience I had in the Maldives with Submerge. We learned an underwater modeling technique using a SCUBA regulator and a safety diver to allow us to go to greater depths. This resulted in some totally epic shots! I could hardly believe it was me I was seeing in the photos! I remember meeting Justin and Abbey about 15 months prior to this trip, when they encouraged me to get SCUBA certified and told me about their Submerge/Seasick trips and workshops. I thought, "No not me. I could never do that!" And now... I am so glad I did! Not only can I now explore open water as a diver, but I can also confidently strike a pose 30 feet underwater :) I also felt very safe every step of the way during the photoshoots. It's always such a pleasure and an honor to work with Submerge. The team is professional, so kind and patient, and crazy talented. Thank you for everything you do. Keep killing it all over the world! I’ve been following your work and was super excited to be able to get a chance to work with you. Your photos are breathtaking! I loved that you have a tv on the side that showed the pictures you’ve taken so far so that I could see what I needed to work on. When I show people my photos they love the shipwreck background! It’s not to dark that it hides my black locs. I can tell you put a lot of hard work into what you do and it shows. The booking and payment process was easy. I was lucky enough to score a spot with this amazing team at Mermagicon and it was such a fun experience! It was my first ever underwater photo shoot and first time in my large tail.
