I can honestly say I had one of the most amazing trips of a lifetime with Landscape Locations to Slovenia in October 2025. This is a stunningly beautiful country in Autumn. Chris Frost and Julia Martin were our group leaders for the trip and nothing was too much trouble for them in terms of looking after us and making sure our needs were met. They took us to the most stunning landscapes including some ‘hidden gems’ off the beaten path. I have learnt so much on this trip and the help, support and guidance I was given with my photography was second to none. There was also further support with post processing if needed and additional written guidance and useful links sent after the trip. Chris and Julia are extremely easy and fun people to be with which makes for an enjoyable and relaxing experience. They are clearly passionate about their work and genuinely interested in us all as individuals; wanting us to develop our photographic skills if we express a need for that extra support. I also travelled with a great group of people and the fun and companionship made the trip extra special. I will retain so many special memories of this trip not just in my photos but in my heart too!

Just returned from a week in Slovenia with Landscape Locations. Awesome trip with great guides Chris Frost and Julia Martin, who skillfully planned the logistics, gave gentle tips on technique and composition, and were a pleasure to hang with all day in the van and over meals. We had several days of foul weather but we made the best of it. The small group made it possible to pivot quickly and tailor the trip and locations for the guests. Before the trip I was worried about the food as I have a restricted diet, but Chris and Julia always selected restaurants with lots of choices and great Slovenian wines too! I should also mention that pre-trip communication with Melvin was superb. He was always quick to respond and always with thorough answers. I would recommend this trip to anyone looking for a slightly off the beaten path landscape photography experience, and I will definitely look to travel with Landscape Locations again.

Landscape Locations Photography tour - Slovenia Oct 2025 This trip organised by Landscape Locations can only be described as truly awesome. It was a scenic tour of a beautiful country and a photography masterclass inspired by two wonderful instructors in Chris Frost and Julia Martin. Locations were thoroughly researched, planning was meticulous and organisation second to none. The care for each participant, the attention to detail and the desire to ensure everyone learned and gained what they individually wanted from the experience simply leaves you with a heart of gratitude.The whole week can only be described as memorable and inspiring and it's a huge thank-you to Landscape Locations and in particular Chris and Julia.

Five stars are too few! The country, the stunning landscape, the flawless organization by Melvin and the team and last the but not the least, Chris and Julia...our instructors! Patient, knowledgeable, brilliant photographers, perfect blend of artistic and technical skills. Slovenia blew as away and the Landscape Locations team probably already ensured that I will return. We also had a great group of fellow participants but again, the glue were Julia and Chris. Thank you guys!

Slovenia - Jan 2025 with Melvin Nicholson and Chris Frost The Winter in Slovenia workshop was the first landscape workshop I have attended. Our leaders Melvin and Chris ensured we were at the best locations for the light and weather conditions. It's a magical country with stunning photo opportunities and although we didn't have snow in the valleys our 4WD vehicles got us up high in the mountains where we were presented with hidden huts and stunning snowy peaks. Melvin and Chris were like the entertainer and educator they had the group buzzing. It was a great laugh, a scenic tour and a photography masterclass all rolled into one. Chris is running this workshop in future and I can't think of a better person to travel with. Landscape Locations are thorough with their research, planning and organisation so if you’re looking for a full on holiday and photo trip, there's no need to look further. Great memories, thanks to all the group.

Me & my husband attended the Landscape Locations Slovenia Workshop in January/ February 2025. I have to say that it was fantastic. We have previously attended a workshop with Melvin a few years ago and loved that experience & didn’t hesitate too book again with him . On this trip he was assisted by Chris Frost, who was very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable and the dynamics of the two of them worked very well together. They were both lovely guys with a great sense of humour which made the workshop more enjoyable. All the people on the workshop were lovely, friendly people. We had a great time, with lots of laughter and banter and I'm sure like me they have a lot of photos now to go through and also memories that will last a lifetime. I can't recommend them highly enough. We are already looking to book our 3rd adventure with them .

I had the most amazing time on the Slovenia in Autumn workshop! Apart from bringing home some beautiful Atmospheric and Autumnal images, I also returned with many memories of an incredibly happy week of friendship, shared stories, good food and much laughter! What could be better than that?! A big shoutout to Mel and Chris for tirelessly bringing us to the right locations at the right time, and of course, thanks for the safe driving too! I can’t wait to join you on another workshop sometime soon!

Well organised and friendly tour provided by Melvin and Chris. Accommodation was clean and comfortable and driving to all sites easily accommodated. Good introduction to the photo locations that Slovenia has to offer. Would definetly recommend and would go on future trips provided by Landscape Locations.

Slovenia Workshop 14th-20th October 2024 I’ve recently returned from a fantastic photography workshop in Slovenia. This is the first photography workshop that I have ever been on, and it certainly won’t be the last. I chose to go with Melvin, as I found his website to be very easy to navigate, and there was plenty of information that gave me confidence to book with him. I also found that due to the amount of videos he posts on social media, that it gave me a good idea of what type of person he was, and what to expect. From the start of the workshop to the end, I felt that I was in great hands! Melvin and his assistant Chris were superb! They made sure that they got us to as many different locations that they could. They made excellent decisions on where to go based on the weather(which wasn’t great at times). I was particularly impressed with Melvin’s knowledge of the country. Not just for the photography, but for where we were taken for our evening meals each day(the restaurant on the last night was really special). Another thing that I was really impressed with, was the tuition around woodland photography from Chris. Having previously struggled with woodland photography, he made time to ensure that myself and the whole group got the hints and tips they needed to come away with some great shots, and the capability to get more in the future! The fact that we had a really great bunch of clients, as well as Melvin and Chris who were a brilliant laugh and just real decent people to have a conversation with, made the whole workshop that bit better! Thank you Melvin and Chris for showing me this incredible country! I will definitely be visiting again, and will absolutely book another workshop with Landscape Locations in the future!

Great tours - I have now done 4 tours with Melvin and various workshop assistants. (Iceland, Tuscany, Slovenia & Lofoten-Norway) Thanks to Melvin's knowledge of the areas that he does tours he always knows the best place to be in certain weather conditions and if the light is right or not where best to go to photograph. Landscape Locations Photo Tours are highly recommended, trying to do this on your own would probably mean you missed some hidden gems and spent too much time chasing the right light/location etc
