I took lessons with Jeff a while ago. While he was an amazing instructor he is also an amazing person. I was just toying with the idea of learning guitar and he was super patient with me, despite my complete lack of natural skill. Jeff is an awesome instructor! He takes the time to tailor lessons around the student. When I worked with him, I was 37 years old, and it was the first time in my life doing anything musically. He knew I wanted to learn some cool riffs and not be overwhelmed. I took lessons from Jeff for eight years, he is a fantastic guitarist and really great guy! Jeff worked with me through my teen years and helped me develop my own style, from learning songs I was interested in all the way through theory, scales, and advanced practice techniques. I've been taking bass guitar lessons with Jeff for the last 15 months, which is enough time to know that I don't want another instructor. I came in with zero knowledge, and he has been incredibly patient as I've worked my way through the basics. He's really good about cheering on my small victories ("Hey, watch me play this ridiculously easy pattern!"). But I think the thing that's most important to me, as an adult with a career and responsibilities, is that he understands that life sometimes gets in the way of practicing. He doesn't nag me like my childhood piano teacher, yet he does encourage me to work through the inevitable frustrating stretches where I don't see my own progress. Plus he's just a great guy — kind and funny. I highly recommend Jeff.

His insight into my abilities led me to be able to play with the Piedmont Guitar Orchestra as well as a trio. Jeff has an endless amount of patience, demonstrates how something should be played and answers my questions without making me feel stupid.
