I never thought discrimination would happen to me. And when it did, I felt confused about my rights and if I had any ground to stand up against it in the court of law.
After sleepless nights, I found myself researching Washington state pregnancy accommodation laws, maternity leave, nursing/lactation privacy, and FMLA. Thinking I didn’t have a chance, I decided it wouldn’t hurt to have a conversation with Ed about my experience.
I called Ed, had a quick, proactive and painless discussion about my case. Ed was to the point, demonstrated expertise in the field, and knew his place around the legal field, but also knew how to communicate to me when I didn’t understand the legal jargon. And when he said “we have a case”, it was a turning point for me. I sat on it, still scared of the unknown. I felt the easy way would be to maybe walk away, but ultimately decided that I wanted to make a change in the world to combat gender discrimination against working mothers (specifically in the Financial Services Industry). I reviewed how he has helped other employees fight for their rights against unjust treatment. I trusted him, trusted the process, and it worked out in my favor.
Ed fought for me and won the settlement. I couldn’t be more pleased with the outcome.
He is a true advocate for workplace discrimination and I recommend him.
