I don’t know why this place has so many positive reviews. I got my trousers hemmed and it came undone after just wearing it three times. I now came in with trousers which I wanted to alter by putting in a zipper and they could not give me a price but estimated around 30-50 pounds. When I asked what the wholesale price of a zipper would be, they said 30 pounds ((while obviously this costs less than £1 on its own). Would not recommend this place.

Would give this place 0 stars if I could. I felt so uncomfortable changing into my bridal dress in a tiny space crammed in the back of the shop surrounded by clothes & machines. There was a thin curtain separating me from the 3 men working & this made the experience super uncomfortable. The gentleman helping me was nice but didn't offer me a solution to the main issue I have with my bridal dress, saying I needed to go buy fabric elsewhere if I wanted to change the straps. I'm sure they work well with other clothes but I wouldn't recommend for brides.

I had mixed experiences including some good alterations, but I am not impressed with the quality and attention to detail. Their price is okay compared to other london city options. I had a trench coat shortened, but the way it was done meant that wearing it, the back and pleats would not fall correctly with lining being pulled. This was not considered and when I went back the person who saw me could not h destined any English. I was asked to come back, it was my choice to go somewhere else to fix but I’d expect a good quality tailor to consider such details and pay attention to detail. In the past I also had trousers tailored where different colour threads were used to do it. While it was hardly noticeable as it was brown and black, coming twice to fix issues is not an experience I’d expect. Things may have changed but in the past they also did not have a changing room. Trying things on in a room upstairs with windows facing the building next door and no cover in general was also not a nice experience, especially as a female.

Got a pair of jeans taken up and it was done perfectly. Friendly chaps, fast and efficient service. Turnaround time for my jeans was just 1 day. Recommended!

I have NEVER left a bad review until now. This was BY FAR the WORST experience I've ever had. As a young woman, I really didn't expect to be shouted at and shown such aggression, especially by the owner... I am very calm person and I'm still so confused as to why I was treated like this. Don't believe the good reviews, please - this place is SO dodgy and everyone is being ripped off - extortionate pricing and no card payments. I came in to have a dress altered at the waist, so I tried it on in the shop and agreed to where he pinned the seams. However, once I picked the dress up, (and paid £70 for a simple elastic waist alteration, in cash, looking at other reviews, their card machine has been broken for years) I was explicitly told "come back if it is not correct". When I got home and tried it on, the dress confusingly was still way too large/felt exactly the same. It wasn't a huge problem or a priority for me as I didn't need the dress for anything specific. When I had the time, I decided to take the owner up on his offer and come back in to query whether it could be adjusted more. I happily came back with no intention of complaining, I just wanted to ask a simple question. If the owner would have just said 'no, sorry, we can't do anything further', I would have been fine and left. However, I got shouted at, and called a liar. After I visibly got upset over this confusing behaviour, he demanded that I try the dress on and he will measure it again free of charge. It really wasn't about the dress, or the money, it was how I was treated.

Best tailor shop in London! I’ve been here a couple of times to shorten my jacket and dress, and it was done nicely every time. They also helped fix some button falling from another piece of my dress for free. Much appreciated for the help! Worth 5 star and will definitely come back.

Bahram really helped us fix the doll very carefully and we were very astonished by this because he told me he will fix this for free of charge. I needed an urgent repair to a coat with a hole in a pocket. They saw me straight away and repaired my coat on the spot, free of charge. Great service, and very friendly.

Very good and helpful service. Needed sleeves taken up - they measured and did the job with quick turnaround. Make sure to find a door and buzz up.

Dodgy business practice. When dropping off the guy said it was absolutely no problem to take cards. When picking up and paying, “sorry cash only”. For £80 worth or work!! Sorry, but this day and age these shady practices shouldn’t be tolerated.

Complete rip off! I reached out to Bagaram (the tailor) after reading the reviews to lengthen my curtain and fix the edges. He quoted £50 on the phone, which became £80 after I sent the pictures and £90 when I took the heavy curtain to him. Look at the pictures with the final result - he didn’t fix the edges but didn’t bother taking the money for that!

Amazing quality zip replacement with a quick turnaround, highly recommend!

Don’t be fooled by the good reviews, this place is an absolute rip off. I suspect other reviewers don’t know much about tailoring and believe the prices charged by this place to be reasonable. They do a good job but the price is extortionate - I needed two pairs of shorts taken in and was quoted £50 *per pair* plus £40 for a simple patch on another pair. The man working in the shop was also incredibly rude to me when I said I would go elsewhere and threw my items at me. I took them to the wonderful dry cleaners on White’s Row instead and had everything done for £29 all in. Save your money and go there instead!

Since moving to London I have really struggled to find a good tailoring service. Many places have turned me away saying that the project is too challenging. This place has never even questioned it. They listen to exactly what I want and know how to make it happen. Very easy to communicate with and never late on a deadline AND reasonably priced.

Really top service. Quoted me a price and a day when it would be ready. They then completed it on time, did a great job and it took less time than he thought so he knocked £10 off the price! Will be using again if needed!

These guys were really welcoming and helpful with my alteration and super quick too. They did a great job at taking in the waist of my trousers and I was pleased to see they fit like a glove afterwards. They're a bit hard to miss on the street so definitely keep a proper eye out when visiting the atelier for the first door.

Am surprised this place has so many good reviews. We brought a dress and a suit jacket to be altered — When I tried on the dress and the tailor confirmed what can be done, I asked if he was going to pin it. He said ‘no, it’s fine’. When we collected the dress, to no surprise it was too big and I have no time now to bring it to another tailor as this was a wedding guest dress. This should have already been the first red flag. He also kept changing the prices, and he somehow went from £150 to £110, then when my partner collected his items he tried charging us £170?! Tailor was trying to milk us the best he could. We went to other tailors nearby and the price is basically half of what he’s asking. I’ve had loads of clothing altered before and the quality is not great, except for very simple jobs.

Had my blazer altered here, went in originally price was around £50 to have sleeves raised, left store got a call about 30 minutes later saying the price will be more due to it can't be raised from sleeves. Price jumped to "£90 but will discount to £80" anyhow, was already busy by the time the price changed so just went ahead with it. Be wary of the price you are quoted as it may change, also don't read the details on their website, it mentions delivery to your address but when I asked the guy he said they don't deliver, expect to pick it up in a week or so.

I have two traditional Chinese dresses that’s too big around the waist and the material is very tricky and delicate to deal with. The guys here are super helpful and did a great job within 3 days! They now fit perfectly and can’t see a thing that they’ve been altered! Will definitely recommend :)

Very helpful. They sowed a button back on a pair of trousers on the spot and without a rdv. Plus refused to take any payment. Definitely recommend.

I took a delicate chiffon bridal skirt here to have the hem shortened and I was so impressed by the work! It was quite a big job because of all the fabric and its several layers, but the tailor, Bahram, did a great job and made the shortened hem look like the original. He also did it in only a week and for an extremely reasonable price. When I picked it up, he even did a quick unrelated alteration when I realised the skirt was a touch too tight. The location is also convenient, just off the main road in Shoreditch. I'll absolutely be coming back here for any future alterations needs.

This tailor is depressing and hilarious at the same time. He made my pants in reverse skinny up and wide down although he was asked to make them a bit tapered and follow exact measures of a guidline pants given to him. No basics of tailoring. If the man is not a tailor you simply cannot teach him how to be one...

relaxed and very helpful staff. Called up and went round no problems, and I had a tight schedule and they happily accommodated what I needed with a 2 hour turnaround, shortening 3 trousers. Excellent service - highly recommended

My experience using London Tailoring & Alteration was a mixed bag. I had a number of shirts and trousers that I wanted altered so I was bringing a good amount of business to their company. The experience was good when I first went to their establishment, with one of the tailors seeming friendly and knowledgeable. The experience went downhill once I went a second time to pick up my items. The tailors were abrupt, and seemed exasperated that I would want to try on my clothes before accepting that everyone was okay. There was a room upstairs where I tried on a couple of the items but then I was told there was no time and I had to leave. Once I told them a couple of the items still didn't fit, they argued with me saying that this is what we agreed. Who has heard of a tailor that doesn't let you try on altered clothing and provide feedback? Moreover, one of the items had a number of stains which I have found difficult to remove. Apart from that, most of my clothes were tailored to a decent standard and their prices are reasonable. Overall, a mixed bag!

I brought my trousers into the shop yesterday to be altered and I told them I would need them ready by Saturday. They managed to alter my trousers within 24 hours! I picked them up today and they did an AMAZING JOB at such a good price! I will definitely be using them as my tailors from now on! Fab service!

Bahram did an amazing job altering my wedding dress. It was very delicate and needed quite a bit done to fit it to me. Despite needing a few fittings to get it just right, he worked so quickly and for a fantastic price. I was so pleased with my dress that my husband had his suit altered here (beautifully!) as well. I will never go anywhere for alterations again! Could not recommend more!

I found them after another tailor let me down less than a week before my wedding. They took the dress in and assured me they can get it done a day early! And so they did! It looks great and fits perfectly. Very nice gents too - I highly recommend!
