Fascinating Visit – Don’t Skip the Harem! Amazing place – very interesting and full of history. There’s so much to see, and it really gives you a feel for the Ottoman Empire. Definitely worth paying extra to visit the Harem – it was one of the highlights and added a lot more to the experience. A great day out and well worth a visit if you’re in Istanbul.

Topkapi, Harem e Chiesa di Santa Irene Ho visitato il Topkapi tramite visita guidata di “Scoprire Istanbul”. Consiglio la visita con guida per apprezzare al meglio la bellezza di quest’area, meritevole di visita. Il biglietto di ingresso é un po costoso, ma offre un percorso di visita che per noi é durato quasi 4 ore. Consigliato!

Amazing We were not sure what to expect, but it's a massive and amazing palace. Visiting the harem is worth doing. We really enjoyed it.

Ίσως το μοναδικό αξιοθέατο που πραγματικά αξίζει ως μουσείο... Λοιπόν... Είναι ίσως το μοναδικό αξιοθέατο που μου άφησε τόσο καλή εντύπωση στην Κωνσταντινούπολη... Περιποιημένο, με πάρκο, οργανωμένο με τα ακουστικά σου να σου εξηγούν ότι θέλεις... Ακριβό εισητηριο, τα έχουμε ξανά πει, θες πλέον καλό μπάτζετ για να πας στη πόλη... 50€ περίπου το άτομο... Με ο εισητηριο πριν περάσεις την πύλη δεξιά υπάρχει ένα κισε όπου αφήνεις διαβατήριο κ παίρνεις τα ακουστικά σου... Οι χώροι του μουσειου είναι λίγο δαιδαλώδεις, κ δεν υπάρχουν κ πολλά σημεία να ξεκουραστείς, δεδομένου ότι χρειάζεται σίγουρα δύο ώρες για να τα δεις... Τα πιο πολλά εκθέματα αφορούν τους μουσουλμάνους πάσαδες και την ιστορια του ανακτόρου.. Τοπική ιστορία εκτεθειμένη εξαιρετικά... Υπάρχει μια εκκλησία εντός του εισητηριου κ του χώρου του μουσείου η οποία δεν είναι και πολύ περιποιημένη, πρέπει να το πούμε... Υπάρχουν χωρίς στο πίσω μέρος του μουσειου (μπαλκόνια) όπου μπορείτε να βγάλετε εξαιρετικές φωτογραφίες με φόντο τον Βόσπορο και το πύργο του γάλατα...

Meraviglioso! Il Palazzo di Topkapi va assolutamente visitato! Si tratta di un grande complesso che annovera al suo interno diversi edifici intervallati da grandi giardini, più una zona separata che ospita l'Harem. L'Harem è certamente la visita più suggestiva, anche per merito di una audioguida veramente ben realizzata; ma in generale tutto il Palazzo è curato molto bene e nel corso delle diverse ore che vi passerete all'interno (diciamo circa 4 per fare un giro abbastanza completo) godrete della vista di collezioni molto interessanti. A parte quella sui "tesori" religiosi: è veramente pietosa e se ne può fare tranquillamente a meno.

Impressive Incredible beauty. Views. Collection of objects. Gardens. I did not want to leave. I was there in January and lines were extremely long. Way too crowded. But I still was amazed

Imperdibile Come la Basilica Cisterna, anche il Palazzo Topkapi rappresenta una tappa imperdibile di ogni viaggio a Istanbul. Il palazzo è enorme e richiede una intera mattinata per la visita. Bellissimi scorci architettonici, reperti preziosi e anche affacci sul Bosforo rendono questa visita unica. Nonostante lo avessi già visto un paio di anni fa, e il biglietto non fosse proprio economico (30 euro comprensivi di audioguida e di visita a tutto il complesso dell'harem), l'occasione di un viaggio in famiglia ad Istanbul mi ha permesso di godere di nuovo di questa meraviglia.

Impressive We’d heard that this fantastic complex had been the hub and administrative base of the Ottoman Empire for four centuries from mid C15 to mid C19 as well as being the residents of most of the Sultans. No disappoints inside. The elaborate decor fits well with the scale. Recommended.

Loved it! We visited Topkapi Palace as part of a guided tour included in the Istanbul MegaPass. This meant we had queue jump, although to be fair we arrived late afternoon and there was no queue anyway.The actual palace grounds are huge. There are two very large courtyards, both kept in good condition. There are also a couple of viewing points at the very rear of the palace, I think one was called “Baghdad Pavillion”. I would recommend exploring these as they offer wonderful views across the Bosphorus - a great spot for photos. My favourite part of Topkapi Palace was definitely the Harem. Learning about the old residence of the Sultan was fascinating, and there were written plaques in almost every room explaining the purpose of each room. The Harem has been preserved in exquisite condition, but takes some time to get around. I would leave at least 45 minutes / 1 hour just to explore the Harem.Overall, Topkapi Palace was my favourite of the large tourist attractions in Istanbul. I would definitely recommend a visit.
