Grateful for Dr. Kamen's extraordinary breadth and depth of knowledge. He has made what seems like difficult problems into easy fixes, with his years of experience, acumen and the fact that he lets you take part in the examination, that is, explains the condition while in process of the exam. This I find extremely helpful. He has reduced into everyday eyecare, with what seemed overwhelming previously. He does not miss a thing. His standard and level of eyecare, I've never come across before. A true professional and brilliant, as he offers choices, and security and well being. I trust him completely, and would feel find recommending him to anyone of any age.

If I could give Dr. Kamen more than a 5, I would. I was in Los Anegles for meetings when my eye lid began to swell. I called Dr. Kamen's office and his wonderful receptionist, Abby, squeezed me in for an appointment. I fully expected the Dr. to move me along quickly given I was squeezed in. Boy was I wrong! He took his time, explained what was going on, and even performed the procedure while I was there (an 1-hour of his time). He is such a professional and so kind. I'm going to fly to LA to see him every year. The guy (and his staff) are simply amazing!

Amazing experience from start to finish. Scheduling was easy - I called on Monday and got in on Wednesday. The front desk woman was very pleasant and I was called back to see the Dr. right on time. Dr. Kamen has excellent bedside manner. He took his time to do a thorough exam, explained my options for the treatments I needed and performed the two procedures effortlessly. It was my first time visiting Dr. Kamen's office to remove my stye. The staff were very friendly, the office was clean and neat. Dr. Kamen was very professional and friendly and I see his passion from his eyes. I felt very comfortable while he was doing my surgery. It is difficult to adequately express the gratitude that I feel toward Dr. Kamen, Linda and the rest of his staff. Dr. Kamen removed a stye I had. It is not a comfortable procedure whatsoever, but he did an excellent job and helped keep me calm. The front desk staff was also very polite. He was able to squeeze her in, charged a reasonable consultation fee, diagnosed her, and took the time explaining her condition to her in Spanish. I visited Dr. Kamen because my long-time optometrist was worried that my eyes were damaged from 50 years of wearing contact lenses. My examination with Dr. Kamen confirmed that my eyesight had deteriorated so much that I could not even pass the eye exam needed to renew my driver's license, even when wearing glasses. Dr. Kamen recommended ICL surgery, which is a surgically implanted contact lens. It is a better alternative than LASIK for patients with dry eyes. The surgery was performed at a local surgery center in Beverly Hills. It is a wonderful facility with very friendly nurses and well-organized staff. As a very cautious surgeon, Dr. Kamen does one eye at a time, three weeks apart. The procedure is painless and took about 20 minutes. The surgery was a resounding success. I have had 20/20 vision within a few days after the surgery, with only one day of recovery time needed. It is a great joy to have perfect vision without the hassle of glasses or contacts. Truly a medical miracle! I would also like to add that Dr. Kamen, in addition to being a brilliant surgeon, is a kind man with a great sense of humor. His friendly staff is wonderful. The paperwork is always in order. Prescriptions are always ready and waiting for me at my local pharmacy by the time I get home from my appointments. And they always call and text to remind me of appointments. This was truly an amazing experience!

I am so grateful to Dr. Kamen and his office for helping me with an urgent appointment. I had an issue that had become urgent and learned my regular ophthalmologist is out for 6 months. I can't speak highly enough about Dr. Kamen & Linda (and staff that run the front office). He is extremely thorough, kind & patient! I have been having some eye issues that came about suddenly, and when I called Beverly Hills Eye Center (Dr. Kamen came very highly referred), I was met with empathy and a genuine desire to get me in and my vision tended to, to make sure I am good. My visit was no different. Linda and the rest of the front office staff were patient, but quick to help me get my paperwork filled out and back to to see Dr. Kamen. The examination with Dr. Kamen was not only thorough, but his kindness and bedside manner is second to none! Truly a gentleman! The exam covered (what I felt like was) every base possible to check and confirm my vision and eye corrections, as well as advice on how to proceed with my eye care, in a way that best suits my eyes. Dr. Kamen even explained to me why now is not the right time for me to get laser surgery to correct my eyes, but to wait another several years (till my vision corrects further) and then he can help me explore alternative and less invasive options. Beverly Hills Eye Center is undoubtedly now, where I will go for ALL future eye care and where I STRONGLY suggest for anyone reading this to go as well!!

A lot has changed within the past three years but the Dr. Kamen's professionalism, expertise, and willingness to answer our million questions has remained the same. The only snag we hit with their office was a miscommunication about an authorization but the incredible staff fixed. Dr. Kamen and his staff are absolute gems.

Six years ago I developed shingles in one of my eyes without knowing what it was, so the pain was so intense that I did not sleep at all and one night, desperate for the pain, I sat down at the computer to look for any eye specialist to study My case. My mom needed help with her eye problem. She used to go to a Dr. somewhere in K-town but they didn't care at all. I decided to search Yelp and look for a new ophthalmologist. Dr. David Kamen performed cataract eye surgery in both of my eyes. Dr. Kamen and his staff thoroughly and expertly prepped me for the surgery and made me feel comfortable and secure. Staff is helpful and kind, and the environment is welcoming with plants and friendly faces. Water and a snack was offered as I waited. The Doctor is very skilled and asks a lot of questions to get a good picture of how your health is. I will definitely be coming back for my annual check ups and any emergencies like today!

I would not go to any other eye dr. I've been to other eye doctors and Dr Kamen is so helpful and knowledgeable. His staff is also so helpful and courteous and accommodating. I've had issues with dry eyes for years and Dr. Kamen is the first doctor that got to the bottom of it. He came up with a treatment plan that actually works and I've literally never had issues since I've been doing what he suggested. You won't regret coming to him.

I have been going to Dr. Kamen for about six months now. He is one of the most caring and patient doctors I have ever worked with. I was referred by my neurologist to help keep an eye on my optic nerve, and he took the time to review all my past MRI tests and research the diagnoses from those tests on his own time. He put together an action plan based on his expertise and his research, and he really took the time to connect the dots for all aspects of my health, including my anxiety. Dr. Kamen's holistic approach, kind demeanor, and great follow up really ensured I received the best care. On top of that, his office staff is incredibly wonderful to work with! They are super nice, and they are always accommodating with my schedule. I've had to call to reschedule multiple appointments and they are always able to get me in whenever I've needed. Even when I was 20-30min late to an appointment, they were able to find a way to fit me in and were very helpful in doing so. Dr. Kamen is a great doctor. You can definitely tell that he cares. I came to him for a second opinion about something and he took more time and effort than my regular eye doctor. Very professional and friendly staff. What I really appreciated was the staff's willingness and ability to get me into the office the next day after I called in telling them I was seeing flashes of light (side note: Run to an optometrist/ophthalmologist if this is happening just to be safe). Dr. Kamen is a top-notch eye doctor who's caring and easy to talk to. He performed an efficient, thorough eye exam and luckily my eyes are fine! I also really appreciated his willingness to listen to other symptoms I was experiencing that didn't directly correlate with my eyes, but may impact them. I first met with Dr. Kamen in May 2015, when he successfully performed my (75-year-old) brother-in-law's cataract surgery. My brother-in-law was very pleased with the outcome of the procedure. The past couple of years I have started to see four (4) opthalmologists, specialized in cataract, glaucoma, and retina, to check the blurriness I had been experiencing. All the offices of these specialists were close to where I live, which is in Walnut. There seemed to be just a lot of testings and observations, as well as prescribing different drops, but there was no improvement. Then, I remembered Dr. Kamen and decided to drive about 40 miles from home to get his expert opinion. It was a no-nonsense visit because he confirmed the cataract in both my eyes were causing the blurriness and suggested to remove them to improve my vision. Furthermore, he was able to put the "plug," in both my eyes to remedy the dryness. The other ophthalmologist who I have been seeing, although gave the option to put "plug," but was not sure if my insurance covers it (I questioned that because I always deal with medical professionals, and they normally are the ones who knows or justifies such with the insurance company.) To think that I had been going to there since October 2018 and could not justify the need for a "plug" with my health insurance. This further demonstrates Dr. Kamen's knowledge and experience in this area, as well as the process. Another thing I appreciated of Dr. Kamen was his consideration and understanding. Knowing the distance we had to travel, he squeezed in his busy schedule to see my husband who was recommended for cataract examination by his optometrist. There was no wasted time, we were both scheduled for cataract surgeries in August 2020 for the right eye, and then the other eye was scheduled in September 2020. Both my eyes and my husband's have improved. Dr. Kamen did not disappoint. Once again, thank you Dr. Kamen for taking care of us and for making us feel at home and assured with the decision we made. Your professionalism, confidence, responsiveness, easy-going and trustworthy personality, and your warm staff made this experience stress-free. Well done and God bless you in helping people! Dr. Kamen is outstanding! He is very knowledgeable and a very nice person. Everyone in the office is both friendly and professional. Dr. Kamen has provided me with eye health examinations and eyeglass prescriptions for a couple of years. Within the last year he has performed cataract surgery on both eyes with great success. I was given options regarding the details of the cataract surgery and am delighted with the results. I will continue to depend upon the Beverly Hills Eye Center (Dr. Kamen) for continued eye care. BTW: There is parking behind the Beverly Hills Eye Center building. Go to the rear of the building via the rear alley south of Gregory Way.

Dr Kamen is fantastic! He is the most knowledgeable eye doctor I have ever seen. I have super dry eyes, and he has continuously come up with solutions for me. He introduced me to duct plugs and always shares samples of new eye drops for dry eyes, including introducing me to gel eye drops. He also just told me about a couple of stem cell options to help heal the eyes and increase moisture. He seems to always be in the know about new options, where other doctors tend to stick to what they know and feel comfortable with. I have been highly impressed with him and his staff.

Dr. Kamen is not only an excellent eye doctor - he's also a terrific communicator. I recently transferred my father's eye care to him with great results. I appreciated his straight talk and clear approach. Not only did he make sure to extract all the pertinent background history and explain his methodology, he made sure to include my father and his daily caregiver in the conversation. This is a small gesture but it means a lot. My father has mild dementia with multiple health issues and - since my mother died - I have to be highly involved with his many doctors and therapists, on his behalf. Often times, doctors make zero eye contact with my father and direct their entire line of questioning and subsequent plan of action to me. I understand the need, to a certain degree, to save time and ensure clarity of information. That's why I show up with the details. However, it's still important to treat geriatric patients with respect and at least marginally included them in the discussion. Dr. Kamen did this naturally, deftly and with empathy. He also changed the complicated, unnecessary, incredibly expensive plan of care his previous eye doctor in Toluca Lake had insisted upon. I highly recommend this doctor and his practice. His office staff are all lovely and top notch as well. Thank you all!

DrKamen rescued me when i was having a horrible issue with my eye. He was even available to speak on the phone after my appointment to make sure that everything was ok and that I recovered as planned. I wish all my doctors could be like this! I came to Dr. Kamen after finding him here on Yelp. My insurance doesn't cover ophthalmologists and I'm honestly glad it doesn't or I would have never found this place! My first appointment 2 weeks ago I did have a long wait time however don't let that deter you. Clearly he's the doctor to see and people trust him and he doesn't rush his patients. Plus I was glad to have them squeeze me in on a very busy day. It was worth the wait!! My second appointment today I was seen much quicker. I had never been to an eye doctor before and was very nervous. Both times I needed a cortisone injection in my eyelid. Dr. Kamen put me at ease immediately. He's super knowledgeable and calm and patient and has a sense of humor and is the only person I would trust with this. Having to come in again today for another injection knowing that it would be pretty painful was so much easier knowing I was in the best hands. I've never felt so good about paying out of pocket for medical services. Can't recommend this place and Dr. Kamen enough! Thank you Dr. Kamen for helping me and being so patient with me, especially while psyching myself up for the injections! Dr Kamen is the best! I was referred to him by one of my good friends and I was truly impressed by his attention to detail and every aspect of his work. I had a terrible experience previously with cataract surgery on one eye, done by a different doctor, however Dr Kamen worked relentlessly to try to save as much of my sight as possible. The staff was very professional and gave the impression they sincerely care about their patients. My consultation Dr. Kamen was also great. He was patient, thorough, never made me feel rushed, and also made me feel like he really cares about his patients. I was very pleased with my experience with this office and Dr. Kamen.

I don't typically write reviews but since I had such a great experience here I thought I'd share my opinion. They were able to get me in very last minute. The staff is very nice and Dr Karen is great. I've never been to an eye doctor prior and he helped me through my anxiousness. After my visit, I had some concerns about my eye and tried calling on a holiday. Dr Kamen called me back within a few hours on the holiday which was very thoughtful. I highly recommend this place.

I was diagnosed with ocular hypertension when I had first visited his office, following up 3 months later, my ocular pressure went back down to normal. Dr Kamen directed me with very detailed information on how to care for my eyes, to make sure they improve without surgery or any permanent alternatives just yet. Within 3 months my ocular pressure is back to normal! Great thanks to Dr Kamen who genuinely treats his patients with utmost care and professionalism. He is the most knowledgeable opthamologist and really takes his patients seriously, so please be patient when it comes to the wait time because he spends as much time with you and all of his patients as needed, never rushed. It is also always a great experience here because the receptionists are the sweetest ladies ever!! Highly recommend to anyone thats needs quality eye care.

Great and kind people in this office. I had a stye and they gave me a cream first that reduced the redness. I came back in two weeks and they injected my stye with an antibiotic. There was a little swelling but it healed in a couple of days and my stye was gone completely. There is a small and not noticeable scar but that will heal over time. Everyone in the office and Dr. Kamen were kind, patient and answered all my questions. Overall, I had a great experience and they worked with my insurance provider. Consider them for your eye needs!!!

Came to Dr. Kamen for cataract surgery, who did a great job. My previous surgery was at a hospital, which was not nearly as clean and efficient as the surgical center, which made for a more pleasant experience so when presented with the option for a hospital or surgical center I would opt for the latter.

I have been coming to Dr. Kamen's office for a couple of years now for myself and my mother who is a senior. He is very knowledgable and caring. He carefully listens to you and your concerns and checks everything. His bedside manners is excellent. They recently moved to a Natalie and Linda truly go above and beyond for HMO. And they're so nice.

I had an extremely severe case of cataracts in both eyes that left me nearly blind and I was fortunate enough to find Dr. David Kamen. Not only did he do a great job on my eyes by removing the cataracts and restoring my eyesight, but his office staff was also tremendous. I am an HMO patient, which everyone knows requires extra bureaucracy and red tape in order to receive specialized care, and Dr. Kamen's office staff was able to successfully help me through the process. Natalie not only helped getting the proper authorizations, but she did it with extreme kindness, patience, reassurance, friendliness, and efficiency. Linda was equal to Natalie in all those qualities and helped with surgery scheduling and details such as pre and post care information. I would highly recommend Dr. Kamen and his office staff for anyone seeking expert eye care.

Id give him a 10 if this would allow me. Dr kamen has been my dr for years now and has been treating me for any type of eye issue i have had and I'm very happy. Hes caring, gentle, very professional, extremely knowledgeable and so much more. He performed cataract surgery on my eye and it came out perfect. Not to mention whenever i have an issue they get me in right away. I'm seeing 20/20 !!! Its a miracle when before i could hardly see from that eye. The staff rocks always listen to any of my concerns with patience. That's a huge help when most drs would just be irritated but they have never treated me in any negative way. Highly recommended!!!!!

Wonderful doctor and amazing staff. I've been back 3 times and each time I am always greeted by the kindest staff and Dr.Kamen is so knowledgeable. I had to get a shot near my eye and I was so nervous about it, but the entire staff helped calm me down and Dr.Kamen was very patient with me. I can not recommend them enough!

Dr.David Kamen is the best! My grandmother had to go to three different places for surgery in Italy and in the US and she still couldn't see from her left eye for more than 30 years. After having procedures here at Beverly Hills Eye Center with Dr.David Kamen she was healed! She now can see perfectly with her left eye. 11/10 would recommend!!!

Great office, and very friendly staff! Dr. Kamen is very kind and thoroughly explains what he is looking for during the visit. Reasonable fees and willing to work with your insurance/co pay. They were able to fit me in for an appointment 3 days in advance which is very convenient. Good office location also with ample parking around and quick wait time for the visits as well. Would definitely reccomend to friends/family.

I have been a patient of dr Kamen for over 2 years. He performed 2 cataract surgeries that I needed and they went very well. He also followed up on my retina surgery and followed my retina issues. He checks me regularly for any other vision issues and updates my glass RX as needed. He is very caring, takes the time to treat me with patience. And has a very gentle and caring attitude towards me. His office staff is terrific, making it issue to schedule appointments, get HMO approvals properly which is hard to find. His staff does their best to ensure that his office runs on time so they don't keep you waiting.

Dr. Kamen is absolutely the best, most qualified, kind eye doctor I've ever seen. His office staff is lovely as well. I was visiting from out of town and had an emergency eye issue to deal with. I called and spoke with the scheduler and she told me the doctor was booked solid but that she would squeeze me in. I went at the specified time and only after a short time I was in the examining room. Dr. Kamen came in and after two minutes precisely diagnosed my issue which was had been misdiagnosed by my own eye doctor for over two months. He explained very clearly what the issue was and that I needed surgery to correct the problem. If he had not correctly diagnosed my issue I would have continued to have chronic eye issues indefinitely and even a permanently scratched cornea. I would tell anyone who is in need of a brilliant ophthalmologist to go see Dr. Kamen.

Dr Kamen, and the entire office staff are not only very professional, they are, in a word, kind. Today I was late for my appointment and when I called they couldn't have been nicer or more understanding. When I arrived they were so friendly. When I was with Dr. Kamen he spent an extra long time with me addressing all my concerns and more. He is so knowledgeable, so patient and simply the best eye doctor I have encountered. Wonderful doctor wonderful office and secretary. We went in for laser surgery for mainly aggressive cataract and retinal. We drive all the way from Irvine! My husbands in his 70's with many many health issues and he is picky with his doctors. We used to live in Sherman Oaks and stuck with our doctors there. Very pleasant experience, Dr Kamen is gentle patient and not at all rushed us. He spoke to us before surgery and patiently went over everything. Anytime I need to change appointments they are always accommodating. I saw someone put a bad review literally everything they said was the opposite. It's sad when people do this to fine institutions. I would highly recommend this place also the new office is very nice.

The best. I had cataract surgery with Dr. Kamen this past June. I could not ask for better professional or personal treatment. The Doctor is thorough, patient, and an excellent explainer of the cataract procedure, its options and the "what to watch out for". Two days after the operation, the Doctor removed my eye patch to reveal a world I had never seen -- something close to 20/40 vision. And then there is Dr. Kamen's staff. Aside from providing excellent in house service, they went far beyond the call of duty in straightening out the mess that was my Health Insurer's incredible string of screw ups (computer generated denials of service). Booked on ZocDoc when I woke up in the morning with a red, swollen, dry eye after getting soap in my eye the night before. I was convinced I had an infection. Dr. Kamen thoroughly examined both eyes for infection and scratches, their pressure, and my vision. I had no infection, just very dry, irritated eyes. He pointed out that my eyes were extremely dry and recommended a procedure that took 2 minutes and will hopefully be helpful quickly. The front desk was very friendly and helpful and checked me in quickly and already had my insurance info ready to go when I finished my paperwork. Highly recommend! Don't forget it's cash or check only!

Dr Kamen is the best! From the moment I stepped into his office I knew I was in good hands. The staff at the front desk couldn't be nicer and more helpful. I went to see Dr.Kamen for the first time to have a check up and eye exam, and I'm really glad I did. Dr. Kamen is very knowledgeable and answered all my questions in detail. I usually really don't like doctor visits and get nervous, but I have to say I even enjoyed it this time.

From Zocdoc to the appointment, I was treated quickly and effectively by the staff at David Kamen MD. They completely understood my insurance information and didn't make me jump through any hoops. I was seen quickly too. Even though my appointment wasn't too serious. Dr. Kamen still have me a full check up to make sure that my eyes were tip-top. I came in because something was stuck in my eye and will be coming back for regular checkups following this stellar visit.

Dr. Kamen and his office staff are nice and friendly. I had a procedure done to open the closed tear ducts. Before the procedure I was anxious, however, Dr. Kamen was amazing! The whole procedure took around five minutes! It was easier than putting on contact lenses! I highly recommend Dr. Kamen.

I needed long overdue surgery complicated by earlier Lasik by another doctor. Dr. Kamen was recommended to me by my optometrist. Dr. Kamen explained the procedure to me, gave me options, and had a confident but gentle demeanor. Most importantly, after he performed the surgery, my vision is better than ever. Also Natalie at the desk deserves mention for great customer service.

I've seen Dr Kamen as my eye doctor for at least 8 years. He has a gentle touch and is calm and careful. He even does your eyeglass prescription himself which is unusual for an ophthalmologist. But even if he didn't his kind manner and soft touch near the eyes makes you feel comfortable with him. My family sees him as well. His wife is the office manager and very helpful and they have a friendly receptionist as well. I recommend him.

I found Dr. Kamen on ZocDoc and I'm so happy. He is so dedicated to his job. I was supposed to be the last patient of the day, but someone came in as a walk-in and he saw the guy! I've never seen a doctor do that. He really cares about his patients. The staff is also great. Natalie is so friendly! I feel super welcomed and taken care of there!

This review is long overdue, but I went to see Dr. Kamen a few months ago after suffering for a few weeks with extremely itchy watery eyes. I had seen an allergist who just said it was weather related allergies and prescribed me flonase. Weird since I was really hoping for something for my eyes but she said it would eventually help clear my itchy eyes too. I called Dr. Kamen's office because I just couldn't stand it anymore. It literally impacted me night and day and I just couldn't see. At night, my eyes would be so itchy that I would scratch them in my sleep and then they would be stuck shut. I got a same-day, pretty much emergency appt which I'm so thankful for... turns out I had eczema! Dr. Kamen prescribed me an ointment and I literally felt relief in 6 hours. I couldn't believe it; and I couldn't believe I would have continued to suffer if I didn't see him. Both his front office staff (Natalie and Linda) are so helpful, funny, and kind. I had a follow-up appt and had to bring in my 2 month-old, and they were so sweet with him.

The staff here is WONDERFUL (especially Natalie), super friendly and helpful and made it easy to make an appointment. The appointment itself was quick (yet still very thorough) and I was seen within 10 min of my appointment time. Dr. Kamen was very nice and thorough and seemed quite knowledgeable. Also parking down the street under tennis courts is free which is convenient because sometimes office buildings charge a lot for parking. All in all super easy and will definitely be back. Highly recommended!!!!!
