I came to make friends, instead I found a family.

Hello, I serve as the Northeast Regional Manager for the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association (BGEA) Prayer Line. On Sunday, February 1, 2026, the LORD opened a door to come with 2 others saints in BGEA to share about our prayer line and speak about intimacy with Jesus. We were extremely blessed of the love, depth of the saints in the fellowship. Pastor Richie's focus is to see the fellowship be a Jesus church, which is a house of prayer. At the end of the service, we broke up into smaller groups to pray. The group the LORD placed me was mostly very young saints repenting, weeping for the salvation of their friends, classmates, family, Brooklyn! Walking into this church feels like coming home. The beautiful diversity of the community shows how people from all walks of life can worship together in faith and love. The warmth, acceptance, and genuine care make everyone feel like family. The pastor’s anointed preaching speaks to the heart and uplifts the spirit. Truly a place where faith, family, and belonging come together.

Excellent church. Healthy, well balanced, Grace filled church. Solid systematic teaching from the word of God. Loving, nuturing environment where you can grow and serve in the body of Christ.

The people in this church are real. They are not phony. They are always willing to pray with you, including Pastor Richie. One time I was very upset about something. The pastor's wife came with food, a smile, prayer and encouraging words. The weekday meetings are in people's homes. Some are on Zoom.I understand the Bible better as a result of the sermons and bible studies.The church has a very welcoming and encouraging atmosphere for people of all ages. / I'd like to add to this review. We are learning that it's important to desire God more than anything. Also, that we are saved to serve. Jesus came here to serve and not to be served. We have many opportunities to serve. Talking with residents in a nursing home, reaching out to homeless people on a park bench, assisting at the children's church... Calvary Life is multi-generational and multi-cultural.

This community has blessed me so much! CL Brooklyn has helped me grow in Christ through verse-by-verse Bible teaching, fellowship, and so many opportunities to serve my brothers and sisters in Christ. I’ve learned so much since I started attending this church.

What a wonderful place to worship The Lord and to dig deep into His Word. The people who attend are super friendly and you can tell how much they love Jesus and each other.

I’ve visited this church a few times, and although its not my home church, it’s truly a wonderful place of fellowship. What stands out most is the raw and honest teaching of biblical doctrine—straight from Scripture and without compromise. That kind of truth is rare these days, and it’s something I deeply value and respect about this church. The only area I feel could be strengthened is the worship. There is a worship team, but it doesn’t seem consistent—some services may have a couple of instruments, while others are just acapella. Because of that, it can be a little harder to engage fully. That said, I know worship is such a powerful tool that God uses to prepare hearts and draw people closer to Him. I truly believe that if this church invested more into its worship ministry, it could reach even more people—especially Gen Z and the younger generations who often connect through music. The foundation here is already so strong with sound preaching and genuine fellowship; adding a thriving worship experience would only elevate the impact God is already making through this church.

Every service is rooted in Scripture—purely the Word of God with no fluff, opinions, or “feel good” fillers. Pastor Richie is deeply committed to teaching the Bible as God intended it, and if you’re seeking sound doctrine and biblical truth, this is the place. What’s even more special is the sense of family I’ve found here. The fellowship is genuine, and the fruit of the Spirit is so evident in this church body. My husband and I were married this past July, and while marriage wasn’t even on our radar when we first started attending, after just six months God began preparing our hearts. Pastor Richie and his wife Sarah walked alongside us with such love and wisdom, guiding us through discipleship and making sure we entered marriage with the right foundation and intentions. I am so grateful for how they helped me confront and heal areas within myself before saying “I do.” Most of all, I thank God for leading me here—it has truly been life-changing.
