I am a 68-year-old woman who has lived with MS for 42 years, and for much of my life I have worked with alternative care doctors. In my 20s, I suffered from multiple, severe exacerbations, and my prognosis was bleak. The medications I was prescribed left me feeling weak and offered little relief. When I lost my vision for several weeks, I knew I had to find a different path—one that would allow me to take my life back.
That journey led me to alternative medicine. Supplements became a significant part of my life and ultimately changed everything for the better. MS didn’t go away, but my exacerbations became less severe and far less frequent. Because of this approach, I was fortunate to live a full and meaningful life despite this horrific disease.
Fast forward to five years ago, when I was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer. All of my supplements were taken away and replaced with cancer medications. Gradually, the strong and healthy body I had worked so hard to maintain began to deteriorate. Once again, I knew I needed to take control. I was torn—afraid to reintroduce supplements for fear they might fuel cancer cells, yet equally afraid of not giving my body the support it needed to feel whole again.
Then came Dr. Amanda Scott.
Her knowledge, enthusiasm, and exceptional bedside manner gave me the confidence and reassurance I desperately needed. Through thorough bloodwork and thoughtful, ongoing conversations, we carefully began reintroducing supplements into my life. But Dr. Scott’s care didn’t stop there. She has guided me in nutrition and exercise and, most importantly, holds me accountable in the most supportive way.
I know this is an ongoing battle. But I also know that with Dr. Scott by my side, it is a battle I will win. I feel stronger, have more energy and I am much happier because of you. Thank you, Dr. Scott, for making every day brighter. 💕
