Seafood in Magical Le Panier
I had a great experience at this little spot, located on one of the steep, skinny streets of gloriously crumbling Le Panier. It occupies 2 time worn, down-at-heel looking premises, both little bigger than a single garage. Interior seating looked characterful and cosy, but the balmy evening allowed for al fresco dining on one of a handful of street side tables. Given the unassuming, graffiti strewn surrounds, I had walked on by, but keen to spend an evening in this atmospheric and most ancient district, had a cheeky google of Entre Terre et Mer once out of sight. Seeing the great reviews and appealing menu, I turned back. The restaurant specialises in seafood - platters of oysters, prawns, clams, whelks, crab etc, in addition to charcuterie and cheese boards. All dishes are uncooked. Presentation was superb, the towers of iced crustaceans eliciting envious looks from passers by. Everything was fresh and delicious, wines good too, the whites beautifully chilled. Service was great - my cool guy server polished, friendly…..and handsome enough to be forgiven for his nonchalant, mid service fag breaks!
