Took a private tour with Sgurr Tours and it was fantastic. Communication was good when we were planning even with a six hour difference. Ryan was super easy to talk to and had his stops planned based on what we wanted to see. He was on time when he picked us up and had us back to our ships dock in plenty of time without shorting us on the tour. His van looked like it had just come off of the showroom floor equipped with water and snacks for us to enjoy. He even taught us a little bit of Irish! Highly recommend Ryan and his crew for a tour that you won’t soon forget. Thanks Ryan!

We did a one-day tour from Inverness to Isle of Skye (and back) with Gavin. He was outstanding. Very friendly and informative. Lots of local knowledge and suggestions. The owner, Ryan, was very easy to communicate with. All-in-all, very professional and enjoyable. We couldn't have asked for more.

Sgùrr tours with Ryan was the best way to experience the highlands and Isle of Skye we could have imagined! He kept us entertained from the moment we stepped into the van. My personal favorite was listening to his knowledge of history and my wife’s favorite was understanding his knowledge of how the Galic language works. This more personalized tour I would always pick before a big bus tour. He did a great job of implementing stops as needed for breaks. Thank you so much for an amazing day, Sgùrr!

We had the pleasure of taking two private tours with Ryan from Sgurr Tours, and both were absolutely outstanding from start to finish. Our first day was a beautiful journey through Scottish history — with visits to Culloden Battlefield, the atmospheric Clava Cairns, and the enchanting Cawdor Castle. Ryan’s storytelling and deep knowledge of the history brought every location to life. He even arranged a cozy Sunday roast at a charming local tavern, making the experience feel incredibly personal and authentic. The second tour took us to the breathtaking Isle of Skye, and it was truly a day to remember. Ryan was flexible, accommodating, and fun, adjusting the pace and stops to match our interests. From grabbing wood-fired pizza for lunch to pausing for coffee and pastries at a local café before the scenic drive, every detail felt thoughtfully curated. The entire day was seamless, relaxing, and full of beauty. Ryan truly went above and beyond what you'd expect from a typical guide. He made us feel like welcomed guests rather than just clients, and his passion for Scotland is contagious. If you’re looking for a bespoke, high-quality experience with a knowledgeable and personable guide, look no further than Sgurr Tours and Ryan. We would book with them again in a heartbeat!

I highly recommend anyone traveling to the Highlands to book a tour with Sgurr! Ryan hosted our group of 6 for a private tour of the Isle of Skye leaving from Inverness. Everyone had a great time and it was a true highlight of our time in Scotland. Our group ranged in age from 9 to 67 and the tour was thoroughly enjoyed by all. Ryan’s van was very comfortable and he knew all the good spots to stop for great views. Having Ryan as a guide allowed us to make the most of our day in a way that wouldn’t have been possible venturing out on our own. He is also very knowledgeable on Scottish history and other facts which he kept us entertained with. Ryan has great energy and pride in his business, he kept up a very high level of service throughout the 12-hour day and you can tell he cares very much about his clients and their experience. It was also wonderful to be able to relax and enjoy all the great views while Ryan drove. Ryan was prompt with all pre-trip communication and coordination, making a seamless and stress free experience.

Ryan was a absolute pleasure. From my initial contact with him, through the customization of our 2-day itinerary, he went above and beyond. Additionally, he was a "good sport" when some tourists at Loch Ness asked to take pictures with him, as he was wearing his kilt. :-) Thank you, Ryan, for an amazing journey. Can't wait to come back and do the Isles next time!

The tours organised by Ryan Mackenzie-Raymond to celebrate my 87th birthday (organised by my daughter) were simply awesome. The major tours to Skye (extensive), Loch Ness- Invermoriston-Invergarry-Falls of Foyers-Dores Beach, Glen Finnan-Glencoe-Fort William were superb and we really enjoyed it. The tours were immaculately tailored to my age and ability and what was beautiful is that I waa able to see and enjoy most of the Highlands as a young person would do. The three tour guides, Malcolm Murray, Graeme MacDonald and Gavin Simm looked after me like a member of their family. Nothing was too much trouble for them and the tours were conducted meticulously. They embellished the tours with their detailed commentary including geology, history, legend, myth, humour, fun, camaraderie and culture, which enhanced our knowledge of the Highlands manifold. Sgurr tours and the delivery of tours by this elite group of guides and Ryan's attention to detail and promptness in responding to situations/emails/phone calls is simply outstanding. If you want to visit the Highlands, Sgurr tours will be the best and do it to the highest standards. Photos attached. Kamala

We had the absolute pleasure of touring Inverness and the surrounding Highlands with a truly top-notch guide and driver, Ryan. From start to finish, the experience was outstanding. Not only was he an incredibly safe and professional driver, navigating the winding Highland roads with ease, but he also brought authentic Scottish charm and pride to every moment of our tour — complete with traditional attire that added a fun and memorable touch! What really set him apart, though, was his depth of knowledge. He shared fascinating history, legends, and local insights with passion and clarity, bringing the Highlands to life in a way that felt personal and meaningful. Whether we were exploring castles, lochs, or scenic hidden gems, he always knew just where to go — and his storytelling made it unforgettable. This was truly a five-star experience and a highlight of our time in Scotland. If you’re visiting Inverness and want an exceptional guide who combines professionalism, personality, and deep local expertise, look no further.
