Party of 4 spent a day with Ryan at Sgurr. One day seeing the sights and sounds around Inverness (Culloden, Cava Stones, village of Beully, Glen Ord Distillery) and the next day he drove us from Inverness to the Edinburgh Airport. Ryan is cheerful, knowledgeable and delivers a first class experience in a luxury van. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a local tour guide in the Highlands.

Ryan provided a very detailed Isle of Skye private tour. It was an amazing day! We truly enjoyed his personality, and sense of humor. We had a fabulous day exploring the Inverness area with Ryan! I stumbled onto his website while looking for flexible tour options. Sgurr is flexible! Ryan will create the itinerary that works for you and your group. We (two adults and two children-ages 12 and 15) had just one day in Inverness and wanted to explore without wearing ourselves out. Ryan picked us up at the train station in the morning (we arrived on the overnight sleeper train) and we visited some of the area highlights. Everything felt comfortable and well-paced. We never felt rushed and had plenty of time to enjoy the area as well as a leisurely, delicious lunch at a local diner. Ryan was a great guide and he is also just good company. We can hardly wait to return to the beautiful Scottish Highlands and we would definitely book another tour with Sgurr!

My Fiancée and I were recommended Sgùrr’s private Isle of Skye tour from Inverness by some good friends who could not stop raving about their experience. We now see why! We did a private Sunday tour with Ryan. It was truly one of the best experiences we have had as travelers. The communication from Ryan was second to none. He was in contact with us days leading up to make sure everything was all set for us. He picked us up right in front of our hotel which made it very convenient. His vehicle was very comfortable and provided us with refreshments and snacks throughout the day which was amazing. He was very friendly and very knowledgeable of the surrounding area. We had so many great conversations throughout the day which made the tour extra special. We started the day at Loch Ness and hit many different beautiful locations across the Highlands including Eilean Donan Castle, Old Man of Stor, Isle of Skye, Staffin Bay dinosaur footprint, and many more. Along the travels to these locations we had the opportunity to hop out for some great photo opportunities across the beautiful Highlands. Each spot seemed to feel more breathtaking than the next. He gave us a great recommendation for lunch (Gasta) where we stopped to have some delicious pizza and later on in the trip for some great hot chocolate. We really couldn’t have asked for a better day and person to show us the beauty Scotland has to offer. Ryan was a true professional and class act. Ryan and Sgurr were so incredible! We did the private isle of skye tour, with private pickup right from our hotel in Inverness. Before and during our trip, Ryan was very communicative and made sure we were getting the most out of the experience (even through the periodic March cold and rain!) We were able to hit everything on our list and more, including Loch Ness, Eilean Donan castle, Old Man of Stor, Staffin Bay to see the dinosaur footprints, and so much wildlife!! Cannot recommend Ryan and his incredible hospitality enough.

Me and my wife went for our honeymoon to The Highlands. Our day with Ryan is something we will always remember and tell our future children. The Isle of Skye is truly a magical place and something that wouldn’t have been possible without Ryan and his skilled/experienced driving up and down the narrrow roads in very windy and rainy conditions. Ryan is a local, highly knowledgeable of the history/area, and overall a great person to hangout with for the day. Highly recommend.

Ryan was an amazing tour guide - made us feel like we were driving around with a friend of our own in a foreign place to us! The tour was beautiful despite rainy weather and we learned a lot about the Isle of Sky and the history behind all the local places. He also set up our lunch plans that turned out to be incredible!
