My wife and I did a full day tour to Isle of Skye with Ryan and Sgurr Tours, and we had an absolute blast! His knowledge of Skye and Scotland is endless, and he retells it in an entertaining way. We purchased the photo package for our tour and he took the most amazing photos of us and the landscapes we visited. 12+ hours in the car with him absolutely flew by, we wish we could take him with us everywhere we go on vacation. I just spent four days ranging from 11 1/2 to 5 hours a day with Ryan Mackenzie-Raymond and not one day felt too long as The days were filled with fun, Splendid stops, experiences and awe inspiring views. I also recommend allowing your Tour Guide to help you choose your locations to see, Experience, places for meals, and lodging as their familiarity is key to great and memorable trips, avoiding crowds and an enhancing the experience of your tour. I just mentioned prior to my trip what things i look for in a tour and left my itinerary to him. I could not have been more pleased. Best tour that i have ever had and I was sad that I had not booked more days. I am a 70+ widow and was treated graciously as the spry grandmother that I am, yet watched over to ensure my safety on steep walks. Oh and Ryan is fluent in Gaelic which is such an added bonus in Gaelic lands!

Fantastic guide! My wife and I spent 3 days with Ryan in the Highlands and loved every minute. Ryan is warm, funny, knowledgeable, and a proud Highlander. He took us (in comfort!) to many astonishingly beautiful, historic, and very interesting sites. And best of all, great pubs! The days flew by and we were sorry when we had to go. We’ve been on many tours, in many places. Ryan is one of the best guides, and made this one of the best trips ever! Almost forgot: he’s a great photographer too! Now we have fabulous photos of our fabulous trip!!

We had a great day on our excellent Isle of Skye tour from Inverness! Ryan was charming, knowledgable, and well organized. We discussed our desired plans before the trip and Ryan executed them perfectly. In between stops he gave us great information, from history to the Gaelic language to current affairs in Scotland. We highly recommend booking a tour with him.

Ryan did an outstanding job. He was so friendly and flexible in helping us plan our trip, very responsive, knowledgeable, and professional. We were picked up in Edinburgh (family of 3) and drove out to the Isle of Skye for an overnight before heading to Inverness. We had to cut our trip down from three days to two days so we missed some of the sights around Inverness, but Ryan selected the least touristed, most scenic sights along our route. We particularly enjoyed Glencoe and the Fairy Glen. I know some families are opting to rent a car and drive themselves, but it is so worth being able to relax and have someone else plan the trip, drive the narrow and somewhat dangerous roads in a comfortable Mercedes van, and narrate the trip as we went along. Ryan is also an excellent professional photographer and gave us some wonderful photos to share. We have traveled extensively but Sgurr Tours stands out as one of the most seamless and pleasant private tours we have been so lucky to enjoy.

We highly recommend booking your private shore excursion from the cruise terminal in with Ryan from Sgurr Tours. Our guide, Iain, was fantastic and spending the day with him is one of our favorite memories from this trip. He was wonderful, patient and very accommodating to our elderly parents. Photo stops at Urquhart Castle and Loch Ness, a visit with some Highland Coo's, a very impactful visit to the Culloden Battlefield and Clava Cairns, yummy lunch at the Battlefield House Restaurant, and a tour of the beautiful Cawdor Castle to wrap up our day. Sgurr Tours communication was perfect (shout out to Ryan), the van for transport was neat and tidy, and Iain was knowledgeable, professional and personable. We truly enjoyed our day and our experience while in the Highlands! Thank you for being so helpful!

Our family from Florida absolutely loved this tour. It’s a must do!! Feel like a vip!! You’re not treated like a tourist it’s like you’re a local. So if you like to be cramped in a bus with 50 humans this is not the tour for you. It was exclusive just to our family and well worth the money for a crackin good time: we had older humans on tour and our guide stayed with them while we explored. Number one way to see Scotland in all its glory.

I am so happy we booked with Ryan with Sgùrr Tours. He was excellent about communicating before the tour and quick with return of photos he took on the tour. He has endless stories and details of history and lore of the area. We were never rushed and never had to worry about where to stop or what to see because he had it all under control.
