Wow! What a trip! It's truly magical that there is a place on this earth where animals can be themselves, uncaged, in a land with minimal human intervention and urban development.
I'm so glad that my husband decided to book with Easy Travel, the hotels (Arusha Planet Lodge, Kibo Palace, Z Hotel) and all of the Tortillis Camps we stayed at have all been beautiful with EXCELLENT customer service. Friendly faces greet you with face cloth and welcome drink at every check-in. And the little ways that they make you feel special, like Masuma (the agent we booked with) met us in our hotel with a cake, Kibo Palace hotel decorate our room with rose petals, Tortillis Camps with writings on our desserts.
The glampings in the Tortillis Camp inside each national park were amazing, beautiful tent with king size bed, the endless view of the national park from the comfort of inside your tent, hot showers, plentiful delicious 3 course meals, check out the stars and the bush fire at night, the nature orchestra with birds and hyenas, giraffe passing by as you enjoy your breakfast... just to list a few!
Now onto the most important part of our trip, our guide Simon!!! He is friendly, accommodating, with lots of Safari experience, an excellent driver, speaks very good English, very knowledgeable with animals, plants and insects AND he has super human eagle eyes that spots the animals (e.g. lioness hides in long golden grass) from miles away. I am often amazed at how he can shift gears, drive through clouds of dust, avoiding pot holes and spots animals from near or far simultaneously. We need to search with our binoculars but he can tell rather it is hyena, ostrich or black rhino when it is the size of a wild rice. I'm utterly speechless looking at the vast, endless landscape, we saw all big 5 and ugly 5 with Simon and learn about many other species! And so many cats, lionSSS, cheetahs and leopards!! We are so lucky to have Simon as our guide, we learn so much about African wildlife from him!
Ending our trip with a few days in Z hotel in Zanzibar was a nice change, it rained every morning but we still get to relax by the pool/beach. Make sure you make a reservation at Sexy Fish and enjoy their seafood dinners, all the courses we had there had been delicious!
Hakuna Matata! You cannot go wrong with Easy Travel, I hope your trip will be as amazing as ours, it has exceed our expectations in every aspects, enjoy every minute of it as it will fly by very quickly! If your budget allows, I highly recommend a private tour guide, you can maximize the precious time you have there.
